Destiny 2 Lightfall News! There's a new Raid Exotic in Destiny 2 from the Root of Nightmares raid: the CONDITIONAL FINALITY shotgun! I originally thought the raid exotic was gonna be Vexcalibur, but that already happened 😂 The Conditional Finality MAY become my personal best shotgun in PvP. Time will tell, but here's my exotic review...

If you hit a solar shield with the stasis shot, it’ll break the shield as if it was a solar weapon and deal the bonus damage shield explosion.
It seems like it swaps to solar fast enough after the shot that the game registers the pellets as solar rather than stasis for shield breaks. Very useful imo

No other shield break works like this does. Quite interesting
the weapon also gains weapon surges from solar font, i believe this is because the base mag is solar

Also, the gun feels really good. The high reload speed makes up for only 2 shots in the magazine at a time. It’s good for majors and can stun both unstoppable and barriers (if you keep them frozen). Definitely a fun exotic, but won’t exactly be the new Meta/highest DPS
My favorite way to deal with champions is to just spam the bell out of suspend effects. As a hunter, that’s more than possible.

@@leichtgesalzener-kabeljauroggeyou cant refreeze barrier champions quick enough for higher end content solo but this lets you perma freeze any champion in a single shot
If the Barrier champ puts up his shield, you can just walk inside the shield and shoot him with the freeze shot and it’ll freeze him out of his ability. Also works with cleverly maneuvered glacier grenades and walking inside the shield and suspending them e.g. with the strand hunter slam aspect.
Also cool is that the damage type on the HUD layout changes between the stasis crystal and the flame depending on the shell that's available in addition to the changing reticle
Two-Tailed also does this briefly.
Things you should know, it deals aggressive frame pellet damage, but has 20 more aim assist than most aggressives, leading to it feeling really sticky and consistent at landing pellets for freezes and ignitions.
The stasis shot will also kill anyone around the target you kill if you hit them with all pellets as they will release an AoE shatter still in addition to releasing a seeker if you're a warlock.
It's best used with an exotic that increases sprint speed / slide distance as this helps accomodate for a lackluster range stat.
I think shadebinder warlock will be the clear winner for best pairing with conditional Finality, it simply offers too much in the way of synergy as well as allowing you to close distance / retreat with a wide variety of slowing and freezing effects.

We got a void exotic last year, i bet they just wanted some variety. And while it does sound fun to add a void debuff, i don't think it'll work like that. But maybe master will bring the catalyst. And two tailed fox this thing 🙃
@@aljazslemc9569 I doubt they will ever make us do the master raid for a cata. They will probably go the path of VoG and kings fall where it’s just super annoying and convoluted.
Why dungeons and not raids? A lot more people feel comfortable doing dungeons.
fun fact: the freeze & ignite effects activate from shooting immune shields, which is huge against phalanxes (not to mention the unstoppable phalanxes)

This has got to be one of my favorite exotics to come out of this game in a while, and it's really nice to see the nice it's carved out for itself. Simply by virtue of being a shotgun, it can be hard to justify bringing into harder content, especially when it's competing with the almighty witherhoard and exotic power weapons for it's place in your loadout. In close-quarters missions though, it can be a lifesaver, and it's damage output and utility are second to none.
A really fun exotic that balances it's high power with requiring a risky playstyle.
Got this on my third run. About 40 pvp kills on it so far. It's so fun. High handling Doom gun. Love it.
How is the range? Is it ok?

Interesting note, if you pick up an orb to start a surge while the gun is in solar mode if it's a solar surge the gun will have the surge until you lose all your armour charge. Same goes for
Stasis if it's in stasis mode. It does not however get the bonus if it's in the opposite element and no longer can until you refresh your armour charge. Also only seems to work with stasis mods for reserves and reload even though it swaps to solar before you reload it.
What if you shoot the stasis pellets and rally while having the solar pellets, will you get solar charges?
@@Viewstar from my testing it doesn't work, it also will always fire the single shot solar even if you only reload with one bullet left.
Wanted to make a build for the gun. Came to promethium spur considering that it works with solar siphon mods and fragments like solar weapons give more time for radiant and restoration. So that with ignites scorching everything for big class ability uptime meant I’m putting rifts everywhere. 2-3 depending on add density and top it off with special ammo finisher. Really fun build.
Not only the aim, but also the ice and fire on the gun indicating wich damage it's going to use. When you use the stasis shot, the ice breaks and only fire is left on the gun. Then the fire is off after you use it too.
I assume the reason why it says 5 is because the catalyst will increase its magazine size. And they forgot in classic developer fashion.
increasing it to 5 would mean potentialy all the elements(stasis,solar,strand,arc,void)
I hope it doesn't, we finally get a double barrel shotgun and then they're just like "nope, sike, it's a 5 mag"?

i think originally they might have thought to give 5 elemental shots , so that why its showing 5 in magzine . i think catalyst might give all elementals or increase mag by 3 with damage increase
I feel like if it gave it all elements it might become an amazing Exotic I’m not sure where to put it right now I haven’t done the raid yet to test it but it seems cool

That, or a legendary double-barrel that's comparable.
Preferably one with one-two punch. So you can pair it with synthocepts and the winterbite on a strand titan and create a Doomslayer build.

weird interaction: if you have the shotgun equipped in pvp, and are on your solar shot, other players stasis shots will register in the solar circle pattern on your end. neat thing i found while testing the gun with a friend since we got it at the same time
1st clear and I haven’t taken it off since. Thought it was going to be trash and fell in love. Does crazy damage, fast reload and being able to grapple melee and fire destroys everything. The ignitions also clear out surrounding ads easily.

Ive been running the campaign with it and being able to freeze the tanky ads so we can ad clear is just too good 👌
take it into the Calus final encounter on legendary. and see how the Tormentors like it.

another fun little tidbit, you can snipe bosses with the ignition just like how you could 1-2 punch bosses from a mile away

On my 5th run I got Conditional finality, it truly is an unstoppable monster both in champion terms of usability. The freezing of a an enemy can help you escape or deal some more damage, the ignition can clear a cluster of enemies or even just deal bonus damage to large target. With 600 kills on it (in pve) I gotta say it’s just a super fun raid weapon. Both reliable and versatile. It can even help by freezing overloads and barriers if you’re in a pinch and need some room to SKIDADDLE. Best raid exotic we’ve gotten in a while and I rate it a solid 9/10 in both PVE and PVP. Freezing a super is fun, but you know what else is fun? Igniting that super after they’re frozen. Could use an ornament to make it look like a real break open double barrel shotgun but hey, that last ones just a fantasy
I'm so excited to get this weapon. Even if it's not the best at anything, it looks super cool and seems like it'll be really good in PVE.
Well I mean, dealing with 2 champs in 1 gun, is pretty good, also pair it with a good energy primary and a rocket or high dps weapon and I’d say you’re pretty set tbh
It may not be the best at anything, but it’s good at everything. At close range, at least. Also, super high total damage for a special weapon.

Its also the first special that can easily be both unstoppable and anti barrier. (Chill clip and incandescent can also do it but it needs more set up then a bonk hammer and shoot.)
So does the Stasis shot just apply a lot of Slow stacks then which although it instantly freezes a target also allow it to work on barrier champs?
@@LucDeTruc no just use the titan bonk hammer with the fragment and it gives the gun anti barrier and since the effects of the gun and not the gun itself causes unstoppable stun you get 2 chams in one gun
Finality has basically turned my Hunter Tripmine build into even more of an ignition menace.
With the power of Shaq's icyhot, even you can shred champions in endgame content with this exotic shotgun.
Fun fact, you can barrel stuff a barrier champion with the stasis round and freeze them out of their shied if the first 2 shots didn’t kill them fast enough.
Imma sucker for duality type things (Light and dark, fire and ice, that kinda thing) so this weapon is DEFINITELY something I’m gonna be shooting for. And with, once I get it

Guns feels great, haven't taken it into Crucible but in other content it definitely holds its own
Got it on my first run. It feels amazing to shoot, less amazing on the reload with auto fire on. Don't know what it is but there's a delay on reload once empty, and a delay on fire after reload. Maybe it's shotguns in general that do this, I haven't really touched them since Felwinter's was updated with Surplus. Don't see this being a boss DPS go to, but for trash mobs this could be a pretty good option. Ember of Eruption for a larger explosion, Ember of Char to spread Scorch, Whisper of Fissures to increase crystal blast zone, Whisper of Bonds to gain Super, lots of fun combos to be had. Holstering also works. Fire off a freeze, then holster for a free-ze reload, or fire off both, then holster to get only the Solar shot back. The gun it self isn't that powerful, but those elemental effects are so good.
Don't think I've seen this mentioned, but the exotic will also proc the origin trait of the other raid weapons while you have it equipped
I did RON last night with clan mates, had a bit of fun and had a bit of moments of uneasy of how easy everything felt.
Regardless, I got the exotic on my first ever run of RON (all warlocks all solar to double down on those triumphs that increase the chances for it to drop). Can't wait to mess around with the shotty both in PVE and PVP. Could prove to be very useful in Lost Sectors too.
Ok so I’ve waited a while to comment here, got 18,000 kills with this thing in PvE and have taken it into master arms dealer and Lake of shadows so far.
Stasis Synergy for PvE on a warlock was great and was what I was running with it for a long time. The just add control of it that you can keep up whilst deleting on a champion is too great to be Ignored
Solar Synergy on a warlock again was my second use with this weapon, can be relatively mid since it doesn’t do enough dmg to wipe everything nearby like a mini thermonuclear bomb like it does in low level content. Kinda sad, although I did near the end of my 2 weeks using it start using Dawn chorus with it, that tiny bit of extra scorch damage made it actually kinda useful in master content. Was quite happy with this find :D
Void Synergy, idk pretty mid only spent a couple hours with it on void hunter. Was cool to sneak freeze unstops got some pretty cool ideas in the future I’ll comment here if work.
Arc Synergy. AND HOLY SHIT. Please do not sleep on the thing with arc, the assassins cowl build that I did some modifications to from mactics mainly for more ammo. Invis, Freeze, Ignite, Jolt, Blind, back invis again. Monster in master lake and was especially great in arms considering the high amount of phalanx fucks.
In overall consideration, great exotic. Wish it was a bit more survivable on stuff other than hunter but ahhh it’s a shotgun what are u expecting :)
Edit: Abeyant Leap Titan is good for not getting yeeted and deleted by stomps although I don’t understand the point considering it freezes on the 1st shot anyway.
Also btw pls comment recommendations for builds with this thing for me to try. I really enjoy using it as u can probs tell from the kills 😅. Defo trying to take this thing into gms at some point

It kinda feels more like doomguy shotgun but now he has hell fire power mix with frost giant powers into a gun
The 5 mag size has me wondering if the catalyst for this is going to be madness that adds a shot type for every subclass element, since 2 dark & 3 light subclasses total 5. That's the only reason I can think of for the error, maybe the missing raid lore books are linked to the catalyst if this does turn out to be the case.

Give it a catalyst third shot and the reticle is the final shape (circle with a triangle in the middle) and make it do maybe strand?

That Raid transition was smooth as hell.
I found out something interesting while testing with this weapon, rather said the freeze of it.
Turns our its a better version of one-two punch for strand titan (that's what I tested it with). The strand powered melee did about 10% more damage to a frozen target than it did with a one two punch shotgun.
Also one-two punch is not doing the correct amount of damage buffing dim sais 40% buff on powered melees but its 100% on the powered strand melee. Still the melee against the frozen target did even more.
Please correct me if i messed something up in the calculations
but this seems a bit too strong since frozen enemies only take 5% increased damage from light subclass melees
Shaq freezes his mortal enemies and then turns them to ash just like this shotgun does

This gun + grapple has made me feel more like doom guy than I ever thought possible

This is a perfect Exotic weapon in a game that's overfilled with them. It's perfection. The fact that it's Solar and Stasis, a double-barreled Shotgun with a 2 shell "magazine", the reticles, the pellet spreads, and the VFX and sounds. If it has a Catalyst it better not add a third effect or a larger magazine (they ruined The Fourth Horseman by increasing it's mag with the Catalyst).
I just got this shotgun and it is a monster against Unstoppables because both ignition and shatter will stun them. The short range takes some getting used to

I got this gun form my Dayone drop. I would like to call this gun the "Unstoppable Prozac".
This is the sort of exotic that makes you want to do the raid.
I plan to weekly find a group on Nezerac to join and bully the little shit until he gives me my Super Shotgun for my Titan

Already racked up over 300 kills on it, I also went flawless twice, the second time I went on a confidence card. This is my new favorite shotgun to run in pvp
I been using this this with Strand and it's actually an amazing back up weapon when my punches arnt enough. Genrade punch a group shotty the survivors with freezing or explosions XD
I got this shotgun on my first completion and it's my favortie Exotic so far. The utility this gun has in a PvE setting where you're able to get up close to the enemy is incredible, as already pointed out this gun is very usefull against unstoppable champions and bigger enemies. The only issue I found in PvE was the limited useability in endgame content sadly :(.

It's a double barrel shotgun, that's how it works, only 2 shots per load, you can't ask for a bigger magazine.

I hope they fix the RPM because it’s a 165 and it gets major trigger lock after the first shot trying to follow up with the next. A legendary shotgun that’s 70RPM is faster than it

So 2 ways to fix the gun. Either up the ammo to 5 to match the text, or change the 5 to 2 in text to match the gun
This weapon definitely shut down the unstops when I was playing Partition
This was the first raid weapon I've ever gotten on first run. I couldn't believe it. It took me over 70 runs to get vex, so I had no hope 😆

on our team's first clear half of us got it and half of us didnt, I was lucky to be in the half who got it, and the thing freakin slaps. pesky crowd of scorn be-gone with the ignition shot, and so long to having to worry about most champs lol, the thing is great and I love it

It's interesting that there's no catalyst. Maybe that Mag stat represents a catalyst stat and they mistakingly left it in?

I was a lucky fool who got it my first clear, and I love it so far. I’ve not even really been building into it but using it on solar warlock with ophidians feels fantastic if a bit overkill for handling

This gun is great in mayhem. The supers come swinging right into your range for the quick freeze boom.
