About a year ago i was looking to buy a new Power Amplifier to replace the one i had. After reading some power amp reviews, i decided on the Rotel RB-1582MK11 because one of the reviewers said the amp had a "warm "sound. I already had a good preamplifier the Audiolab 8200Q. This combination seemed to work ok but i felt it could be better. There was a Goldmund tube preamp for sale from China for $400 so i took a chance and bought it. Now the system has come alive.
On the RB1582 MKII power amplifier, can I attach two pairs of speakers (ie. four speakers simultaneously)? One pair to the XLR outputs and the other pair to the RCA outputs?
Hey there, I was al set to get this in black but after seeing it there in your setting I think I'm gonna for the first time go with the silver.. I have always had black componets
About six months ago I picked up a refurbed 1570 and a 1552 MKII, which isn’t quite what you’ve got, but is surely more similar than dissimilar. I made great choices for my first set of separates. I’m in hog heaven and I would recommend Rotel to any friend
Was looking for a dedicated 2 channel preamp, was looking at this pre then the Rotel dealer showed me the Michi P5. He included the S5 amp for a price I couldn't refuse. No regrets although I, like you now have to up my speaker game. Thinking Sonus Fabers or Focals.
I placed order for RB-1582MKII, RC-1590MKII and T11, wanted all silver, today they let me know only black is available, don't know what to do...:((( i really wanted silver, no idea how do these units black look like alive?
In Australia I bought the RB1582MKII amp for US$1477.01 in late 2018. An amazing amp for such little money. They are now US$1812.70 so I am glad I bought it when I did. Also bought the same Pre amp this Black Friday for US$1,299.00 and the RCD 1572MKII CD player for US$738.51 which were excellent prices. My entire 15 series are black alloy finish. These do not look good in silver. Truly excellent value for money. @@0102studio
It also seems like those unattractive shiny end pieces are not as durable as the faceplate and could easily get scratched. I saw one or two units on the web where they already got scratched. I was wondering how the volume knob felt. 1) Does it turn smoothly or is it bumpy (like on, for example, the Emotiva) where for every volume number that changes on the display you feel a little resistance / bump? and 2) Is the volume know sloppy, tight or in the middle just right? Thanks in advance and thanks for the great videos!
Hey! Thanks for watching. The volume knob, from what I recall had a good feel to it, not notchy. Though I did not pay particular attention to the knob itself.
I’m looking at the 1590 to power my Polk reserve r700s . Love my polis but they r very power hungry . I’m looking at the HiFi rose 520 or maybe the 150 to operate and stream with. Do you think the Rotel 1590 will be suitable for my hungry poles? Do the Rotel shave good clean power in your opinion?I like the screen with I phone like buttons you navigate with . For someone old school like me I’m thinking the HiFi rosé devices will be easier for an old timer like me .
Why get the 1590? It's 350 watts into 8-ohm. You could just get the 1582 MkII its 325 into 4-ohm, since the R700s are roughly 4-ohm. I Have a pair of th3 R700s my self, running at around 125 watts into 4 ATM. but I'm personally probably going to get the 1582 MK II's to pair better.
@@Swiper1911 I think the 1590 goes to 4 ohms also from what I’ve heard . I don’t see either mentioned as being able to go to 4 ohms on Rotel site from what I recall . It’s a little foggy thoug/h all the numbers ,but I thought I heard mentioned the 1590 being 4 ohm to like 6 or 7 hundred watts . @@K24_V ah, that’s happened to me before. Sometimes in might come down to a ‘your room vs their room’ deal. If there’s a way to change up your listening space to replicate the room that you originally heard the system (and I’m assuming you loved what you heard) that might be a good first step before you put some money down. I type all of this also assuming and realizing that you might have already considered this! 🤣
I just subscribed because I like your non-snobby approach. And, it seems that no one cares, but man, I hate blue lights! I don't care about the shade of blue, but blue lights just look cheap to me.
No line out on that preamp....not good if you own a cassette deck, graphic equalizer, or a headphone amp....I'll grab the 1592mkii instead, which has seperate transformers for analog/digital section, and it has the line out.
I dont think there is anything wrong with older speakers. If you get flagship speakers from a decade ago they are very comparable to high end speakers of today.
@@БојанПавловић-е3й Nothing wrong with your ears, modern speakers are far more analytical than speakers from the 80s and 90s. They may not resolve every detail but are extremely enjoyable to listen too.
Rotel gear marries so well with Bowers and Wilkins speakers, and compared to other top-end audio is quite inexpensive. However, Rotel is miserably weak in terms of pushing innovation though, point in case is the remote. The remote had not been improved on since the early 90’s. utterly sad, zero innovation, imagination or thought in any form gone into it. Worse, the materials are cheap, the markings are impossibly difficult to read (dark grey on black) and there is no real logic to the organization of buttons. Especially unforgivable for a primary control device.
The Michi remote actually works on Rotel's lesser priced components. I do agree the recent post 2012 remotes are a step backwards in both quality and readibility. I just bought a Michi remote and it's beautiful!!!! @@motorhead16
