Perfectly sums up how I feel about Magmatron. Biggest take away for me is how this feels like an old school leader. Very satisfying seeing him stand about as tall if not taller than the 2007 Movie Optimus Prime. Love how mean, intimidating and solidly connected the combined robot is while the sword, and shield solidly fasten on. Transformation is indeed a chore, and while not complicated just obnoxious, especially the sword hilt assembly. Never attempted the combined assault mode when I had him taken apart but maybe some day. The most fun Commander Class for me to flip between modes is probably Earthrise Skylinx as all three are great and effortless to transform.
I gotta say, lil bit jeloouse, one I wanted but have nad zero luck finding in the wild. He does look great in all his modes, and outside of a bit of missing paint here and there terrific.
I don't overly like the individual dinos as the price point doesn't allow for Voyager and Leader class size dinos, but the main figure, when combined, is brilliant. It's an awful lot to fit into one figure, even at Commander, so it's done pretty well. He looks great.
When I was collecting Japanese Beast Wars toys in '99 I never correlated to me that Magmatron was much larger than Big Convoy. Making him bigger I was surprised myself when they said commander class. Now I see the way Hasbro does leader I'm kinda glad he was commander. Hopefully if they do a Big Convoy drops I'll accept leader class as the best option for him

I'm not gonna do it too many times...but I like how he pulls apart.

he has more paint than the original toy
Magmasaurus Chimera!
Look like something from the Book of Revelation
Quetzalcoatlus was actually a pterosaur, just like the pteranodon (translated to English: quetzalcoatlus was a flying dinosaur).
He was, but more to it than that...so he was something different. Aztec feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl.
Fantastic review Super Robot Ed!!! I hope that we get a modern figure of Big Convoy to stand opposite Magmatron. :D Keep on being amazing.
I hope so too!
Magmatron stomps the competition.
It's an impressive figure!!!
"Was kind of a beast"
A few more days his will be in my hand!!!
he is worth it!!!
