Traded in my Honda 500 for a new 750 in 1975 and took it on a 3K trip from Tulsa to an AFB in Wisconsin for training with two other crew members. Good times and a great bike.
I had a 1979 CB750K, very much like that but Candy Garnet Red (Burgundy) with fire red pinstripes and (for that year only) a plastic tail section over the rear fender... Bought it seized up and rusty (cheap) from the local Honda dealer. Got it freed and running over the Winter, did a repaint and cosmetic restoration and made it a pretty rider out of it for several Summers... Keep up the great work!
You may want to do a compression test before you go any further. Some of the older Honda's were known to have valves hang up when they sit for a while. I bought a CB900 off of Ebay years back and 3 out of the 4 cylinders had no compression even though the guy said it ran and just needed the carbs cleaned (expensive mistake I made by trusting him).
My "daily"...well, once I have her fixed up again...is a '79 DOHC CB750-F. Sadly, she got T-boned about 9 months ago, and time to heal has kept me from getting her back up to snuff yet. Love these engines. They rev freely, respond well to the throttle, and they absolutely scream as they approach redline. No dry sump like the earlier SOHC engines, but still characterful. Not fast by today's standards, but still fairly swift if kept in good tune.
🤩🇺🇸👍⚖️👁️👁️⚖️ Watch the Gasahol! Will cause carb problems! I use Sunoco Optima 95. Comes in 5 gal cans. Worth every penny! Love the work & videos!! 👍👍🏁🏁
They were the nicest Honda cb 750 of them all What came after them were pale in comparison look at all that chrome and the 750 before only had single over head cam and 8 valves The 750 kz had twin cam and 16 valves yes She was the best Glad I still have mine Phil Maguire lreland
Yep, very nice bike. That engine had a pretty long lifespan. From memory, that engine powered the first of the ' retro ' CB's of the late '90s and early 2000's.
It's not exactly the same engine, but the 2014 CB1100 looks to be almost identical. As far as I can see, it was a great basic design that lent itself to being tweaked here and there in a _lot_ of other models, and over something like 3+ decades.
It varies from state to state. In Louisiana you need to get a physical inspection from the State Police. With that and a bill of sale you can get a title.
you should not mess with motorcycles,, you forget too many things,, like in that video trying to make the engine work ,with spark plugs disconected, in another video the one where you go to missouri,to bring a ,mototrcycles you lost a gallon with gasoline, seems like those things not important for you,,,i wonder if you do some internal work on an engine and forget important things inside the engine,,,, i just dont want to imagine,,, better for you to stay away from motorcylces,,,my opinion,,,,

Love all the CB750’s.
I’m a sucker for those Honda DOHC engines.

That is a great point and something I had forgotten about. Thanks for watching!

It's running lean on one or two cylinders, need to clean the carbs.
I’m going to do that soon. Thanks for watching.
I had an 81 cb750 DOHC. Its a great bike but id rather have a pre 79 SOHC.
I agree. They are classics!
Don't eat too many Grammys donuts!
Perfect location
I’m trying.
How you get titles for these bikes if you don't have one when you buy it?
It varies from state to state. In Louisiana you need to get a physical inspection from the State Police. With that and a bill of sale you can get a title.
@motorcyclerewind ok thank you!
👏👏👏
Thanks for watching.
had an '82 750 k, should have never sold it, like butter
Lumpy
I have a few sold bike regrets. Thanks for watching.
I'm late. 😕
You can rewind if you missed anything.
I ride a 1979 CB750 Limited edition anniversary model that that bike is a worn out carbon copy for. Ar you sure its a 1980, and not a 79??
Definitely an 80 model. Thanks for watching.

We used pocket knives to crank motor cycles back then
Thats a great idea. Thanks for watching.
