- The Duchess of Cambridge joins a creative workshop run by the National Portrait Gallery's Hospital programme for patients and their families at the Evelina Children's Hospital in London.
Kate participated in a number of creative activities during her visit, including illustration, photography and set design. The Duchess studied art history at the University of St Andrews and on Sunday, she shared personal photos she'd taken of two Holocaust survivors at Kensington Palace earlier this month.

Anne Carrick Thank you Anne! I'm approaching 70 so have been following Kate from the beginning. When I watch her the song 🎶🎶 Isn't She Lovely 🎶🎶 comes to mind! William was very wise to let the Middletons remain a vital influence and help in the family he and Kate created. I believe William used the stability they represented as a blueprint in his own family life. I imagine behind the locked palace doors there is an incredible amount of hilarity, love, and laughter that this young family enjoys! I also believe Kate is an invaluable asset to the Queen and the Crown! She never puts a foot wrong for the Firm and I believe she generates harmony within the family in their everyday life. And last but not least, who can resist that dimpled smile that precedes her contagious laughter! Guess you can tell I'm her biggest "Granny" fan here in America! Your comment has raised the issue of the importance of stability. The Middletons, like them or loathe them have provided their children with a perfect template for family life. It is unlikely that a couple who enters into marriage and has children, go into it with the intention of everything failing, on the contrary, I’m guessing the intention of most (if not all) couples is to provide a loving and stable family environment.
We know that marriage is very rarely smooth sailing, but it seems the Middletons really made the stability and wellbeing of their children a priority. I agree with your post, William has benefitted from Catherine’s family’s model. I always wondered why, as members of the BRF, William and Catherine were able to almost flawlessly negotiate privacy for their children and themselves yet remaining senior royals, yet Harry and his wife obviously struggled. What is it that W&C are doing that seems to work?
Surely, Prince George in terms of succession is more important than Archie? So, why the media circus around Archie and not George? This is a genuine question put up for debate. 🇬🇧

@@elenikominos7404 Hi Eleni, the reason why the royals didn't speak to the little ones presenting the flowers before was because it was felt that there should be a distance between the royal person and the public. Royal marriages were between other royalty or certainly, noble families, so they didn't really know how to talk to the ordinary people. Today, most royals have married commoners, so the gap has disappeared. Although Princess Diana was of noble blood, she had worked with children, so knew how to break down the barriers. With William and Kate, those barriers don't exist and they are both wonderful with people they meet, thank goodness.

That woman is utter perfection. Chic yet understated, not there to get camera attention but to focus on the children. She has demonstrated a high level of emotional, cultural and intellectual intelligence, even before she married into the Establishment. This lady is so like my sister next in age to me, it's uncanny. Both looks and mannerisms, and good with children too. The first experience of a children's hospital that I had was visiting my friend who had leukaemia. She was eight years old.
