    This is 4 years old but its been so helpful to read my VW diagram. I’m used to old motorcycle diagrams with no ECU. Thanks

    Thank you very much for this! You've just helped me understand what I was looking at for my Jetta! I was so confused with the extra multiple lines shown.

    General motor wiring diagram is very easy to read and understand, in this diagram how i know 5v reference or low reference or control module ground.

    • @ford873
      @ford873  10 місяців тому

      Its not always easy, on the newer diagrams they are starting to label them with a little 5v symbol. On the older ones its a process of elimination like I did in the video with the live feed. They just did not and still do not always label them.

    Im sorry, I didnt understand how do u know where T60 pin is?
    Is that pin on the ECU?

    • @ford873
      @ford873  Рік тому +2

      T60 is not a pin. T60 is the designation given to the whole connector plug that plugs into to the engine control unit. If you look at the key on the wiring diagram it shows that T60 is a 60 pin connector. This basically means it is a connector plug that has 60 wires / terminals / connections to the engine control unit on this plug. There are usually 2 connecter plugs that go to a engine control unit, the designations used are nearly always the number of wires on in the plug. ie T60 & T90. This makes it easier to tell which plug you need to look at on the ECU. The T90 would be the bigger connector plug and the T60 would be the smaller plug. If you look at the previous video to this, you can see me rewire several pins on the T60 plug and you can get a good view of what the connector plug looks like. Hope this helps.

    I have a weird problem after removing some aftermarket wires from car (2006 golf 5): front parking lights dont work. Bulbs pass continuinty test.
    I take my black and white J519 diagram, find bulb for left side, find it has a common ground with left high & low beam light, but they work, and also continuity shows ground ok. But on the power side it seems its supposed to get power supply from J519 which it doesnt, wire looks ok from J519 end but has 0 volts there and is continuous to ground. No error message on VCDS about short to power or ground. How would you diagnose it ? The J519 module spreads over many pages and its unclear what happens with the wires that go to it. I was thinking to check wiring from light switch to J519 module ?

    This was very helpful! Where can i find the pinout values and parameters? I have alldata diy, and I can't for the life of me find them!

    • @ford873
      @ford873  Рік тому +4

      That's a great question. Unfortunately if its not shown in the wiring diagrams you have access to its very hard to find unless someone can post it in a forum for you.
      A lot of the time the values you need to know can only be found inside of the test plans as your working through them on the diagnostic machine. Sadly I am not in a position to look these up for viewers.

      @@ford873 Dang, that's pretty rough for a diy mechanic to access :/
      Thank you for taking the time to respond and help me to be more informed! I'm struggling with a left headlight electrical issue, only 0.4v being sent to the low beam wire :(

    Great video & well explained. Quick question- how did you delete the unwanted wires?

    • @ford873
      @ford873  Рік тому +1

      I used Photoshop to paint out the wires, then blended between the two images using the video editing software.

    Hey great video it helped to get my head round the mess I’ve made with my vw mk5 the original sdi blew up on it and I have swapped it to a bkd block but the wiring is a problem that I can’t seem to sort where do I find full diagrams?

    • @ford873
      @ford873  2 роки тому

      As I work for Volkswagen, I can’t offer any solutions other than legal ways. There are however several companies that offer a subscription service to access the manuals and diagrams that you probably require. For example auto data. Volkswagen do also offer this service but I am not sure what the criteria is to qualify to access it.

    I have a diagram that has notes say:
    * Through November 2015
    *3 From November 2015
    what does the "Throuh" mean?

    • @ford873
      @ford873  9 місяців тому +1

      You can have contradicting information in the key. It would only be a concern if both of those were applicable to the same wire though?
      The through I would imagine just means that if your car was manufactured during November of that year, this applies to that wire.

      The wiring diagrams were edited using Adobe Photoshop and they were blended together using the editing software Hit Film. Sadly there is no actual wiring diagram software that I am aware of that operates like this. Although that would be pretty awesome if it did.
