Gold. That moment when your activity leads to the debrief conversation, which leads to individuals finding value in their own facilitation interactions, leading to a man’s vulnerable share: that raising a non verbal child has made him acutely aware of tuning into others. “Needs and wants are more than just words” This whole group was elevated. *Agency and Autonomy in participation*
What a great energiser for my day. I was reviewing my own skills and what I want to build to give my group participants a better experience. I have gone from a moment of confidence loss to feeling empowered and excited about what I do and how I can enable others to do that too. Thanks so much for sharing this and thanks to this amazing group who shared their skills, experience and stories of connection.
Love hearing this clip sparked a shift from deflated to energized! Thanks for sharing. Facilitation can definitely leave you with a "vulnerability hangover" as Brene Brown would put it.
Wow, I think we truly are twins - I could see myself doing it all 🙂Love the content, and oh so relevant for developing and enhancing the skills of facilitators. Well played. Oh, and there is no learning without reflection. Period. I didn't make this up, it's a fact.
Mmm! Zero learning without reflection. Important idea to hold onto. A single question can turn an experience into a USEFUL memory instead of just a memory 👍👍
I’m going to say this aloud…I want to do what you’re doing. I want to be a great facilitator to facilitate groups to solve problems in their orgs, but not sure how to achieve this without being a subject matter expert. I would desire to go to different types of organizations. I don’t want to be a motivational speaker, but I want to help orcs solve their problems. More research needs to be done.😊
Right! Such a valuable contribution. And you ONLY get people to speak up like that if you give them the opportunity. Designing for contribution over consumption is so, so important.

I'd highly suggest seeing if this book feels like a fit for your to think through this idea a bit more: thoughtleaders.com.au/student-journey/
18:28 This man really elevated this presentation for me.

Great video, once again. Thanks, Chad!
