Thank you so much, mate. It’s always just making mistakes and loaning as you go. Everything that is hand built is never going to be perfect, but you just do the best you can right now
Really enjoy watching how you go about doing things mate, and even the simple explanations of how things are achieved. Appreciate what your doing 👍 from Perth
You can never have enough files. I always keep an eye out for old quality files at the local market. I love the bastards...pun intended... And just a quick tip on the final finishing of a tube repair or modification. Cut a slightly larger piece of tube down the guts to make a half pipe sanding block (50-150mm long), and cyno aluminium oxide sand paper or wet n dry on the inside radius. It shows the high points in the tube repair and helps to get a perfect radius and straight lines down the tube. You can use pvc, copper, ali, steel, it doesn't matter. Great content once again, and happy new year. Stu. Melbourne
Happy new year! I watched your filing skills. Now, I don't want to sound like I'm better....but I couldn't see how you filed. As I write this, I keep thinking that I wrote this before...but anyroad, here's a technique my old teacher told me. When filing a round surface it's easy to let the file follow the shape. Now that's all fine, but it could be much better! You should make a mirrored movement. So make a U shaped motion, so the tip of the file moves upwards as the handle moves downwards. Doing so the file makes a perfect round shape regardless of your skills. This is the best way to achive the perfect shape. Makes sense? Good luck with your enterprice.
No I don’t think you’ve actually mentioned this one or at least not one that I’ve read, that’s a great tip and I’ll definitely try that next time. Thank you for your constant support and tips. Happy New Year to you too. 👍
Hey Dan, you should give Jax Garage a go for these fork conversions setups. They are an Australian company based in Victoria that have excellent conversion kits for a heap of bikes that are of the same quality as cognito. Just did a GSXR conversion on my BMW R 80 with their kit and could not be happier with the parts or their service. Give them a try. Cheers, Wayne.
Yes, you’re 100% right and I have spoken to him many times. He’s a great guy. I just haven’t tried out one of his kids yet so I guess maybe on the next build.
Very nice mate.....I agree although I just spent a few days giving my cb400 a quick make over only to have all the extra effort in trying to stop dust infecting my paint job to have exactly that happen and now I'm over it and what was planned to be a very nice fancy design is less than..... should have just sent it to a paint shop and had it done in a booth.. Its def not the caliber build you have here but if your not looking for the problems you likely wont notice them :)
It’s all about having a go and making mistakes so we lean. So you didn’t fail on your painting you just know what to do next time and that’s a lesson. Life is full of them
@@CafeRacerGarage yeah that's it mate... its more just one of those things that because you know what mistakes are there of your own accord they annoy you secretly lol... the process and end result will be up on my mirror channel soon enough anyhow, was only meant to be a fuel pump replacement but got carried away in the process, as you do..
That pan looks amazing, but what about water being able to get out? Tthere will be condensation there also with the seat on, you wouldn't want that pan to fill up.
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
The swing arm mount is the original mounting point, Im not sure why you think this however, as its all custom made it still needs to be road tested and this is why I aim to install the engine back into the frame so I can wire it up and road test. If you are referring to aesthetically pleasing, well that is just a personal preference, we are all unique, and that's what makes this bike-building community amazing :)
@@Abakato%100 I agree with you mate, I’m just showing my best tips and skills to help others avoid making mistakes. This video is not having a dig at anyone, quite the opposite actually
@@CafeRacerGarage respect..but I'm gonna stand by my comment.. The title seems to be taking a dig at the lack of craftsmanship "somewhere" which is why I stated practice makes perfect.
Or do build a shit looking cafe racer. if it was fun to build, and you learned something new then who cares? as long it's not an unsafe cafe racer then the only person that the looks matter to should be the owner/builder.
That’s far too modified, a cafe racer is something like a Norton with the dual seat removed and a single seat with stubby tail . Then usually the turn bars upside down so it looks more like clips on forks . Yours looks more like a low height scrambler/flat tracker . The tail is too far short over the rear wheel . If you really want to know the essence of a cafe racer then start reading “OGRI “ ! yes it’s a cartoon but it’s the best description of what a cafe racer because ogri races from cafe to cafe .
Thank you for your comment mate. It’s great to know you guys out there really love the original style of cafe racer and I must say, I also have a soft spot for them as well. However, this is just an evolution of something that begun in the 50s, it’s just a modern take on an old design. I love to fabricate things and share my process, This current build may not be your taste or what you would call a cafe racer however, I’m still here to inspire and help guys build a bike of their choice 👍 Have a great day
Just once can anyone make a different shaped tail piece. The little bump shit is over done and stupid looking please someone use imagination for once, be different. Cafe is remove fenders strip it as bare as needed putbugly flat seat and pimple bump tail piece and it is Cafe bike😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Perhaps we should also invent cars without wheels and houses without roofing. 😂 jokes aside I understand where you’re coming from but sometimes the classic look works, one person may hate it when another may love it. No point trying to make a bike with lines that don’t flow or you will end up with a bike that is very undesirable to most! This is why the hump works so well. Thank you for your feedback and have a great day :)

Thank you mate yes turn that heater on and get stuck into it mate
I would love to see a workshop tour with all the new stuff you have.

I also have the drilling/tapping tools. Don't know if yours is the same, but on mine you can also countersink/deburr if you continue after tapping.

The bike looks good but the angle on the bavk shock looks wrong . Where it connects to the swing arm its too low .

I can never understand where and how to relocate the battery. Talking about a CB350 RS, the side panels containing the battery look dumb
Under the seat or on top of the swing arm are and the most common
