Great activation! I heard a couple of hams that I have made contact with here in Utah. Maybe I'm living on a good path to make contact with you one day. I'm on Mountain time. Do you have a favorite time of day for your operations? I've seen some pretty early mornings. Early morning in Alabama is still dark in Utah. :) vy 73 de David AE4LH
Thank you! There are some very faithful CW ops out there. I normally operate around 6:30 AM Central time, before work and family responsibilities…and this time of year, before the crazy heat. It’s rare that I get a chance to operate after 8:00 AM except the occasional midday QSO. 73 and thanks for watching David!
Congrats on starting the journey! It’s a lot of fun. I used the Morse Mania app to learn the characters, and listened to a lot of CW on my own. Then I started operating on the air after a couple months, and that’s when I really started getting better. There are many ways to learn, depending on how you enjoy learning. 73!
@@w4arb Sorry, one more question. Is it possible to learn CW with a portable paddle like you have or do you have to have a higher end paddle line be Begali,
Sorry I didn’t see this! I think it would be perfectly possible to learn with any decent quality paddle. Sending is the easy part, copying is the hard part :)
Another great activation Aaron. Love watching your videos. -W4TPD
Thank you & 73!
thanks Aaron 73
TU & 73 my friend!
Have that same radio and antenna. I’ll catch on an activation someday.
it’s a great combo. makes activating easy. 73!
Great job Aaron, I bought one of those q106 too. Hope they work for both of us lol
I just did a video with it this morning, it’ll be coming soon. 73!
@@w4arb I have not opened my box yet. I hope to try mine sometime this week
i’ve been pleasantly surprised by it so far. its reputation isn’t deserved hah
Great activation, Aaron. Thanks for taking us along. What kind of badass side rails are those on your 891? 73 de N4AAJ
Just found the 3d printed version :)
Thanks! Yep they’re by 918 products on Etsy. He doesn’t have the aluminum ones available all the time, but the 3d printed ones look great too. 73!
@@w4arb thanks, OM. 73!
Yeah missed this one..
I’ll be back out and at it tomorrow morning!
Love it if you would use the Alex Loop and Mountains n Topper
That’s one of my fav combos! I’ll definitely use it again soon.
Well, the Xiegu works 😊 I’ve been doing what you recommended for the 891, it’s better. I can’t live without the APF though. 73!
Awesome! A lot of folks love the APF, it just bothers my ears for some reason.

I want a cap like that. With my call of course so I know who I am. 😂
It’s very helpful for when you forget!

It was indeed! 73
Hey pal, what method did you use to learn CW. I am just starting the journey. Thanks for all your hard work posting.
