I get the joke but to clarify for others none of those are nukes, they are just powerful cruse missiles
And she is of course cheating. She can change 2 orders. But in the end she has (without spoiling) her body order, the air order and the laser order active. Am I tripping?

Edit: Spoiler? Easter egg? -- couldn’t remember who I responded to after I hit send and realized someone might deem it a spoiler but it’s more of an Easter egg then spoiler for those that watched the movies. So adding this as an edit.
The author has injected some things from the movies into the manga which is why people argue about how canon the movies are 😂. I know later on there will be a cameo of the little kids from movies 2 and 3.

Honestly, it is one of the Best Quirks in the series, if not THE BEST.
Only Overhaul, OFA, and AFO are comparable.
I gotta say, Midoriya’s somber moment at the beginning of this made me feel some stuff. The somber mood in general followed by the intense fight gave me consistent chills.
Stars & Stripes was kind of controversial when she was introduced, so I'm glad to see positive reactions to her in the anime. I imagine it's hard to introduce a character designed to a) Be incredibly powerful, b) not overshadow the existing cast, and c) represent the USA from a Japanese perspective

@Lazypackmule All Might represented the golden age of American superhero comics. Stars was the in-universe strongest American hero.
@TimothyGod Some people didn't like her design, or that America's top hero was a woman, or that she was too powerful. It was very dumb.

They cannot cover this whole arc in just a single season so it is highly likely that there will be a season 8 to cover the rest of the still ongoing arc, depending on how much story is left after this current ongoing arc ends there might be a season 9.
im inclined to believe we will get a 13 episode Season 8 to come full circle to Season 1 having 13 episodes

That is not correct. She is just unable to replicate his strength and speed because OFA is the effort of 9 persons over the course of decades and no single person can be that powerful. She probably has the strongest natural occurring quirk in the series though

This is why MHA is my 2nd favorite show ever. For the first episode of the new season it doesn’t try to go apeshit crazy giving us a ton of new stuff. It reminded us where we were gives us information on the new character that was teased last time and gives us her backstory.
Now, obviously the literal star of the show here is Star and Stripe. What a woman! I am looking as respectfully as possible...

Star’s quirk seems OP, but it’s almost like Death Note when she tried to make Tomura’s heart stop.
Yes it's quite an interesting interaction of her power on a living person. If they suffer a loss of identity, then a command that references a name will fail.

Can we talk about the fact that shiggy still refers to mon as "mon-chan"? Like id be surprised if anyone here wasnt aware but ima say it louder for the folks in the back, "chan" is a term of endearment.
He resent everyone in his family, but mon was always his friend. If mon was still here, shiggy would destroy everything, except for himself, the league, and mon. Cuz mon is his baby.

Any manga readers able to explain to me why, after specifically noting she can only do 2 commands simultaneously, she proceeds to control 3 commands at the end? If she is manipulating her strength, controlling her air stand, and focusing the lazers... Is that not just straight up breaking the explanation of her powers?
She gave up her strength buff, normally she only ever does one and keeps that active. If she does two then she isn't further strengthening her body.
@@In-The-Zone So her musculature is irrespective of placing a command on her own strength? If that's true, then I guess I fail to see why she would maintain her strength at all times (unless that's just a poor translation). Unless the wording of the command is something more specific and adds substantial defensive capability simultaneously to offensive power.
@@Alellion its the latter, her muscles are just from her build, she is a hero, works with military and just worked out a lot. The super strength is like an around buff to help her deal with bigger things. I imagine it also lets her hide her true power by showing off mostly just super strength in front of the public.
@@Alellion The point of her build is so her body can handle the power she puts into it with her quirk. Its the same reason All Might is so buff and why Deku has to train his body. Her quirk can buff her strength but only to the point it wont destroy her body. She wanted to emulate All Might including his power so her default is to have a command always doing so in battle and that usually is more than enough given she also has a free command to use.
the art for this section is incredible in the manga, especially "fist bump the earth" and "keraunos".

Confused on one thing at the end. Didn't Stars have 3 rules active? There's the one that's always on herself, the one of the air hardening into the shape of her a thousand times larger, but the rule of the lasers being able to be held remained

Hello Aliciaxlife i am not sure you understood when she said when all might saved her. let me explain she was the girl in the first my hero academia movie called two heroes in the beginning of the film all might had a flash back on when he met his united states friend David Shield. in the flash back the robber was about run over a car in traffic that was stars and stripes family and her younger sister and young all might come to save that event was 20 years ago. go check it out the movie to get what i mean. That little girl become inspired by all might and become stars and stripes i love how she calls all might "master" the amount of respect she has for him shows in this episode. who would have thought that little girl in the my hero academia first film was her that is crazy. soo beautiful ❤

New Order is one of those anime super powers that just hits you in the face with "yeah i gave this character basically god powers, fuck you gonna do about it?" its such a STUPIDLY broken quirk to have, and Star makes insanely good use of it with her quick and clever ways of thinking. the only downside is, of course, there are some very specific limits to how it works and if the enemy can catch on to those then it makes it a bit trickier to use well.
also a little callback to the first movie, Two Heroes: when Dave is scanning All Might and they talk about how the Symbol of Peace is disappearing, Dave mentions how "America could use you, All Might."
well they didn't get All Might, but Star here stepped tf up and made her name as the strongest gods-damned woman on the planet instead. and we love her for that, absolute QUEEN

Well, and I'm curious how the "Saying it's name" thing dictates the name. Air was named by us, but I'm sure it had other names before that. Tomura Shigaraki used to be Tenko Shimura, but this Quirk still affected him, so does that mean it just has to be the name Star believes them to have?
It worked on Shigaraki because HE thinks of himself as Tomura Shigaraki.

As hype as it is, this episode is pretty bad. They spend 10 minutes explaining to the audience how Star's power works..... Then, they spend 10 minutes on Shigaraki explaining to himself how Star's power works. It reminded me of that episode where All Might and AFO both spent the entire episode explaining how AFO was in Shigaraki's head. Hopefully, that's not a bad sign for the season.
I noticed the padding IMMEDIATELY. Same with next episode, showing stars attacks on shiggy. But mha has always had really bad padding
