Try to distance the stops a little more, half of the stops are left over, people can walk 100 meters perfectly. Those on the mountain would like to get to the train station a little faster and the average speed of the bus would be faster.
Try creating a new line that only does the final part of the route and assign some buses to this long line (without buying any extra buses) as the final stretch is very congested and some extra buses would be fine, but maybe not all the buses must go up that mountain.
With these 2 changes maybe you could make city buses profitable and not have losses of -50k each.

Never tried that because i thought the engine cant handle that. For example at cargo station the distribution dont work for me most of the time.
