Alternate title: Rhapsodyplays spent 10 minutes feeding chocolate to a dog
The mental image of the Jabalian scoundrel wielding a triple-headed flail, a crook, an atlatl, and a longbow simultaneously is quite droll.
> "We're not gonna keep the dog, guys."
> Keeps the dog until the end of the run
Spoken like a true dog owner
The way it came down in the end. You found a really incredible build with the Big Pyg! The way luck turned against you and froze the atlatl twice; it's wild how if not for that, this would have been a full victory. Really shows how you're figuring out the strategy and the way to play items together, now you just need luck to be on your side!
The good old "By Hook or By Crook" build
4:15 dang, selling either of the small loot items would have actually won you the first battle with the 6 extra damage on dog.
Its ok to take the free chocolate bars. You can keep the money to buy and sell more stuff.
seriously. 10 gold for 100 HP is not good, better to save that gold for personal trainer if not actual items
I think you're undervaluing Personal Trainer (the pyg-only level up option that gives 25 maxHp per gold.) That's much better value than most other gold->HP conversions; for instance, you only get 10 maxHP/gold from the chocolate bars event, and only 20 maxHP/gold from silver Pyg's Gym buy-selling small bronze weapons.
Beat the lizards, now to figure out how to beat the freezers
I always, ALWAYS go to fight Joyful Jack if I can. Rapid Thaw saves lives
Oh, thats my first time seeing the Loupe nerf. Im sad to see my boy in that state, but to tell the truth it definitely deserved the nerf.
Woah, this guy seems like he might not be like other Jabalians
So you're saying that not all Jabalians are pacifists?
@@arifhossain9751 He's more like a smashifist... I'll see myself out.
does anyone else want to see the alternate reality where he takes cannonade with the skill he just got and then watch cannonade do 170 dmg every sec because of atlatl ?
this run feels like the premise: what is the training dummy fought back?
that one dooley you defeated i think had a shielded brick buddy too, that could of got dangerous fast
I wonder if you can win without consuming any chocolate - I call it the Lactose Intolerance Challenge
They need to nerf freeze, it's way too strong.
26:40 I feel like with a gold Pyg's Gym you can get at least 100 hp for 10 gold just by buying and selling random weapons, while also buffing your gym?
33:55 I'm not particularly good with pyg but I never really "got" crook. Like here, it's giving you 50dmg to all your... 5 weapons, it's really not that huge, if you remove the grindstone and flail, you'd lose 20 damage bonus but then the gym would give you 33 damage... every 5 seconds. So 4 seconds into the fight it's already better than the "crook focused" board, and it keeps scaling from there. Idk crook seems weirdly weak to me, probably I just don't know how to use it.
Also after the first few days I don't think it's worth it at all to pay 10 gold for the chocolate bars (specificially with pyg though, other characters are different) you're way better off getting the free 5. You're paying 10 gold for extra 100 HP, whereas your levelup option gets you 25HP for each gold, and also you can get 10% HP from it which is several hundred at that point as opposed to just 100, at that point there's better things to spend your gold on I think.
Jeez, it seems like you face so many more icy enchants than I do. However on day 15 it does make sense to expect something out of the ordinary since it pretty much guarantees they've hit a couple enchants at least.
I'm also still trying to figure out Crook, but I think its strength largely comes down to how good the scaling for the upgrades is. As Silver it's giving +10 damage to weapons per medium item, but that doubles for each level to +20 and finally +40. In the end it's *200* damage for all weapons at fight start, which is harder for Pyg's Gym or other scaling options to match.
@@RhapsodyPlays Yeah I think it looks good on diamond, but the prior levels seems iffy, maybe it synergizes with some other weird items I'm not thinking about as well, let's see... Only caltrops that I can see in pyg, but in other pools flamethrower seems fun, knife set, octopus (hilarious), but nothing else that's incredible.
I think it's probably about just hitting hard and fast and overwhelming with raw numbers.
Why did you lose two gold when you entered the gold-tier skill shop at 44:30?
Keeps happening. What item is doing that?
It's the gumball machine in his inventory. He gets the gumball in exchange for 2 gold.
Dooley is the unfun kind of op.
Spices where better than the dog though. It's simple math
The way I see it, taking the Dog off of the field for Spices is losing *~1047* damage per 6 seconds (847 from Dog and 20 for each other weapon per attack because of Crook losing a medium item with ~3 Longbow triggers, 1 Crook, 3 Flail, and 3 Atlatl for a total of 200) to gain *~1287* damage (Flail's new damage without Dog is 99 times 13 weapon triggers over 6 seconds where Atlatl is now hitting twice as fast).
Only problems are that I only *get* that extra 99 damage after Spices resolves 8 seconds into the fight so it takes ~10 weapon triggers after Spices to come out ahead of what the Dog would have done in that same time *and* it's vulnerable to more sources of freeze and destruction as a small item (in fact the next fight had a Beta Ray which would have almost permafrozen it).
After ~10 weapon triggers after Spices, it does come out ahead but not with a significant enough difference (~240 damage per 6 seconds) for me to give up that early damage and take that extra vulnerability. For simplicity, we'll approximate the second cast of the Dog (12s in) to be close enough to ~10 triggers after Spices. None of my enemies without permafreeze survived the second Dog bite, so I never got late enough into a fight for Spices to eclipse Dog.
Nothing about that seems particularly simple, and Spices doesn't seem better.
