I also dislike pelaton. Here is how I view it if I get assigned and stock keeps going down. It is like in real estate if I bought a house because it dropped in price and I know I can get good rent for it. As long as the price is low I just collect rent each month until the property goes back up in value. It does not matter because in the end of the day it really is about getting that sweet cash flow. If I make money from appreciation that is just icing. I just hope my real estate background does not goof me up and bias me when it comes to the wheel. Just started Wednesday and already on my 3rd wheel trade. First 2 only lasted a day :)
Heeeyyy Markus, buying a plane is a great idea. I’m actually shopping for the plane for myself right now. It’s not stupid thing at all. Are you a pilot?
Hi Markus, I liked how you usually explained your trades that led to your income. Whilst the final results are impressive, I found it much more interesting to understand how you got there, trade by trade. Really appreciate your efforts. Hope you have a nice time off.
Markus, Would you please keep sharing your picks for the wheel trades, as before, vis text alerts? I feel I do better, when I am in trades along with you.
NKLA also hadn't broken ground on their factory, rumors of embezzlement, and not to mention the stock warrants hovering around for 10$ buying rights for half the float
Thanks again Markus! I was going to trade the CPE stock that came up on pxo on Friday, but being in Australia didn't get upin time to place it. Even though it went up im still glad I didn't trade it as anything could happen tomorrow. Good to have your knowledge to just sit on your hands and do nothing, wait for a better opportunity.
Hi M. Can a cash secured put be classed as ‘cash secured’ if you use your allowable margin? E.g. you hold 10k cash and have 10k margin. You sell 2 put options (200 shares) at $100/share. If assigned you reach your margin at 20k. Is this still cash secured? Obviously I would not do 1 company but spread it out over 5 companies as per your strategy but this is just to illustrate. Then you sell calls. Doubling your return as you’re using margin. Is this right? Thank you!
Technically this would be 1x cash-secured put and 1x naked put, as some of that cash (50%) would be borrowed from the broker on margin. This could work but the problem here is that if it is a regular margin account, where you get 2x stock buying power, you would max out your margin/leverage. If anything goes against you you'd get margin-called or liquidated, because there is no safety "margin".
So funny with Markus admitting that the new book is the PowerX Strategy book with the new cover printed out and put around. I spilled some coffee :) :)
Hi Markus,I just joined and I would like to see all you picks in one area. It’s very hard to find, like I mark mine 2/5/21 S2O (sell to open) 1 AAPL Feb 12, $139 cc (cover call)@.$89 = $88.33 .And then if I close it I put B2C (buy to close ) 1 AAPL @ .02 = $ 2.01 again your picks are hard to find thx.
@markus It seems like it would make sense to spend a bit of the premium collected when selling a wheel put to buy a deep out of the money put to 1) reduce margin required and, more importantly, 2) protect against a black swan situation occurring, especially when we have sold puts on all five allocation slots. I did watch the TQQQ video, and I understand the idea of dollar cost averaging at the lower price, but spending a bit buying a put on each position would be another approach. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
Its weird , Im about to buy 600 shares of tqqq tomorrow, and this video mention about it, I like tqqq because of good 5 years uptrend and has better return than tsla right now, I have tqqq on my roth ira $90/share that I bought 2 months ago and now already gain $20/share, that's 22% return from just the stock alone, it could be make more if I sell call otm to collect premium ,sound like a good plan.😃
Nicely explained in a very easy to understand way! Well done Marcus _ one question, if a broker allows 4 times buying power by letting those with 25000 trade upto 100000, why is yours only two fold? Is it because you do not need the four fold or are there other rules? Many thanks for your help!
@@DennisRay99 Exactly, I view it the same way. On regular margin accounts (2:1 leverage) you never want to be at 2x leverage because there is no room for error any trades going against you might cause a liquidation/margin call. Portfolio margin is better in that aspect because you have 5:1 or 6:1 _available_ but only use e.g. 2x leverage (as in Markus' case). You can of course dial the leverage to your risk-tolerance.
What to do when assigned and call premiums are not tasty at all (10-13% annualized premium instead of 30-40% goal)? - this is on the strike price equal to the assigned strike (so no opportunity of extra profit when the call is assigned). The current stock price is hovering slightly under the cost basis. Any ideas on what to do in this situation? Or is there a good way to manage this trade? Or is there a good way to minimize the risk of getting into a trade like this?
@@CaptainSkyHigh95 I've ended up entering the collar 28/30 for a tiny credit to wait out if the stock rebounds and gave myself about a month of extra waiting time with defined risk/reward. This is not a wheel at this point though but could get back on the wheeling track if I'm right. And if I'm wrong, I can just take the same losses later, or I may be able to roll for more credit, further reducing my cost basis.
