I would like to tell you a story about this song. In 1999, my oldest brother was diagnosed with HIV, he contracted it through a homosexual lifestyle. I knew he was sick well before that. In mid 2000, it went into full blown AIDS. In November of that year my Mom drove him up from Fla. to North Carolina to a Gaither Homecoming concert at Crown Collesium in Fayetteville N.C. I had been sharing the gospel with Dan for several months before that, and Jessy Dixon sang this song,"Gone" , and I asked Dan, do you believe the tomb is empty Danny? I will never forget how I held him that night as he wept, I saw the most beautiful picture of Salvation that night, I saw Mercy that night, and I know when my time comes, I will see Danny again. Satan may destroy the body, but the Spirit, the victory belongs to The Lord!!!
Jesse was a true servant of the Lord. He wrote the songs, sing the songs, live the life, walk the walk and talk the talk. I thank God for his life. Jesse’s life on this earth is a testament to all blood washed christian.
