  • *BEFORE YOU COMMENT ABOUT US GOING THROUGH HER DRAWERS AND US BEING RUDE... WE WERE ALLOWED TO!!! Security said we could open everything, just not to touch anything inside, and we didn't.* We visit Ree Drummond's, (The Pioneer Woman), Restaurant and store "The Mercantile" and afterwards drive out and visit her Ranch. We take a self guided tour of the Ranch to see where she films her TV show and we even get to meet and pet the dogs! We had a REALLY fun time!!!

    Thanks for filming this episode about the Pioneer Woman; she is such an inspiration! My only suggestion is to slow down the filming; it was difficult to see the items as you walked so quickly. It would have been nice to have the filming less jerky; needs to be more smooth!

    • @wheretheheckarethealbans
      @wheretheheckarethealbans  6 років тому

      henrietta henson it gets busier as the day goes on. For lunch and dinner, the line is known to go around the building. Thousands go there everyday. The line wasn't bad the morning we went because it was 7:30am. However, the restaurant was already full inside.

    • @henriettahenson
      @henriettahenson 6 років тому +2

      I was more on about the streets rather than the store ...they are wide @ big the space seems vast to me ... Devon in England is small @cute soooo different from big wide @tall ...and even early morning in my village there is so much life going on ... this to me looks soooo different thats all ...

    • @wheretheheckarethealbans
      @wheretheheckarethealbans  6 років тому +1

      henrietta henson it really is a "one horse" kind of town. LOL! I guess most towns in the US are like that, as far as the streets are concerned. Not very much traffic happening that early in the morning around that area. Truthfully, I think that place is the only "main attraction" in town. I know she's the biggest employer in the area. She has over 150 local people working for her. That's pretty impressive. Thanks for your comments and thanks for watching! 😉

      Patty Amato they have a "main house", the lodge is on the other side of their property. It was originally built so if they were working on that side of the land, they didn't have to drive several hours to get back home. She shoots half if her TV show at the house and the other half here at the Lodge. It's basically a second home for them.

    While I enjoy the Pioneer Woman, the irony of seeing her diggs with all of her equipment, is that she doesn't know how to properly use most of it! She almost always uses the wrong gadget in the wrong vessel for the wrong purpose. Like most FN stars, she has never been classically trained, and does not know the fundamentals of cooking. Nevertheless, I still watch sometimes, and become inspired to just do something I would not otherwise do.

    I love the Pioneer Woman and it was great to get a new perspective on her stomping ground. Something that bothers me is that her range of products, most of them copied relics from the American lifestyles we had long ago, are made in China. My cupboards are full of genuine household utensils which were made in the last sixty years. And they were quality items, made here in this country, lasting well through a parade of different owners. What I'm saying is that I'd like to see this smart business woman crusade, not just for the appearance of pioneer know how, but for the job sustainable manufacturing that stays in her own backyard. She made the fast buck, time to make the right one.

    Really liked your video. Living in Md doubtful I'll ever see this in person. I'm a huge Pioneer Woman fan and was cool to see all this up close & personal. So generous of the Drummonds to allow public visiting. (Free range at that!) isn't anyone around? I mean some people might pick up souvenirs !! I'm curious about their actual home. Is it near the Lodge?

      Judy Pasqualone there are security guards there. Someone is always watching. 😉. Their actual home is on the other side of the property. From what I understand , it takes a couple of hours to get there. Yes, that's how big their property is! Crazy, huh? Thanks for watching and we're glad you enjoyed this video!

    Hello. I just subscribed to your channel. That was very nice of Ree to open her lodge to the public for a day. I'm very glad you and your family toured and took videos of Ree's lodge and her restaurant. My mother and I are fans of Ree's. I'm going to share your vlog with my mom. Don't' you think it interesting that the lodge has a "add on " just to store Ree's staging props. Do you think Ladd knew what he was getting into when he started to date Red.

    • @wheretheheckarethealbans
      @wheretheheckarethealbans  6 років тому

      Phyllis Holsinger LOL! Could be. But I think, (and I could be mistaken), the original lodge ended where the 3rd bedroom is. I think the rest of it, the huge industrial kitchen and the prop room were an addition after her show took off.

      Few realize just how remote the ranch is when they criticize her use of canned foods or why she home schooled her kids. Ree's daily life is not at all like a city dweller 15 minutes away from anything and everything under the sun. Getting someone willing to deliver pizza is nearly impossible without breaking the bank tipping the guy!

    My BFF came from Minnesota to take care of me after cancer surgery to see the mercantile. It was a nice little road trip from OKC, we got a hotel and got up for breakfast at mercantile, but there was a huge line so, we went upstairs to the bakery. I was an amazing trip and we drove by Drummond ranch on our way back home. I definitely will come back again. I had an amazing time, but I was so sore, just having surgery a week before our trip.

    Have never watched her show, just saw her dishes online , Our Walmart lacks many choices of her dishes ?
    Looks like a neat store but not my style !
    Seems she just exploded all over ! This would be a neat place to visit even if you didn’t like the style !
    I could never wait in a line this long to eat !
    I admire their huge success! Seems they have everything covered?
    I don’t watch. Tv so haven’t seen her show,
    Wonder about name. Pioneer Woman ? Must see if it’s on UTUBE , they certainly have great PR, the expanse of
    Her Empire is truly awe inspiring !!

    Interesting. We live in Oklahoma so of course I haven’t been to the Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile or Lodge. Lol. My Grandmother used to occasionally go to the “bigger town” of Pawhuska to buy groceries when we all came to visit. 😌. Only had one problem with the video. I could definitely tell a man was using the camera because it went too fast for this motion-sick-prone shopper to see things clearly enough to admire or discard. I know! That’s a woman thing. It was good to see a family enjoying a day TOGETHER. -one of those memory making days. ❤️
