- My $500,000 Trading Account Update #4 | Coffee With Markus | Episode 137
Intro: 0:00
My Florida Trip: 1:34
My Trading Account: 6:31
My $5,000 Mistake: 18:00
Deep Dive Q&A: 30:56
My Goal:
- Deposited $250K in a margin account for $500K buying power.
- Trade for income: Make $15,000 per month = $180,000 per year = 72% return based on the $500K
- $15,000 / 30 days = $500 per day, including weekends.
SRC Profits:
- Systematic
- Repeatable
- Consistent
Today is February 22nd. What has happened so far?
- On the 1st, I wired 21,281 into my personal account from this trading account.
- Total REALIZE profits for this account for the year = 42,953
February hasn't been too exciting for the markets with the NDX down 0.73% & the SPX up 1%.
Trading Strategy:
- The Wheel Strategy
* Sell Put Options and collect premium
- Happened with
* RIDE
* DBX
* AMD
* If I get assigned the stock
- Happened with
* AAPL
* GDXJ
* Sell call options & collect premium.
- Happened with
* GDXJ
I currently 5 positions in my account, & 4-5 are down.
My $5,000 Mistake
- Happened on 2-16, stuck out of town and looked at the charts.
- I decided to trade because I was bored.
- I got assigned 800 shares of AAPL & the shares keep dropping.
- Today, there isn't enough premium to sell.
- I am only down 1%
This week
- On 3 of my open trades I will collect 2,809 in premium.
- If GDXJ closes above 49 on Friday
* I make an additional $100 per share
* with 21 options = $2,100
* This will be $4,909 collected in one week.

Made $2200 last week. $1900 came from a high risk AMC play that paid off well.
Steadily making a SRC 1.5% return weekly with the wheel strategy.
@@suncasa2224 Yeah today is a day where the wheel definitely is superior to a lot of other strats. I had 4 positions and 3 of them they bounced of the strike price today. Closed out the 4th making $240 on the trade in 3 trading days and rolled it into CSP $90 TQQQ that I am kind of begging the market to assign me on.
instaBlaster...
Most often I just buy/hold, but I've been interested in trading ever since I came across articles of people making upto $250,000 in just months of trading, thanks for the video and pls I'd really love more tips on how to outperform the market.
traders legit make more money.
You are welcome! I am glad that this helps! :)
Jesus Christ! Markus you have a great travelling arrangement. I love it. Thanks for sharing the pictures, and of course, your trades.
Thank you! :)
Hi Markus, great update; thank you for your help and great content video's!
So glad your back. PROUD OF YOU FOR PUTTING THE FAMILY FIRST. GIVES ME THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR YOU. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING. P.S. MAKEING MONEY THANKS TO YOU.
Thanks for update on your trip. Fun!! Thank you for being honest and showing losing trades. Helps to know that I am not the only one losing on those tech stocks.
You are welcome! I am glad that this helps! :)
As a dev, listening to all these dates being specified makes my BP rise...you know these guys will be really bustin' their asses now to get this new version out. The boss has spoken. Hope they're paid well at least.
I really appreciate how honest you are, Markus! I just spoke with Lisa this evening and I bought the PowerX Optimizer. Looking forward to starting the included courses and exploring the software. 😎
That is awesome! :) Looking forward for your success!
Thanks, great work!
You are welcome! I am glad that this helps! :)
New to your channel love what content you offer thanks for taking your time to share!
@@alanhill6786 actually I do allot of Windmill strategy also. I feel confident just love to look around you tube for we're people's heads our. Thanks
Thank you! :)
As a fairly new trader, seeking how you go about/your mindset is the most valuable lesson I have gotten from you. Still learning and making alot of mistakes :)
Thank you! :)
Markus - thanks for the video. Ques - how do you determine if the 'current' market is 'directional' or 'non-directional' ? In highsight, I can understand how this determination can be made- however, at the far right edge (in the moment), how does one ascertain this (and thus employ the correct strategy - i.e. either PowerX or Wheel). Thanks much.
@Markus when executing the wheel strategy, how do you figure out which strike price to choose when selling put and cover call?
Which strike price is the most optimal? Will power x indicate the best strike to choose?
Thanks for sharing the AAPL mistake Marcus. It's great to know that you don't have to jump into selling a call right away
You are welcome! I am glad that this helps! :)
I feel the pain...was assigned 300 AAPL shares two weeks ago and 100 QCOM...double pain...thanks for the video...
You are welcome! I am glad that this helps! :)
Friday I manage to narrowly avoid getting assigned GME.
Friday I sold the following puts:
GME $30
PLTR $25
QS $55
TLRY $23
I suspect I will be buying back one or two of those tomorrow and maybe the rest Wednesday.
If TQQQ keeps dropping for another few days and gets close to $90 then Wednesday I plan on selling those $90 puts for Friday and then when they expire do the $90s the next friday.
Debating if I want to do AMC for 2nd half of week. Earnings Thursday so the option premiums should go up a lot on those later in the week.
I'm interested in seeing what you do with AAPL! Have a great week.
Thank you! :) You too!
Markus, please just remind the folks, and just say "if you like it, give me thumbs up" nothing else. I love your vlogs. Thank you for all your enthusiasm, and guidance. I think I have reached my #of comments limit.
Thank you! :)
Nice video
Thank you! :)
I have to different strategies. For the high dividend stocks, I don't want to be assigned so I will check them just before expiration and if I can roll them forward without losing money (or even better making money) I will). For the non-dividend stocks I am totally okay with being assigned.
Is the RIB yours too? Or do you rent it at race sites?
Today I purchased a call debit spread on a stock EW. The numbers are not right please help, I'm new. The stock price was around $84.52 at the time. I bought the 84.5 and sold the 85.5. I ended up paying $49 for the trade. The 85.5 sell premium was higher than the 84.5 buy. And still shows that now on the option chain. It shows me loosing 150 dollars now. But the stock price is going up to 85.22. Any help please.
Hey Markus,
Welcome back. Glad to see and hear that you and your kids made it back safely.
I ordered your book on February 12. There hasn't been any update on when it will ship. How long does it take to ship out? I thought it would ship out immediately.
As what Mathew said, check the spam folder. Let me know if you got the update, if not just email support@rockwelltrading.com :)
Marcus Heitkoetter please I need your humble help. I believe I am first Angolan that follows your channel. If we talk through email santossalembe26@gmail.com or my whatsap number +244 995715932. Please I beg you
Hi Abel, you can reach out to support@rockwelltrading.com We would be more than happy to assist you.
Received an email with invoice and receipt showing payment. Then another email to confirm my shipping address. That's it. Nothing in spam with UPS tracking. I did get a text message to remind me to confirm shipping address. Once I did that, I was informed that I would be notified once the book ships, but that has already been a week already.
Hi, NorCal Knockerball. Please reach out to support@rockwelltrading.com to get assistance.
How far out are your strikes for puts?
what software are u using to see consolidated buy and sales? I have Robinhood and I am sometimes lost as to find a consolidated view
I think he’s using Tastyworks as his trading platform.
So glad you are back!! The wheel software is going to be included in the powerX optimizer in the future? Im just saving up, my plan is that for the end of this year I can afford to make this investment.
Wheel scanner is already incorporated.. My favorite feature.
Markus, try the wheel strategy on Senucinductor ETF SOXX. it is highly volatile with lots of premium and even if assigned it is a great ETF.
@@alanhill6786 I am good Markus. I have PowerX strategy software and also use the new wheel feature to make some income by selling puts. I am eagerly waiting for next round of update on PowerX !!
Please ignore the fake Markus. :) That is a scammer posing as me. We do not trade bitcoin nor use WhatsApp.
I want to see the inside of your bus too please!!!
IV on aapl was only 27%
It’s refreshing to see that even the pros make mistakes. I’ve been stuck with Pfizer at $41 since November because I got caught up in the vaccine hype and didn’t stick to the plan...
yeah it happens. I knew about Moderna way before the vaccine came out and didn't invest anything in it. then it completely shot up. ah well.
What is the difference between GDX and GDXJ? Why it seems more people trade GDXJ than GDX?
I think GDXJ is listed in the United States exchange while the GDX are in foreign exchanges.
GDX is major producers. GDXJ used to be juniors but its more mid tier companies
How do you use 100% of your margin without getting a margin call? If you use 100% of your margin, then can't you get a margin call fairly easily?
@@TradingSuccessCoach and just in case he does get assigned on all 5 positions and the stocks continue to drop he also has portfolio margin. So he will likely never receive a margin call as he works out of those trades.
If you're trading 12 contracts of AMD, that's about 100k in capital which is well over the 2% rule you previously spoke of? Am I missing something here? Seems like a quick way to blow up your account if you got assigned and AMD were to tank.
You are never 'risking' the entire value of the money in any one trade. Not likely that AMD would disappear entirely. But the 2% rule is more for PXO stop loss. For the wheel strategy im not sure there is really a stop loss rule.. Generally you can keep collecting premium and average down if needed to trade your way out of any loss. I suppose its possible that a stock could drop past the point of recovery but that may have been the wrong choice of underlying.. Or else there was some significantly devastating news that drastically and unexpectedly changed the company outlook.
@@cheechz I don't see how it's a good strategy to hold nearly 20% of your trading account in one stock and that would be the case in this example with the Wheel strategy. If the underlying goes against your favor, you may not be able to collect premium (selling calls )at least to the point where you're even on the trade. Maybe Markus can chime in and explain the logic here.
understood where you are coming from.. had you picked WKHS, for example, to wheel.. today would have been a disaster with 20% of your account invested. picking solid and conservative stocks are the key. Something like AAPL may have been on an unexpected downtrend lately, but I would have high confidence that it will continue up in the long term.. so worst case you hold on to the shares longer than anticipated.
why you never trade NIO or TSLA, premium are very high :)
Cuz he’s smart
He has traded NIO in the past.
