My granny thinks this is absolutely beautiful
She lives and breaths the words with a sublime disregard for the beats in a bar.
Her phrasing is magic.
I have tried, for 5 minutes, to find words to express how beautiful I think this is, and just can't. Imagine being there when this was recorded!!
Boo Hewerdine is a brilliant songwriter, and his songs fit Eddi to a T - have for years.
This was a song Eddie sang as an encore last month in Limavady and it was absolutely delightful. Thanks Eddie for a lovely concert long will I remember such a lovely evening.
This rendition never ceases to amaze me. So uplifting; so much fun; so much brilliance.
It starts well enough, pleasant voice, I don't know the song, and then Phil Cunnningham comes in all Flaco Jimenez on the accordion, and suddenly I am in west Texas. Or strolling though the downtown market in Juarez, except this time I can understand the words to the beautiful music. How the hell can these musicians do that? Magic, I'm telling you, magic.

Saw Eddi tonight in St. Andrews where she entertained us for 50 mins before switching on the Christmas lights. Amazing voice.

Absolutely a brilliant peace of music she should be honoured by the queen.
On the T.V. transmission of the Transatlantic sessions the mix was really anaemic but this has been worked on and now not only can we se Danny Thmpson, we an hear him as wel. Brilliant! Beautiful song, beautifully sung, lovely harmonies. Classic!

Fantastic - I saw Boo Hewerdine sing this at the recent ish Mosely Folk Festival, when he said it had been a hit in Ireland for Eddie (and him) I sought the album out immediately. Wonderful song, wonderfully done.
