Could you imagine a Lucario winning a Big House event? I mean if Amsa did it with Melee Yoshi, then either Armadillo or Tsu can do it with Ultimate Lucario.
Cool fact, Armadillo has said he doesn't like the way aura works and it's not the reason he plays lucario. He plays lucario cause he loves the crazy movement and stuff he can do like wavebounce charge shot into bair. He thinks it would be better if aura wasn't as strong but the character was also less bad without it.

That's a pretty common thing among Lucario players. Having a substantially less extreme aura/not having aura is generally preferable than the current setup. With less extreme aura Lucario would probably have gotten some nice stuff like an up smash scoop that doesn't suck and not having a full tail hurtbox and would retain the best parts like AS shenanigans

That’s unfathomably based. I actually really like Lucario, but hate the way Aura works. It’s the only thing that’s stopped me from playing him. If Aura was balanced out to just increase Lucario’s base power without Aura but decrease his power at max Aura, or even just reworked to where he gains buffs at 100% like Terry and Kazuya do, then he’d feel much less cheesy than he currently does as a fighter. I’d also prefer it if Lucario didn’t gain/lose out on damage depending on the stock difference between him and his opponent. I feel the same as Armadillo, I really do like Lucario, I just hate how Aura punishes you for doing well and rewards you way too much for being behind
The only thing I hate about Lucario is the up special.

Love seeing Lucario. He was one of the hardest characters for me to wrap my head around, but after getting to his somewhat weird moves, and learning how to love aura, and he flows and plays like no one else and it's hard to stop playing him.
I tried forever to learn how to play him, but I literally cannot.
In the end, I became cracked at little Mac. But. I miss the old days…
4:50 if you tap shield for less than 4 frames you don't get shield coming out, thats how he does it. All charge shots characters can do it I think. You see Sheiks do it all the time as well

Finally, Lucario is proven viable. Not broken, but viable. Repeatedly we see random characters, that were completely written off, do well all of the sudden. This is why I love Smash.
Honestly, I love ESAM. He is open minded and isn't someone to ignore your opinion just because you don't have major wins on your belt. Love the guy.
Most characters are viable in this game, hell, King Dedede won a major in 2021 and he’s currently ranked bottom 3 on the UltRank tierlist. Unviable only really belongs to Ganondorf at this point

@@randompianist8359 The logic behind that makes absolutely no sense. You can't call this a flukey run; *this was a supermajor.* You results-focused people drive me nuts. Even when the results are there you don't give certain characters a chance.
Gonna be honest I didn't expect a Gravity Falls reference at the begining
this is why I love watching pools at majors. you get to see underrated players all the time and it's so fun to start rooting for them once you've watched them a couple times. like I remember watching Armadillo almost beat Jake once and ever since then I always get excited to watch him play. and that leads to awesome moments whenever they go on a crazy run cause you were watching the whole thing
He did beat Jake at LMBM, he just lost the runback.
@@druizcardenas312 yeah I remember that. well specifically I remember him beating a steve then losing to another (I actually thought it was Onin he lost to before I went back to check) but either way it was a really exciting run
Buffering lucario dair is actually a weird yet functional two frame. You only go up just enough to be airborne, and due to that the hits hit super far below ledge
I went to collision as my first major and Armadillo asked me to play friendlies, its crazy to see him now make top
8 at at such a huge event, very epic tho I'm a big Lucario enjoyer =)
I have good SDI, my friend struggles to even get drag downs on me.. People I face can't get landing multi hits to confirm.. This man Armadillo makes me look like I can't SDI. The man's is INSANE and I love seeing it. People don't practice it enough.

I too aspire to be good with blue furry Goku. I‘ve actually always liked Lucario and considered picking him up, I just hate how Aura works. What finally pushed me to pick up Lucario was hearing that Armadillo also dislikes how Aura works and thinks that Lucario’s base power should be stronger at the cost of him being rewarded far less for being behind, yet he likes Lucario in terms of character/moveset and continued to play him. He’s a fun character and I’m glad I picked him up
If lucario down air spiked, it would be the best two frame hands down. Lasts awhile, hits super far below ledge when buffered, and aura.
And it’s frame 4 which is CRAZY

I always thought Lucario was underrated. I'm not saying he's like REALLY GOOD. But he's definitely underrated. I said so in chat in your stream once too, Lucario and Marth is what I said there.
It's hard to be underrated in an entire cast that has people swearing they're underrated because of one top rep besides like 5 characters, every low-mid tier character has people saying they are sleeper high tier
@One of the 12 Sion Mains Every character in the game has someone that had popped off with them at least once I feel
Characters like Lucario, Dr. Mario, Jigglypuff, Little Mac, Piranha Plant, Krool, DK, Dedede, Incineroar, etc are much less common though and really only a select few of those have had really strong runs to a top 8
Every character from both ends of the tier list have had relevant upsets though

Not a fan of pop-offs and pop-off culture-wish ppl could treat this more sportslike and not bury their opponent by dancing on top of them after they are done. I may be really old fashioned and wrong here.
I would love to see a set with you vs Armadillo if you could find a way to make that happen for a video. I'm curious how your IC would work vs them and your Brawler. Mostly I want to see how hard it is for Pika to play vs Lucario. I can't imagine it so I'd like to see it first hand from two good players.

You must understand this is their life, not just a sport. They relate more to their character than real people. The best in the world doesnt even make 100k a year, so every win is life or death for these people if they ever want to get out of moms house.

LUCARIO IS OP: CHANGE MY MIND
Reasons:
-Fair Loops are stupid offstage
-Bair just kills
-Dash Attack is like links nair, it can block any projectile
-Up tilt can clash with airborne attacks and is a great anti-air
-Great floaty jumps
-OP airdodge
-Counter
-Aura Mechanic is so op
-Up B is basically impossible to predict since you can do all sorts of curves and stuff, so you cant edge guard him

i love lucario, stealing stocks with random back-airs is SO satisfying… and gettin those reads with side-b as well…
only thing i dont like is some of his normal moves are kinda weird, like jab, down-air and forward-air, forward-air can combo but like… its just ok at it.

Idk if lucario is truly good, but i feel like he’s one of if not the weirdest/most unique character in the game. Floaty movement, aura as a comeback mechanic, and a charge shot where the charge up is arguably more threatening than the projectile itself. No characters truly plays like he does, i just don’t know if what he does is good
That’s how I feel too. I honestly feel similarly about incineroar, I think Skyjay is just cracked and he had such good burst options that are great in tournament settings
He’s not good, but he’s one of the best X factor characters

The main weakness of Lucario is that he’s in Smash Ultimate, so by playing well enough to where you avoid many of those conditions where Lucario, like most other characters in Ultimate, just explode, you can definitely get a lot more mileage off of Aura and, by proxy, Lucario becomes a way better character because he gets way more opportunities to take advantage of the factors that are supposed to make up for his flaws, which is how we end up in situations like this where Lucario just goes on insane runs out of nowhere. Good shit to Armadillo, can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
I don't understand why people think Lucario is bad. I don't see weakness as big as ganon or mac but Lucario is often just above those two in many TL...
The problem is that in Ult, nearly every character consistently killconfirms you at 80 or lower, combined with Lucario being pretty light. So Lucarios whole gameplan is about only being good at high percent while oftentimes he just straight up does not get to high percent
Cancelling Aura Charge is just pressing the shield button fast enough for the shield to not appear. Pretty sure every charge shot character can do that.

Finally people are starting to see why Lucario is really good
People rank Lucario too low because of his learning curve. But once you get the hang of his move set and use him on a consistent basis, he is definitely a competitively viable fighter.

Lucario is terrible if you just run away after stock 1
I don't know if you mean projectile camping or circle camping but if you're referring to circle camping then that game plan sounds a bit flawed against Lucario because Lucario out speeds like half the roster so it's pretty likely that Lucario will be able to out maneuver or at least keep up with the opponent who's trying to run away (and Lucario also could just take this opportunity to freely charge their Aura Sphere if they want to)

@@RandomStando The Aura Sphere part was ASSUMING they ALSO had high Aura along with being down a stock. One thing that DOESN'T change with Lucario's Aura is their movement speed. If you run from Lucario, they'll easily be able to catch up and punish your defensive retreating options and easily corner you no matter how much Aura they have. Lucario's movement is like their only good aspect at 0% Aura for a reason.

@@RandomStando It is but damage is damage. The damage that was slowly racked up by low Aura Lucario will be useful for when Lucario's at a high enough Aura to finish them off. It's like the 2 year old (0% Aura Lucario) punching is just to stall for time to try to waste as much of their energy as possible and then the buff guy (high Aura Lucario) eventually comes in to absolutely destroy them while they're still tired from wasting their energy on fighting the 2 year old (who was secretly just stalling for time to hopefully wear them out a little before the buff guy comes into the fight so that it gives then buff guy an easier time to win against them).

Lucario is a good character, not enough ppl play him. We’ve seen this over and over with “low tiers” actually turning out to be good with the right pilot. I HATE tier lists because they’re super subjective and rarely accurate.
