Sorry for the audio drop at 27:05! Here's what I said: "All right. I like your drums, dude. The first thing that comes to mind is actually in these kind of stripped back drum parts - there's three of them here in the start of the song - I think you just need to do more of an effect there. So check this out."
@@joeygproducedit7863 I'm quickly learning that....but it already has its hooks in me. A buddy told me he was "thinking about messing around with home recording." I said: "Don't. There's no 'messing around' about it. Even if you don't want to make it your career...it will quickly start to feel that way." Lol.
Mate this song is so catchy! Who is the artist if you dont mind me asking? That chorus is stuck in my head and ive only heard it once! 😂

@@SimpleGamer- thanks so much! It’s my own song actually 😄 some people say that you shouldn’t mix your own music, but I like to be in control through the whole process 😁
Hi Jordan, Alessandro here, I opened the video and was super excited when I heard my mix as first review, I'm very thankful for your feedback, it really makes a big difference. I bought several of your courses in the past and they made a huge difference in the way I mix, I am really considering applying for your mentor program to improve further
Hi 😊 I used soothe on vocals and cymbals, can you give me some advice what to look for and how to hear whether I used it too much? That would be helpful to avoid the same mistake in the future
Absolutely, you want to use the mic knob that plugin in for sure and pull it back down till you hear it’s taking care of the problem but not ruing the sound completely. With vocals you’ll hear the singer almost starting to develop a lisp or like they are singing with their tongue cut off, that’s when you know it’s gone to far.
Thanks man! I will try that next time, listening for the lisp is a very good tip, somehow I hadn't noticed it until now and now I hear it in all my previous mixes 😅
@@vazqueeziee that's not KSE, but it's damn close. That's not Jesse singing, the drums are different and the guitars a little mushier than the original. Feel free to prove me wrong, though
@@vazqueeziee For the first few minutes I thought it was a troll yeah, but I compared both, and you can tell it's a different singer, and also the bass tone is a bit different. But it's damn close tho.
It’s funny Jordan that you have expressed that you don’t dig into mastering but essentially what your doing here SEEMS like mastering. It sound fn better on my phone/headphones. Maybe that’s your next milestone??
Not everything needs a lot of compression. If everything is compressed too much it just kills the fidelity. I only use it to reduce the dynamic range and bring certain things forward. But I’m still learning too! It takes a while to get the hang of all the ways we can edit audio.
Don't worry, it takes time to learn how much compression is enough and how much is too much. I've been battleing with this for years and I still find myself either having too much or too little compression all the time. :D
You’re absolutely wrong. Music is a listening experience and mixing is crucial in creating that. Your statement is akin to saying movies don’t need editing or special effects lol it’s actually a very stupid opinion and is factually incorrect. It really just highlights your lack of understanding.

i loooove how u go straight into the topic. Literally after 2s the video rolls and we are in the middle of it. thank you!
Thanks for the feedback, Jordan! Will definitely crank up the compression in those parts you mentioned 🙌🏻

Thank you Jordan for your helpful feedback for Alessandro's Mix! Many greetings from Stuttgart in Germany!❤
All about that last 5%!! This is good stuff!! Hands down the best channel for mix tips!✌🤘
Maybe the darkness in the first track, where you're boosting around 7k or whatever is a monitoring thing?
12:40 lol at the host not knowing one of the most famous 2000's metalcore songs
These videos are great!
first mix 110 percent went ape shit with SOOTHE I can almost guarantee it

Really nice work! Great advice.
21:55 the baby in the background seems not to agree with those EQ moves 😅
😂 a troll sent the original song of Kill Switch Engaged
Not the original :P
Definitely not the original. A compliment to the creator that you think so, though.
That's a nice KsE cover. I almost thought it was the original track lol.
That is KSE 😆 Did someone send that to troll?

QFZ with the fire mix critique!!!
ahhh... points to whoever can read my lips?
whats the name of the first song? Is it by a band named Less than Three?
Hi, Alessandro here, I submitted the first Mix, the song is called "you don't listen" from the band PETRIKOR
Is it really too late to go back?
How can i send you a mix?
How to submit my mix for review?

no real point to mixing, 99.9 % of music wont be heard anyway and 99% is total crap
That’s a miserable way to look at things.
