most dont have for a 1070 either bud. dont know where you get the notion of the 70 variant market being remotely good. thats why AMD is going to woop Nvidias greedy ass with RX 480.
+ScopeX no.. it's about the best bang for your buck. if you can get a 200$ GPU that performs the same as a 350$ GPU then what I'd the point of getting the 350$ GPU? and if you talk about power consumption and heat, AMD has made massive improvements lately regarding those two issues. and if you wanna talk about drivers, AMD has also made massive strides, and they actually support their cards longer than Nvidia does. (FYI) I'm no fanboy, and I have no bias towards any GPU company but if something is just as good as something else, but half the price, why buy the more expensive one?
it means the gtx 1070 as only just came out the gtx 1080 came out a few weeks b4 it so thats why everyone as been reviewing the 1080 now the gtx 1070 has come out you will see everyone reviewing it like he said you cant review something that has not been released yet
That does not mean it was released it just means they had a review sample companies give them out to youtubers all the time same with phones plus things come out in different regions all the time
I also think that is 100% the case. If people would just buy what they need not what they want, the 1070 would not be sold as much. Except for me, not one of the people i know, Friend's / Family run 1440p or 4k they all use 1080p, and for that the 1070 seem VERY overkill. "If we are talking about 60+ fps is all you want, if 120+ fps is the what you want then yeah, different story.
Do you even understand how a graphics card is made? The Asus Strix for example is made by Asus who just BUYS their GPU's from NVidia. They sign a CONTRACT guaranteeing the cost of the GPU for a certain number of months so NVidia does not make any more money. In fact, if the cards sold LESS due to being more expensive then NVidia makes less money. Of course the GPU's are also sold out so NVidia doesn't lose money that way, but then this is also why pricing is higher (supply and demand). NVidia's FOUNDERS cards are a different story. They have some control there though I don't know the specifics. They probably have to charge a bit more right off the bat if selling through ASUS etc because NVidia gets a bit of those sales, and Asus gets money too. Even if, for the sake of argument, NVidia made all the profit on a FOUNDERS card then so what? People are buying them so why should they charge less and lose money? There's also the discussion that NVidia shouldn't charge too LITTLE and undercut their partners so it's not completely cut and dry. *At the end of the day however, it's Business 101. Supply and Demand. What I find ironic is that the people COMPLAINING about this should understand the situation well enough to avoid buying until prices stabilize, thus there shouldn't be much of an issue. Here's a better question-> If YOU had a car to sell and someone offered you $8000 and someone offered you $6000 would you sell it for the cheaper price because that was a more realistic asking price?
You're wrong: there's absolutely no difference between previous reference cards and the founders cards. They just decided to make the founders more expensive because fuck you, that's why. It's smart because as you said, supply and demand means that nobody will respect the MSRP at all but they can still claim they didn't raise the prices when they basically set up the market to increase on it's own
We know the higher founders price point. We know the effect its having on prices. We know MSRP is not set in stone and that they knew all of this. Nvidia has failed to explain why is the founders edition card better (Is not binned, is not a particularly impressive cooler, it's just a reference model) How is it a conspiracy? Everything I said is verifiable and Nvidia is not shy about it. Merely suggesting that the founders is an encouragement but not an obligation for card manufacturers to increase the prices is not a fucking conspiracy it's a fairly reasonable deduction based on things we know.
+Shiva Teja I don't understand why people tout VR capability for the 480 when the VR systems in retail right now are almost four times the price of the graphics card. Besides, you don't know what kind of system this guy's running. 1440p? 144hz 1080p? Either of these make the 1070 a more appealing prospect to him than the 480.
+Ashish Patel Exactly. hopefully I the Rx 480 will take a large amount of nvidia's potential profit that's enough to actually hurt them. That way they won't pull this shit again.
Why are you bashing Nvidia? This is how business works. Companies can increase prices on their products if there's more demand for them. After all, they're the only ones with the new generation of graphics cards out.
Monopolies create a caveat for technological progress and allow companies to bully customers into buying an overpriced product. Don't patronize nvidia for this. With one company controlling things, we're left with a mediocre improvement over their older models that simply does not justify the premium price you pay. My 980 will last ~2 more years with no problems, so why, other than showing off my game running 10 frames faster, would I bother to spend ~600usd?
I'm extremely skeptical of the crossfire scaling people are hyping up for Polaris. It would take a massive breakthrough in optimization for dual 480s to even get close to the performance of a 1080. I expect to see them perform slightly below the level of a 1070, but I guess we'll just have to wait until next week to find out.

Tip of the day: Stfu when the fans start to run. That exact moment when the card goes from 0 rpm to fans = go, is SO important when trying to assess the sound and noise level of a fan. A piece of video stretching from fans = nogo to fans = go, will make it really easy to skip backwards and have a good critical listen to the fans. Besides that: i LOVE that you've included a mic test of coolers. For some of us that's VERY important. Thank you :-)
damn you Americans think 500 bucks for this gpu is a lot come to Australia its double the price $1,400 bucks a founders gtx 1080 its fucking ridicules.
Well if we all had the consumer laws that Australia has, we would get excellent customer support, warranties, returns, and all the same regular prices.
Bryan G. If everyone had "Australian ways", then there would be lower prices because companies would have to appeal to everyone and cant put down a super high price on Australians because of their consumer laws.
the gtx 1070 fe cost £400 which is 596.28 US Dollar and all the aftermarkets are near or above tht price.. in the uk. the gtx 1080 fe cost £620 which is 924.23 US Dollar and all the aftermarkets are near or way above tht price.. in the uk
on mainland europe it's worst, allmost the equevalent of 650 US dollars for the 1070, and around 830 dollars for the 1080 (with the highest current price around the equevalent of 1250 US dollars)
Great video, Its now April 2019 and i have just ordered one from scan.co.uk for just £289 on your recommendation. I'm a UK subscriber to your channel. I love your videos. Keep up the good work as your so helpful and very informative., and very funny at times.
Wow that cooler is silent! I like that you use your new microphone to test for fan noise and coil whine. Maybe switch between off and on a bit, instead of us trying to find the ambient noise without talking and than again with fans on without music. Liked the video and nice mentioning the current pricing issue again!
No not a chance. The 970 didn't price job and when it did it dropped $10 these will continue to be $449.99 and you shouldn't support them and there bullshit ass lies.
actually you can already get the asus gtx 1080 strix for about 760€ in germany on amazon, 40€ less than MSRP for that card and 70€ less than what some retailers charge at the moment.
the $379 ones (or the $599 GTX 1080s) are probably referring to Galax's lowest-spec variants of 1070/1080, which are both basically almost 100% same as founders editions(same pcb, blower fan and back exhaust style), albeit with a slightly different black casing. So from my guessings, no the $379 price will never come until the 1100 series GPU(or whatever) is released.
Who know. one or two months probably. Nvidia decided to sell their reference cards that usually are cheaper than custom cards more expensive, so manufacturers decided to sell their custom cards more expensive too, duh! Once the hype goes away an people stop buying them at that price, prices will start going down.
I personaly would go for it, since i think the 1070 is not that big a jump from the 980ti. Dont forget you must always take Benchmarks with a Grain of salt, if the games that you play are not included.
That's an awesome deal, like SnakePlizkin said, you're not far off a 1070 with that card, and the only real advantage with going for a 10xx series card over a 9x0 series card is power consumption, and honestly you'll probably spend more per year on starbucks than you will on the power you'll use with a 980ti over a 1070. I'm personally waiting for reviews of the RX480 to come out, if the performance of that card matches the rumours and the power consumption is where they claim it is, then I'll be getting something from them instead. $230 for 980 performance? If that's true then yes please, I'll have some of that :D
@JayzTwoCents I'm glad to see you point the price with the sadness in the look and eyes. That is why I subscribed , because you are honest and always try to be unbiased ( despite been nVidia fan ). Keep up the good work sir. Cheers
I'm gonna throw up if i see another 1080/1070 video. i dont blame you, i blame the board partners for making more expensive things that perform the same
lol why blame the board partners ? it's clear as day that the GPU already reached its OC limit from factory but no one seems to talk about that...why ? the 1000 series is clearly garbage at OCing as at best it's a 5fps increase over the reference card. You only buy it to get a better cooler and nothing else.
thats exactly why i blame the board partners. They made cards that are more expensive than the founders editions or nearly the same price (MSI is a big offender this year) and made relatively little or no improvements. MSI, whom i'll pick on here, made overpriced cards that dont overclock more than the founders and implement RGB into a red and black card. I mean sure, it might be cooler/quieter, but they really didn't make any improvements to old designs like the cooler that is essentially the same design as previously or listen to any of the reviewers who clearly pleaded with manufacturers "no (insert color here) when using RGB." The card is better than the Titan X, sure, but its the exact same improvement for a higher cost as previous years' improvements. Like Jay said, there are no cards for the MSRP price and the board partners and Nvidea are the ones who messed it up.
i just got this card. super happy with how its doing. i dont have a 1440p monitor so im just at 1080p but it cuts thru every game i threw at it like butter. doom doesnt phase it at all at the res im at. its pure awesome.
Well I like coffee milkshakes, but I just stick with Arby's Jamocha Shake. As for Starbucks coffee I like the cold coffee they sell, much better than the store brand cold coffees. But everyone's taste are different.
When is some body going to test overclocked gtx 980 ti vs gtx 1070!!! Geforce boost 3.0 practically overclocks the card to the limit why have reviews not adjusted the way you test NVIDIA cards its practically overclocking for you. If you run a 980 ti at 1.4ghz it is just as fast an overclocked GTX 1070 if not gaster in some games not to mention alot of 980 ti can do 1.5ghz+. It makes me feel like alot reviews are being told by NVIDIA to only test there practically factory overclocked cards against super under clocked refrerance 980 ti's running at 1000mhz, seriously you still got 500mhz+ to go. Test a GTX 1070 @2.0ghz and a 980 ti @1500mhz and see what happends. Let me give you a clue its what reviews are helping NVIDIA hide, thats that the 1070 is not really faster than a 980 ti.
980ti still costs about 100$ more than a 1070 so honestly why does it matter? if you already own a 980ti congrats you have a good card but no one should buy a 980ti at this point when the 1070 is already available (more or less)
+Grey Roots (Thundernugs) price dropped 980 ti sli. I have my 980 ti, I could decide to sell it for 300 ish dollars and upgrade to the 1080, or is it wait a couple more months until the 980 ti price drops to 400 dollars (some are close, but not the one matching my current card). Either way, it's an option. As much as I'd like to sell and upgrade, I'll probably pick up another 980 ti and keep those two cards for another two years.
Dont forget that the 980ti is as fast as a 1080, when it comes to video production/editing, so there´s a big leap in performance in that regard, vs a 1070 that is.
You can get an Msi g4 gaming 980ti for $440, yet the cheapest aftermarket 1070, which is the EVGA SC, costs $420. Don´t forget that the prices on newegg fluctuate from time to time as well.
+JayzTwoCents I just got this card last night. It replaced GTX 690 Quad SLI setup. The Quad SLI got about 2000 more in Firestrike, but the 1070 is a better gaming card. When I had issues with the menu text in Battlefield 1 due to SLI I said screw it and got a single card solution. Nice review!
thats actually not that well if you look at the percentage gain in clock speed and performance gain in games. IMO maxwell OC way better. Anyway I have no idea how you got that 1070 considering the stock situation, congratz anyway lol
Have fun with your Vive Jay! Also thank you for a great video, the 1070 is too expensive for me at the moment. Maybe in a couple of months :) Have a great day
I'm sure you get this a lot, but you're honestly a great and sincere reviewer. A lot of people with 500k+ subs put on a fake personality and fake enthusiasm to appeal to people more, *ahem* Linus *ahem* along with the majority of other youtubers, not necessarily just in the tech area of youtube. Keep it up man, I love your videos.
I think you will get close to 1 million subs by the end of the year. Your benchmarks actually make sense, unlike most other reviewers. I also agree that the pricing is totally fucked, the MSI 1080 card is absolutely ridiculous. $720 for a card that isn't as good as the competition...
You know, for all the things I don't like that Jay does, fortunately, there are a number of things that he does that keep me coming back... Like the fact that he makes videos that take as long as they take to share the necessary information, whereas some other 'tubers (No, not potatoes) have come to make more, shorter videos that really lack content (Ahem, LMG)... Thank you Jayburger! That's what I'll call you, Jayburger... It was either that, or Jaysnatch... I figured... Well... You know what I figured... :-)
Hey Jay, I have the same card. My best OC so far has been 2114 Mhz. Bone stock my card was gpu boost 3.0 boosting to 1962 in Firestrike. I changed the power target to 112% and temp to 90 c and it boosted to 1987. I did an aggressive fan curve and even when OC mine hits max of 66 c. Thanks for the great video. I didn't win the Silicon lottery but my card does perform very well. I wish they priced these at $400 bucks as that would be a great deal.
Im happy to say that I bought the card for 378$ !!! From amazon. I had some discounts attached to it, but ha i got my advertised Nvidia pricing! Love the card looks great in my NZXT H440 case with the illuminated logo matches perfect with the cards logo.

Yeah, the price is less than Titan, but totally absurd no matter how you put it . Great and entertaining review. I was hopping that the pricing will be slightly above GTX 970 but here where i live is 250 USD more than 970 was
haha it was pretty awesome to run into you at microcenter today! =P hehe love the videos and if i sounded uhh.. bit wheezy.. uhh i kinda was.. LOL but yea thanks for inspiring me to get back to building pc's =D
Just took advantage of Newegg's Black Friday sale on this GPU. $369.99 with $20 rebate, Free Monster hunter game & free shipping. What more can you ask for. Can't wait to put my new gaming PC together. Did you do the 1070 SLI review?
1070 was supposed to be in stock today, I go to the interwebz to have a look at the stock status...ANOTHER 2 weeks before I can get a 1070. Integrated graphics FTW! :D
"...EVGA GTX 1070 SuperClocked ACX 3.0. And the only reason why they stopped there with the name is 'cause they didn't have any more room on the box to come up with a longer title." The EVGA GTX 1070 SuperClocked ACX 3.0 Black Edition says "hi."
Goddamn Jay, I am *SERIOUSLY* jelly that you're going to rock PCars on the Vive. I've got a full racing sim as you do, but I've held off getting dedicated monitors for some of that VR goodness. Thinking by the end of summer I should be able to afford one. Would love to hear your thoughts on your experience!
Just got my 1080 founders yesterday and immediately overclocked it to 2088MHz (crapped out any higher) with +200MHz to the memory. BF4 runs maxed out at 1440p at 160, sometimes getting up to 180fps and I honestly couldn't really ask for more performance. I just wish the temps were lower but I tried to dismantle it and replace the stock compound but it's super locked down, making it near-impossible to get to the core.
If you click back and forth between @5:10 and @5:15, you'll notice that the card expanded a little but at the end where the power connector is. I'm aware that the camera moved as well but the end of the card did expand too. Just thought that was interesting. Lol.
jay i really love your videos. you have good insight on what you talk about your videos are well made and and always helpful. i really admire you. you managed to achieve what i have been wanting to try for quite some time now and i really do kind of look up to you. i just wanted to let you know that you are great at what you do and to keep it up. and i hope that one day i have the courage and the resolve to make videos even close to what you make. thanks for being there. you make my day every time i see you have a new video.
Love these videos Jay. I'm not surprised about the pricing. I knew the third parties would price their products at a premium and I don't know why anyone thought any different, let alone finding one to buy.
I just bought one on New Egg to take the place of an EVGA 970. I did it for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Hope to sell the 970 for $100 on E-Bay. Did it for Battlefield 1 also.
Love the new set!
I fucking hate it.
***** I can say it because i'm a fucking badass.
bacon
i like it 2 make a vid with him ...
He should've used dbrand skins
FINALLY a review that's NOT about a GTX1080...
Not everyone has the money for that.
most dont have for a 1070 either bud. dont know where you get the notion of the 70 variant market being remotely good. thats why AMD is going to woop Nvidias greedy ass with RX 480.
The amd cards are for poor people who dont give a damn about high graphics and want to play 1080p easily
you act like people have $$$ for a 1070 as well, that fucking card is over 700 here in canada//europe//australia
PLEASE!
+Anna Aldrin At least its bot as high as the 1080. The 1080 is like 850$ here in the netherlands...
1070 is like 600-650$
+ScopeX no.. it's about the best bang for your buck. if you can get a 200$ GPU that performs the same as a 350$ GPU then what I'd the point of getting the 350$ GPU? and if you talk about power consumption and heat, AMD has made massive improvements lately regarding those two issues. and if you wanna talk about drivers, AMD has also made massive strides, and they actually support their cards longer than Nvidia does. anyone here looking at this in 2018, and planing to buy this because rtx is too costly?
Yep im getting the 1070sc and will oc to make it 1080 lol
Yep, me.
DRIFTKINGEVO I just bought one of these for 265 on eBay. Super pumped to OC it!
Just purchased a used one off eBay today with 2 years warranty left on it
Just bought one for $200... lol
finally again a 1070 review
+Harry Lawton wtf is that supposed to mean
+Harry Lawton the 1070 has been out for a while now. this is a review for the SC version
it means the gtx 1070 as only just came out the gtx 1080 came out a few weeks b4 it so thats why everyone as been reviewing the 1080 now the gtx 1070 has come out you will see everyone reviewing it like he said you cant review something that has not been released yet

That does not mean it was released it just means they had a review sample companies give them out to youtubers all the time same with phones plus things come out in different regions all the time
But it isn't a GAMING 1070... boo
Jonathan i did..
my gtx 680 is just a phantom :(
Atom Mirrabel boo..
I get you mate, you should have wrote a kappa or something lol
+Jonathon It was a joke because a lot of people just care about graphics cards that say oooo GAMING yeahhh dis the basssttttt evAR
So in the end Founders = Nvidia sneaky and scumbaggy attempt at jacking up the price 100 bucks this gen.
I also think that is 100% the case.
If people would just buy what they need not what they want, the 1070 would not be sold as much.

We don't actually know that since all that was shown was AMD internal "Benchmarks"

Dosn't change the fact that they are benchmarks. And are literally exactly the same as you might benchmark it but the test was done 10 times.

Congrats.
Still runs good yeah?
@@domino52o26 1070 still absolutely crushes anything you want at 1080p and even 1440p. 4K can be a bit of a stretch.
Well. It is now June in 2022 and my EVGA GTX 1070 SC is still going strong and chugging along. I would'nt mind another one and connecting them in SLI.
I'm 100% convinced Nvidia did this pricing shit on purpose because the can.

That is sound foam, to reduce/stop echoing/reverb.

it's a better solution than whole room watercooling.
ACTUALLY... Those are George Forman grills
+wobbly sauce I know. It was a joke. :p
Little did he know how jacked up prices would really be in 2021 🤣🤦 God bless everybody frfr

+Mario S. Probably will be cheaper to get a plane ticket and buy stuff here and fly back then pay for things there! :o
Well if we all had the consumer laws that Australia has, we would get excellent customer support, warranties, returns, and all the same regular prices.
NicksDomain101 What? How do you expect lower prices when thinking about Australian ways?
Bryan G. If everyone had "Australian ways", then there would be lower prices because companies would have to appeal to everyone and cant put down a super high price on Australians because of their consumer laws.
I'm glad you addressed the pricing stuff. mad props
I got my GTX 1070 SC very lightly used off of eBay for $360 with shipping. Prices have come down :)
TroiiiE now to the mining crazy they gone up lol
Imagine someone saying that nowadays. It's at least $500 if you're lucky. Glad I bought mine before the stupid miners ruined the GPU market.
@@MrVuckFiacom I'm glad I just got mine for 270 new... Guess the miners don't completely control the market
TroiiiE just got mine for 260 a year later.
I had this card for years and had ZERO issues! Absolutely amazing quality!
i love watching reviews but hate after watching it then looking to purchase and i cant

Excellent Card, I put one in my Box yesterday, very cool, quiet and fast, it boosts well into the 1900's out of the Box, very happy with it.
the gtx 1070 fe cost £400 which is 596.28 US Dollar and all the aftermarkets are near or above tht price.. in the uk.
the gtx 1080 fe cost £620 which is 924.23 US Dollar and all the aftermarkets are near or way above tht price.. in the uk
Same here in South Africa :|
Vote to leave the EU and then you won't have to deal with VAT and other bullshit taxes that they're bleeding your wallet dry with.
You are a moron if you think Leaving the EU will lower import taxes in Europe.
on mainland europe it's worst, allmost the equevalent of 650 US dollars for the 1070, and around 830 dollars for the 1080 (with the highest current price around the equevalent of 1250 US dollars)
lol
I'm in Norway. This exact card is 452 pounds here. No EU. More taxes than most have.
Great video, Its now April 2019 and i have just ordered one from scan.co.uk for just £289 on your recommendation. I'm a UK subscriber to your channel. I love your videos. Keep up the good work as your so helpful and very informative., and very funny at times.
In short : Buy RX 480,OC to 1600, get 1070 Performance, don't be fooled by Nvidia
That's incorrect. A 480 has the performance of a 390
+ZeldaMaster32 390X*
Coil whine, over heating issues and driver issues?
It's so difficult nowadays to say if people are serious or just being sarcastic...
Are reviews out yet ?
Hey jay just wanna say Thanks for putting vids out all the time.
Finally! This what I plan to replace my R7 370!
why not go for the rx480?
Considering how vague every possible review of it has been, I'm not too keen about it at the moment.
It's not out until next wednesday, I don't know I might get it after we'll get to see benchmarks...
It'll have to blow me away, honestly. I'd rather spend $400 on one 1070 than 2 RX 480s, it'll have to really impress me.
+TheBlack Swordman an overclocked 480 will be close enough behind the 1070 to really consider. Just imagine crossfire on 2 of em, overclocked.
love the new sound dampers on the walls and layout!
i got my 1070 WOOT WOOT!!! its a beast! :D
audio sounds alot better Jay, thanks for fixing it! :D
crisp highs, clear mids and little bit of bassey lows.. well balanced indeed.
I'm going with the red team this year, what about you guys?
Nope
better dead then red!!!
whatever gives me the best bang 4 the buck at 300-400 dollars
+scooFy Wow red feelings matter too.
You came to this channel of all places and expressed interest in AMD products, big mistake.
Wow that cooler is silent!
I like that you use your new microphone to test for fan noise and coil whine.
Maybe switch between off and on a bit, instead of us trying to find the ambient noise without talking and than again with fans on without music.
Liked the video and nice mentioning the current pricing issue again!
Jay should I get a gtx 1070 or 2 gtx 980's? I have a Nvidia surround setup.
1070
2 980s would easily win if the game supports sli
big IF tho
2 980 but it isn't even in the same price point
But the 1070 has that simultaneously multi projection or whatever it's called.
But the 1070 has that simultaneously multi projection or whatever it's called.
That music during the benchmarks was fucking amazing. Holy shit. I need that.
when will these actually be $370 tho?
So from my guessings, no the $379 price will never come until the 1100 series GPU(or whatever) is released.
._. There is already a listing for a gtx 1070 for 429$. Please don't be butthurt
Who know. one or two months probably. Nvidia decided to sell their reference cards that usually are cheaper than custom cards more expensive, so manufacturers decided to sell their custom cards more expensive too, duh!
Once the hype goes away an people stop buying them at that price, prices will start going down.
I got this exact model with aluminum backplate used off CL for $120 recently. Still holds up pretty well today with recent games.
I have a question, will we actually ever see a custom gtx 1070 at the $370 mark in the next couple of months or is that just wishful thinking?
i never realized how much Jay loves graphucs cards until now.
Is a 980ti @ 399$ a good deal
I personaly would go for it, since i think the 1070 is not that big a jump from the 980ti.
Dont forget you must always take Benchmarks with a Grain of salt, if the games that you play are not included.
980 Ti is currently down to $330
That's an awesome deal, like SnakePlizkin said, you're not far off a 1070 with that card, and the only real advantage with going for a 10xx series card over a 9x0 series card is power consumption, and honestly you'll probably spend more per year on starbucks than you will on the power you'll use with a 980ti over a 1070.
I'm personally waiting for reviews of the RX480 to come out, if the performance of that card matches the rumours and the power consumption is where they claim it is, then I'll be getting something from them instead.
$230 for 980 performance? If that's true then yes please, I'll have some of that :D
Same boat as you Robin.
+NEGOZIO 6gb is still plenty
@JayzTwoCents I'm glad to see you point the price with the sadness in the look and eyes. That is why I subscribed , because you are honest and always try to be unbiased ( despite been nVidia fan ).
Keep up the good work sir.
Cheers
I'm gonna throw up if i see another 1080/1070 video. i dont blame you, i blame the board partners for making more expensive things that perform the same
*Shows you a GTX 1080 video*
Is it hard to be that savage?
lol why blame the board partners ? it's clear as day that the GPU already reached its OC limit from factory but no one seems to talk about that...why ? the 1000 series is clearly garbage at OCing as at best it's a 5fps increase over the reference card.
Like Jay said, there are no cards for the MSRP price and the board partners and Nvidea are the ones who messed it up.
don't watch it. do something else.
i just got this card. super happy with how its doing. i dont have a 1440p monitor so im just at 1080p but it cuts thru every game i threw at it like butter. doom doesnt phase it at all at the res im at. its pure awesome.
Why does everyone like Starbucks so much? Every one I've ever had tasted like stale coffee mixed with battery acid.
Because most people these days are stupid sheep who follow whatever they think is popular.
Starbucks was a failure in Australia. They closed nearly all of their stores.
+Storm haywire it's also possible that people like it
I thought I was the only one, you either get this or something sweet that tastes like a milkshake.
Well I like coffee milkshakes, but I just stick with Arby's Jamocha Shake. As for Starbucks coffee I like the cold coffee they sell, much better than the store brand cold coffees. But everyone's taste are different.
Just purchased this for 389. Great review. I'm so excited omg I can't wait.
Kyle Gruber this dude is talking about comparing a 980ti to a 1070. when working Sli is cool but ill never go back to muti card set up.
Don´t forget that the prices on newegg fluctuate from time to time as well.
man, your editing skills are insane! cheers, Jay!!
EVGA had the best design and now they have this thing...
i like this review format for graphics cars, keep it up jay!
980ti is holding its own like a beast!
Of course DX12 improvements will make it become more obsolete eventually, but still! Nice work!
Thanks for this video! Just bought mine EVGA 1070 SC in a really good sale! I am sure it's going to bring me the performance I am looking for.
Still using mine in 2022! STIll a great *1080p* card! Even *some* titles @ 1440p/Medium/60fps!
Holy shit, Jay. That's a beast OC. Nicely done.
I got my strix 1080 yesterday and so far extremely satisfied
+JayzTwoCents I just got this card last night. It replaced GTX 690 Quad SLI setup. The Quad SLI got about 2000 more in Firestrike, but the 1070 is a better gaming card. When I had issues with the menu text in Battlefield 1 due to SLI I said screw it and got a single card solution. Nice review!
This card OCs really well. I'm able to get a little over a 2100mhz on mine as well.
My best so far is 2114 at 66c
thats actually not that well if you look at the percentage gain in clock speed and performance gain in games. IMO maxwell OC way better.
Anyway I have no idea how you got that 1070 considering the stock situation, congratz anyway lol
Have fun with your Vive Jay! Also thank you for a great video, the 1070 is too expensive for me at the moment. Maybe in a couple of months :) Have a great day
I'm liking the checkerboard sound dampers. It's very car-feeling.
Keep it up man, I love your videos.
waiting this review from long time thanks jay ")
I think you will get close to 1 million subs by the end of the year. Your benchmarks actually make sense, unlike most other reviewers. I also agree that the pricing is totally fucked, the MSI 1080 card is absolutely ridiculous. $720 for a card that isn't as good as the competition...
This is the exact card I want, and I can hardly wait for it to come out.
Great Video! Can't wait to see your reviews of the Vive. I want one soooooo bad!
here's the fan level - let me talk over the sound while it ramps up... then play loud music... nice test, Jay
I'm so happy and fortunate to have one of these cards. It is absolutely amazing just like this video Jay1
I just bought this card for nostalgia purposes. I have never had a EVGA card so this will be used sparingly. Jay you were a baby back then! LOL 🤣
Nostalgia? Lol, it's been in my case for 8 years
the card I been waiting for a review for
YESSS FINALLLY! This is the one specific card I wanted so I'm glad to finally get a solid review :D
Damn. Hoped the 1070 would keep it's somewhat appealing pricetag. Now the RX 480 is definitely in my sights
I've been waiting for this!
I'm glad you touched on the pricing. That's actually been a huge issue for me, and it seems that it's the same for many others.
LOL
but yea thanks for inspiring me to get back to building pc's =D
Glad seeing youtuber talking about pricing
Just took advantage of Newegg's Black Friday sale on this GPU. $369.99 with $20 rebate, Free Monster hunter game & free shipping. What more can you ask for. Can't wait to put my new gaming PC together. Did you do the 1070 SLI review?
Got that same deal
1070 was supposed to be in stock today, I go to the interwebz to have a look at the stock status...ANOTHER 2 weeks before I can get a 1070. Integrated graphics FTW! :D
good video as always Jay. like to see how you oc in sli because most cards don't overclock the same
"...EVGA GTX 1070 SuperClocked ACX 3.0. And the only reason why they stopped there with the name is 'cause they didn't have any more room on the box to come up with a longer title."
The EVGA GTX 1070 SuperClocked ACX 3.0 Black Edition says "hi."
I've waited so long for this video.
Maxwel The temps aren't that different at all whether it's overclocked or stock. 35-40'c idle and around 85'c load.
+Tryte Custom fan curve?
Maxwel It's fokin loud tho :'(
Maxwel FOKIN. LOUD.
Maxwel Noise levels more directly effect me than temperature.
I think all your video's rock Jay.
"A FAN tastic job" well played, jayz haha
I was waiting for a review for this card
Love these videos Jay.
I'm not surprised about the pricing. I knew the third parties would price their products at a premium and I don't know why anyone thought any different, let alone finding one to buy.
I just bought one on New Egg to take the place of an EVGA 970. I did it for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Hope to sell the 970 for $100 on E-Bay. Did it for Battlefield 1 also.
2024 im still running this card on flightsim and its a great card man
"Now it terms of coolingit does a fan-tastic job" I see what you did there...
This is my old video card, upgraded to an evga xc3 ultra 3070. Gonna miss that card though
Just upgraded from a 970 to a 1070 for a delta of $100 after selling the 970. For 1080p gaming, it seems to be worth it to upgrade late and save much.
Still have this in 2020 and still beasting.
i just bought this card from my local Best Buy. last one they had and it's a beast!
