The calming effect is not weird. I can put on their album ObZen, on a fairly low volume, and it's almost like listening to whale sounds. completely calming :) Perfect to zone out on.
Best comment from an outside perspective, Meshuggah definetly has a calming effect. Like a trance somehow. That's what people refer to as Meshuggah's "groove". Great reaction bro, I think you got it. PS : Demiurge is one of the easiest Meshuggah song to listen, because let's be honest this band has very weird and intricate, polyrythm songs one might not appreciate at first. I HIGHLY recommend you do "Rational Gaze" by them, or "New Millenium Cyanide Christ", which have more polyrythms but are still very enjoyable for a beginner like you. Hope you'll enjoy !!!
Oh man, you're going down a wormhole with Meshuggah, there's so many good songs to recommend. Before I do, the reason it sounds so bass heavy is the guitar and the bass play in the same register where as typically in music the guitar would be an octave higher than the bass. This is why they use 8 string guitars as it allows them to tune the guitars much lower. Some good songs to check out: Closed Eye Visuals, Perpetual Black Second, Clockworks, Break Those Bones Who Sinews Gave It Motion, Dancers To A Discordant System, Marrow, Lethargica, Corridor Of Chameleons, New Millennium Cyanide Christ, Rational Gaze, Behind The Sun, Nostrum, Pineal Gland Optics, Straws Pulled At Random
Saw them in concert last year and when they played this song WE WENT NUTS. It was all standing floor. So the moshpit was in your facee haha. I only lasted like 1 song in the actual pit. Its exhausting. haha
finally got to see meshuggah last year (first metal concert) managed to stay in the pit for the first few songs, but after the pravus breakdown i almost passed out from exhaustion 😂 couldnt stay in the pit after that
A demiurge is a spiritual being, which is subordinate to the Supreme Being, or God, if you will, which is responsible for the control of the material world. In the Gnostic (mystic knowledge) sense, it is antagonistic to all that is purely, or wholly, spiritual. In other words, it is a spiritual being, that controls what we sense in the physical or material realm, yet has no sway over the spiritual realm.
Do "concentation remix" off the rare trax album.... also "suffer in truth" is a banger... but not like concentation remix that is the bangiest of the bangers that I know of in metal in general.
"Sucking vomit acting like its honey" To me that sounds like the gospels in many religions. It sounds nice with love and stuff. But when you think about it is vile and immoral. Not trying to bash all religions, most people do not take holybooks litteraly fortunatly
Look up the term "demiurge". It's essentially the "god" of the Old Testament who ignorantly believes itself to be the big G God, hence the violent, wrathful, jealous, etc. traits.
Best band on the planet
Gym music 👀
Exactly
i hit squats to that drop
Crazy band, great reaction, I definitely get what you're saying about it being the calm eye in the hurricane type vibe
Thanks! I’ll definitely have to listen to some more

They play 8 string guitars. Thats y its so heavy. Check out the Deftones soon. I saw them open for Tool in the early 2000s. Amazing show. Thanks
What I love so much about this band is every instrument, including vocals, plays rhythm section
brilliant
That’s also the only part I love about them. Lol!
CLOCKWORKS Drum cam ;)

I liked your eye of the hurricane metaphor! It's a cool way to put it :)
Sweet Video
Demiurge is the builder of the Universe. Not the architect or the designer but the contractor...
Best channel name ever! Keep it up!

@@michaelmercurio5061 oh TOTALLY SAME HERE. Haha. Shoving around grown men is EXHAUSTING.
Why not jump to a new Meshuggah track before going back again? This one is “Ligature Marks.”
Heavy. Tricky. Groovy. Tasty.
I think your reads are spot on tbh! excellent reaction!
really powerful song
its crazy high energy

It also ignorantly believes itself to be the highest God.
I wanna suggest something off Immutable.
Phantoms, Kaleidoscope, or The Faultless perhaps
You're totally getting it
Just wait till you hear it LIVE
i describe this song as progressively exhilarating
Mehuggah Pravus live from Tokio! check it out.

A good next song would be New millenium cyanide christ!

Yea you are probably right. That makes sense. A very interesting and “colorful” lyric for sure. It’s Ben popping in my head for the last few days lol

I think demigod actually means part god part man, so I interpret it more with Jesus and Christianity as a whole
@@suushii90 Demiurge, not demigod.
@@BlackSun6393
I thought demiurge is a made up word. So I thought it as demi and urge. The urge for a demigod
