Excited for your top 15 video for this year and to see how Big Idea Design's pencil stacks up. I really like your thorough and thoughtful take on pencils. Rather than reading a spec sheet, you give your actual opinion on its feel and use. Thank you!
I love me some solid metal pencils. However, my experience with the Schmidt system has not been stellar. Plus, I just do not like the conical tip in a mechanical pencil. My engineering and math roots just have me always reaching for drafting tips. I wish more manufacturers would take the routes that IJ, Spoke, Hemingway, etc take, and just use the p200 mech. Or, even better, take the Wingback/Modern Fuel route and make thier own!
do you know how the schmidt mechanism is on the tactile turn pencil? clutch situation seems to rate that pencil very highly despite its schmidt mechanism, which is interesting.
@@selmiespot I Actually Do not own a Tactile turn pencil, But I do have a different(but similar) bolt-action with the Schmidt Mech. It's not bad by any means, I just much prefer a pencil that I can unclogged if need be (the schmidt mechanism does not have an exposed clutch). Additionally, like i mention in my OP, I have never been a fan of conical tips. If you don't mind conical tips, and haven't often had bad luck with clogged mechanisms (and are okay buying a whole new mechanism if it happens) then there is really nothing wrong with this mechanism. If you're anything like me, I would highly recommend either a Spoke Design (model 4 or 6) or a Modern Fuel Click Pencil.
I find that any lead advance that makes you rearrange the pencil in your hand is a BIG disadvantage. The Quicker Clicker is the best at avoiding that. Any back end knock is easier to reach than this one. You add up all the micro seconds to rearrange, knock and then rearrange again will add up.
For me this is a horrible edc tool as a mechanical pencil , i find that if rotring600 had a retractable sleeve it would be the best edc pencil ever , just an opinion, nice video❤
Wish I had a good friend who shared my collecting and love of writing pens and pencils. I do get gifts here and there and that cool! 😎 but someone to chat with would be sweet. I talk to God, and write to Him.

Would you consider it better than the modern fuel 2.0?
Beautiful! 😮

so a rotring 800?
Any reason why this is horrible? Just curious
