Rob Halford (lead singer of Judas Priest) went solo for awhile and made an insane live album called Halford - Live Insurrection which was chock full of Judas Priest songs done with such energy and awesome performances; he was hitting very high notes circa 2001. I recommend from the Halford - Live Insurrection album: Resurrection, Into The Pit, Riding On The Wind, Nailed To The Gun, Running Wild, Slow Down, The One You Love To Hate, Silent Screams. You've already done Hellion/Electric Eye, but the version on this live album is great.
I've seen priest every time they have been in Montreal since 1984 for defenders of the faith. My first show at age 14. Without a doubt the best live band. No other group brings a live show like priest. It's a religious experience. They (ironically) were dragged into court over a young persons suicide. The reality is that they kept this teenager alive. Because of Glenn Tipton I play guitar. Because of Rob Halford I chose to fight on
I'm rewatching this again where are you guys? I'm a fellow massage therapist and physical therapist for 27 years...and metal lover what's up? Y'all doing okay?
Yeah, people think Priest is an 80s band... they don't realize Priest was fine tuning Metal starting in '74. There is so much Metal sounds\styles created on their 1st 5 never mind what they did in the early 80s. Remember when they said Priest was old Metal was done Priest put out Painkiller in their early 40s and still in 2024 putting out a fantastic Metal album.
Yeah Judas Priest 🤘🏻In September this year they will come together with Ozzy to my home city here in Hamburg. Judas Priest was ever a part of my life and will ever be. Great reaction again of you both 🇩🇪🇺🇸🤘🏻Greetings
I love this song I loved running to it and singing what I can at the same time and pretty much love drumming any Judas Priest is a blast! First time tuning and thank you guys!
Rob doesn't "sing" in four octaves. He does have a high scream, but screaming isn't the singing "voice"....If you want to hear someone singing in three octaves here. btw, his falsetto adds another octave higher note, but only one note. Youll notice his low voice isn't "grovel" and his high voice has different notes and is smooth ua-cam.com/video/LZuF_ei8nsM/v-deo.html
Great request. Rob was still experimenting quite a lot and trying to find his signature sound. You can hear his opera training dominating the bulk of his efforts......but hey, that's great.....no complaints here.
Just now noticing you guys did this tune. I know I requested it many times. It's a real rock n roll gem that many have never heard. Thanks for doing it finally!!
I've probably watched this concert a thousand plus times!!! And I listen to this song almost everyday!!! If you don't have the cd " A Touch of Evil" you need to get it!!! Its what I start my day off with!!! Keep Rocking it out!!!
This is a beautiful song to review. Thank you. My cousin and I, use to listen to this when were 12 ( a year after this came out ) and never looked back. The metal god rules! Keep up the video reviews.
An isolated 14-year old stuck in Winslow Arizona after my dad was transferred; no friends; the new guy; a huge nerd....but I had Metal. Judas Priest, and later Maiden, Ozzy, Sabbath, Scorpions, UFO, AC/DC, and too many more to list. Stained Class is still my all-time favorite Priest album. Top to bottom it just rules.
Thank you guys. I knew you would come through. love you. On your own time check out the studio version amazing vocals. Robs vocals were shot in that concert
Priest can do a ballad like no other and then crank it up to 10 then slow it right down. Glen Tipton and KK Downing's solos are awesome. BRITISH METAL RULES!
Love you both. My first albun I bought was Killers, A;ice Cooper. I bought it because it had a snake on the cover. It was the cheapest record in the store, 4 bucks . Desperado was written by Alice for his pal Jim Morrison,
As much as i love and appreciate Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Pantera, etc.....Judas Priest are on another level.....and 'live' are simply amazing. Rob Halford has by far the voice in metal, rock, period! Love your reactions btw...🤟😎from Down Under
My all time favorite song by the Priest.Rich, you should jump into Priest’s albums Sin after Sin and Stained Class. They have the melodic sound you love.Albums before those are a bit bluesy and more rock and the albums after stained class move more towards the more poppy metal side although there are very melodic guitar solos..another great reaction to the Metal Gods!
This was from their Japanese gig. Look how out of breath Rob is at the end. He put it all into it. I watch this over the studio version. You get to see the solos! I bugged you forever. You liked it. Plenty more Priest out there!
🤘😎🤘 I love that you guys do live versions. I’ve always said that a band is worth their weight in metal if they can put it all together in a live performance! Good work love you guys

Kel, Rich i love you guys and I love how you are loving Priest I've been a fan of judas Priest since the sad wings of destiny album, now please from the same concert "RISING IN THE EAST " check out "Touch of Evil" you'll love it!!! 🤟
2004 to 2010 was the worst period for Halford's voice. You should have checked the 1978 Live In Japan video to hear what Rob sounded like in his prime. Nowadays, going on 70, Halford sounds way beter again and is again able to capture those high notes.
@@SwoopingMagpie67 Live In Japan 1978 was four songs done live for Japanese TV as a promo. In a studio or not, it was entirely live. You seem to be confused with Unleashed In The East, maybe? The recordings were never released on vinyl or CD, to my knowledge.
Rob Halford's solo stuff, after he left Priest for a period, is incredible, especially the Live Insurrection LP. It's as good as anything Priest ever did i.m.o.
And don't forget I told you about that flying v guitar by KK Downing in an earlier priest comment you may not have seen it but maybe Jared was well aware of what a rocking guitar looks like
Yes mate,I didn't realize they were two different albums, it's common knowledge that Unleashed in the East was supposedly unleashed in the studio. Thanks for pointing the difference.
I agree. However, it's good to see him use improvisational techniques on those high notes he cant hit anymore. On your own time, you two should take a listen to the studio version. Just drop a shout out in some other video or on here and let's us know what you thought please :)
Sounding as good as when I last saw them on stage in the 1980s. They look a little more road worn than then but then again, so do I. Rob still had a great voice then.
If you would like to hear some blues based rock jam that kicks ass try Deep Purple's "Mistreated!" Off of their "Burn" album. You will like it I am sure! : EDIT TO ADD.. You really need to listen to this song it features one of the best guitarists Ritchie Blackmoore and the vocals are done by David Coverdale and Glen Hughes on this album. Of course Coverdale is now fronting his own band Whitesnake. Hell you might like it enough to put it on your "other list" LOL
I see that you really like JP and Rob, so I recommend you song from Robs solo band Halford, live version from the Rio event - on youtube you find that under "Halford - Silent Screams (Live at Rock In Rio)" - this exact version, for Halfords passion and emotions streaming down to your faces and ears, that is THE stage presence ....
I know you guys just did Beyond the realms of death but if you could do "Beyond The Realms Of Death" from the Rock in Rio tour from 1991 id appreciate it. Thanks
I agree with those who say that this wasn't the best version of this song - BUT: if you listen to the album version and you compare both you can see pretty well how Rob Halford works around his loss of range. He takes things down a noth or two and adds more texture to his voice. More grit, more depth, growls a bit more. This is a great song to explore his voice changes. The Range Place (a forum that discusses singers' vocal ranges) classifies Rob as "Victim Of Voice Changes" - and here you can very clearly tell the difference. He has recovered a bit, he is more able to sing high notes these days - but screams take more out of him.
I have a request guys. I know this is the first time ive requested but i hope you do this one. Its Watching over me by Iced Earth. Al Neuman the one you love to hate duet live with Bruce Dickinson

Oh hey! Kel got attacked by a pitbull and is on a medical leave.
My 2nd favorite Priest song, the original power ballad. Glen Tipton's guitar solo is legendary and KK's wailing solo at the end is phenomenal .
I wonder whats your 1st favourite. Probably Sinner I guess
@@ironmaidenfan2144 Sinner isn't a ballad. I think Last Rose Of Summer and Here Come The Tears are the only ballads in Sin After Sin.

h6 that's exactly what I always say about this song.
