The actual real-life names of Magmatron's components: ● The Landsaurus is a Giganotosaurus, which is one of the largest predatory dinosaurs to have ever existed (larger than Tyrannosaurus rex but smaller than Spinosaurus), and was the main dinosaur antagonist of Jurassic World: Dominion in 2022; ● The Skysaurus is a Quetzalcoatlus, which is not a dinosaur but a pterosaur and the largest creature that ever flew due to it possessing a wingspan of 36 feet, but the head design on this figure for me gives off major Jurassic World: Dominion Quetzalcoatlus vibes due to its head being similar to the Quetzalcoatlus from the movie; and ● The Seasaurus is an Elasmosaurus, which is a member of a group of marine reptiles called plesiosaurs that are known for having two pairs of paddle-like limbs and, in some species like Elasmosaurus, tiny heads perched on the end of long necks, but this particular animal went to extremes by having a neck that was half its body length and consisted of 72 vertebrae.

For a figure I have no interest in, I've now seen quite a few reviews on him, and I have to say, this was definitely the most entertaining. The love for the character really comes through. Well done, my dude.
You have a slight mistransformation on the landsaurus legs - it's easy to miss, but on the back, the hydrolic pipes plug into the back of the leg so that the knee moves as one angled unit in beast mode while retaining the actual articulation point.
My first exposure to Magmatron was just a random image used in a Transformers history softcover, and as someone who had absolutely NO idea what a "beast wars" was, nevermind the Japanese side of things, I was like "who the heck is that guy? What does he turn into? Is he a triple-changer? I see a t-rex head, a brontosaurus and a pterodactyl thing here and there, what IS this guy?"

I'm loving the look of the figure, your review has done him a great justice... I'm still weighing the wallet on whether I get this dude or Tidalwave whose due out soon haha
Mine is hopefully coming in this week, way too excited for this beast(s)! The Neo cast was fun, but this guy was probably the most interesting member, especially towards the end. I wonder which actor could do a good English edition of his voice. I can only assume this guy exists because of the Victory Haslabs raking in massive numbers, which might have been taken as a sign of serious demand for more Japanese show characters. Maybe his IDW role and BM release helped pitch him? Neo still (to my understanding) isn't really legally available in any language other than Japanese, so people might be missing most of the stories that use this character. Makes his presence as a big cornerstone for this year kind of funny. I never would have counted on a hype train for Magmatron of all characters.
I'm so happy with him. I think as well, now that Hasbro and Takara doing the same releases they need to reprsent that market and the media they were exposed more.
It's funny how in the beginning transformers were so easy to convert, but over the years they just got soooo hard and complicated to change!🙄🙄🙄🫨🫨🫨 Very frustrating
