I really wish Enterprise didn't get cancelled the way it did. I was really looking forward to seeing the Romulan-Earth war, and the beautiful NX refit design.
Oh you'll get it in time with a picard style series... I assure you. I also assure you... you'll regret those words!
@@Phoenixesper1 Honestly, I doubt it. I feel if CBS was going to continue with a lineup of shows focusing on the previous captains, they would go with Janeway and Sisco before they focused on Archer.
For better or for worse, Enterprise was fairly poorly-received when it originally aired, a large part of which had to do with series fatigue since Star Trek has been on the air in some form or another for almost 20 years at that point.
@@ozpin8329 Almost 20 years? Star Trek had been going for 35 years when Enterprise first aired. It's been almost 60 years now and they're still making new movies and TV shows.
@@nagualdesign Whoops, I meant "had" instead of "has." I meant continuously. After the original series wrapped up in the 60s there was no Star Trek until TNG in the mid 80s, and then Voyager and Deep Space 9 were running concurrently to each other through 2001.
It was a lot to keep up with, especially because all of this was before streaming. By the time Enterprise came out when Voyager wrapped up, there was a lot less interest in Trek because the market had become so saturated with it in syndication as well.
@@ozpin8329 Okay, I see what you're saying.
I loved Star Trek Enterprise. I was bummed the way the series ended. Still, a very good show.
I missed the last two episodes and refuse to play catch-up.
The reviews/reveals, from the public, is enough, I refuse to
ruin the memories of the weekly life experience the show
WAS...life was sh***y, all except for the series.
The way it was ended was absolutely horrible. Series was great, last episode killed it
Great series that had one of the worst series finales.
@@FreakyLynx - Some shows never gets an ending.
Should have been 2 more seasons added on Romulan-Human War.
That polarized hull plating held out surprisingly well over the years. You'd think the Federation would've held onto that as a backup for whenever the shields went down.
They did. It was referenced in a DS9 episode with the runabout with Worf and Garak in it being overtaken by the Jem'Hadar.
@@oldtwinsna8347 they also had the ablated hull armor
This show was not as bad as everyone made it out to be.
It wasn't actually bad at all.
"I feel like I've been away for... a thousand years."
"Captain, The Vulcan Science Directorate has determined that time travel is..."
"Impossible, yes, thank you, T'pol. It's good to hear your voice too."
I feel like…they named a space dock after me…..
Someone needs to edit that phrase into this scene 😂
Back when Star Trek had good lighting.
Yes! I love strange new worlds, but WHY is it so dark lol. I want to see the ships!
@@haydenravenscroft1803 Yeah, as the budget goes up, the lighting goes down. Darker = movie quality lighting. Bright lighting is cheaper and easier to film for a tv show. It's perceived as the production value
Faking an overload whatever it was around 1.00 is still my favourite move in Trek.
Always have loved the way she sits on the edge of the command chair...
One of t'pols better episodes👍
One of many great episodes
She got to show the crew what more she knew and interact more with them as First Officer.
She wore the chair very well. She was no Ryan substitute, she was her own appeal. Blalok is a trekking.
god the early trek tech was just so better than 24th century's right? beam weapons and course alteration while at warp, no “Faster than light: no left or right.” Mr. Paris
I love the character T'pol I do think it would have been interesting if the show continued IF IT WAS FOUND that she is Vulcan / Romulan it would explain her emotional swings
I dont think that makes a difference as Romulans and Vulcans are identical in terms of physiology, the only difference is social. Vulcans repress their emotions, Romulans embrace them, but if any individual member of either species wanted to they could easily try it the other way.
@@builder396 I disagree I would explain why T'pol is for more emotional then any other Vulcan seen in Enterprise.
@@thomashill6347 Her Trellium addiction already explains that, not to mention pure proximity to this many humans affected her, too. Her mother also said that have her emotions much closer to the surface than other Vulcans.
I think that is sufficient explanation, no need for a pointless Deus Ex Machina.
@@builder396 OK but as a fan it is what I would like to have been revealed NO BIG DEAL I love the character and I was very happy that the writers added a Vulcan in ENTERPRISE
@@builder396 "Romulans and Vulcans are identical in terms of physiology,"
Not even close. Romulans don't have the super strength or mental powers of Vulcans. That is established. Nothing indicates the superior smell or interior eyelid either.

Since Klingons consider it dishonorable to take hostages, their ship would have been destroyed. On the plus side, they'd have all woken up in Sto'Vo'Kor.
"Alter course, 10 degrees starboard."

Heck, why don't you find a window and toss this can at them, too, killer?
That look of relief on her face at the end is priceless
Makes her a good actress.
Jolene used her beautiful eyes to convey her emotions. Her voice was usually so calm, sometimes so quiet one had to strain to hear her.
Vulcans don't express relief unless they are sitting on the toilet after Denobulin taco Tuesday.
"Now let's head back to Starfleet engineering ASAP so they can reverse engineer this Suliban Cell ship, we don't want to waste the opportunity like with the previous one we captured."
Good video.
Why is it Tpol was always in the "No win" situation when in command?
Why do you think that sim was developed? ;)
It's pretty standard trope, really. You want to see the crew in peril, but you have someone else in command during the arse kicking so that 'the captain' doesn't loose face in the view of the audience. The captain is off saving the day in some commando operation either by themselves or with their choice commandos. Whomever is left on the bridge only has to 'keep it together' until the real heroes save the day. Sometimes I'm tempted to call it lazy writing but that's not really fair. A limitation of the episodic format, there's usually just not enough screen time to develop multiple heroic arcs in one act.
"Alter course, ten degrees, Starboard."
Oh, yeah, that'll REALLY throw 'em off.
Didn't she do that so they can meet up with the Vulcan battleship?
T’’pol ♥️♥️♥️🔥🔥🔥💥💥💥
Is it just me or anybody realize T'pol face very similar with cmdr Soval?
The helmsman guy is probably the worst actor in human history, he is so unbelievable bad that I always forget he is even there and have zero idea what his name is.
Agreed. I never liked that guy either.
This makes no sense !😂
Much like 7 of 9 those cat suits worked for me 😍😍😍‼️
Such small vessels yet they can keep up with a warp 5 NX class vessel and with fire power enough to damage hull plating.
The Suliban Cabal received the necessary knowledge for their technology from the future as they were agents for a unseen individual. who lives in the 28th Century. That person was the leader of one of the factions in the Temporal Cold Wars. So they were more than a match for any 22nd Century species.
@@kaos2317 that leader is rumored to be archer himself
I missed this show
I really enjoy seeing T'Pol getting emotional. She's a very pretty Vulcan but that's because she's a very pretty human.
That sounded creepy.
Maybe not 1/2 human; Maybe 1/2 Romulan (like Lt. Saavik). At least, a human plays her: Jolene Blaylock. You can cuss on the bridge? You won't hear T'Pol cuss (yet) like Saavik.
@@virginiaconnor8350 - She's not half anything. She's fully Vulcan as a Star Trek character and as an actress, she's fully human. She's very pretty, either way.
If the storyline continued she was supposed to be revealed to be half romulan.
@@rubiks6 I was only stating the possibility that Manny Coto mentioned IF "Enterprise" had been renewed. Since it wasn't, the possibility is moot.
I can see the Suliban leader Silik asking "We need instructions."
When commanding a ship, you would address the commander as captain regardless of rank.
In Trek it often appears that if the captain goes on an away mission they have handed the bridge over to the first officer but have not technically relinquished command as captain. So the first officer keeps their existing rank.
Maybe Suliban are different and he was speaking accordingly.
@@fatman123526 Wasn't she still technically a civilian? Her sub-cdr. rank was a Vulcan one.
@@virginiaconnor8350 except per starfleet she was Archer’s first officer which puts her in the chain of command.
I believe in Starfleet though, isn't Captain an actual rank? I"m not well versed in that though but I thought Kirk was busted down from Admiral to Captain and then given command of Enterprise again.
The Suliban were interesting, it's a shame they exist only within the confines of the Enterprise series. But they look like they've been dipped in Grey Poupon mustard.
Still annoyed that Trip is on the bridge for some reason. Instead of, you know, down in Engineering.
always thought it strange she never really sat in the chair quite right...
it's build for human comfort, not vulcan ;)
I guess she wants to be physically alert rather than comfortable as a Vulcan
Man, she would've been comfortable with, well, in my dreams, sitting like that.
But of course I didn't attend Starfleet Command school.
It's probably too "comfortable" and she prefers something that keeps her a bit more on her toes.
@@koriko88 As she's not even tall as Cpt. Archer, T'Pol would have the same problem as Archer did, sitting back w/o feeling they were going to slide out of the chair. Trip would have had to lower it at least another 1/2-1" for T'Pol since she's about 5-7" shorter. It's possible than even it was right height, she wanted to be in a command position.
Why waste ammunition? That seems inaccurate being that theyre using energy weapons.
Jolene is one extremely beautiful woman/Vulcan 🖖
Well, Archer saves the day@@@
Great show. But why does T'pol wear camo?
lol the alien knocked out, hey in the series he was actually nice
Why didn't eneterpise steal the tractor beam tech from that ship Archer was on!?
I think it's because that ship doesn't have that tractor beam.
@@davidossantosschroeder I think it was because the writers wrote the enterprise into a logic box. They encounter all this advanced tech over the series and due to one bit of nonsense or another they never really upgrade. I mean for christ sakes, they found a station sized replicator in space that literally can print starships and did they bother to at least scan the technology and reverse engineer it? NOOOOO... they blew it up!
nucleus
I’ll do everything for T’pol
Feels more like star trek than discovery
Either these aliens are speaking perfect English or the universal translator makes you see them speak a language they don't know.
it is a universal translator, but it's not Terran design. Remember, other species are more advanced than the Terrans and already have their own translator units. You really think Vulcans and Andorians speak in English during their planetary disputes? Point of fact, Terrans meet the Andorians for the first time at the P'Jem monastery.
They have energy weapons. What ammunition?!
Finite energy reserves
T'pol has serious chops.
Why did Tpol always sit at the edge of the chair like she had hemorrhoids?
Well, when you've got an ass that's that hot, you tend to try to air it out as much as possible . . .
@@kurtjk01 :grins: I admit that caused a chuckle of appreciative agreement :)
She was shorter in height than Archer or Trip and Archer felt he was about to slide out of the chair. She would've had the same problem, only more so a bit. Trip lowered it by 1 c. Since she wasn't capt.yet, Trip only lowered it for Archer. She seemed to prefer standing up and leaning over Travis or walking around when not sitting at her station.
One of the rare scenes in Star Trek where there`s nebula, unlike Babylon 5 in which they are in every scene🙂
nebulae turn up in Star Trek a lot, but there's virtually no difference to being in one as compared to being anywhere else in space, it's not like thick fog, the gas is so thin you would be hard pressed to even bump into it let alone see it, unlike in the show where they are like sailing a ship through a fog bank with lightning and rough seas!
@@andreww2098 Nor would you see most nebula with the naked eye - even if close. Those beautiful shots we have tend to long exposure collecting far more light into a display than a blink of an eye would notice.
@@IAmTheRealBill I`m totally fine with that, I like Nebulas` photos but spaceships look better with just black and stars to me. Babylon 5 battles on the contrary were too colorful and heavy for eyes, but I guess they just wanted to boast of their CGI capabilities🙃
@@IAmTheRealBill Maybe not nebula, but I do get a little bored with just pure black and stars, we see the milky way quite well sometimes even here on earth (though I know a lot of those photo are also over exposed) but it would be nice to have the ship flying in a direction where we see the centre of the galaxy regularly to give these shows a little eye candy, One of the good things about the wormhole on DS9 and Discovery, even if the latter do go a little overboard on that one sometimes with Nebulae and other space anomalies.

I like how spaceships bank with changing course.
It looks too weird to the casual viewer for ships to turn without that familiar tilt. It would be more correct, but generally less enjoyable. Much like why the selfie camera shows you a mirror image instead of the actual photo - expectations inform perception. When what you expect to see and what you do see aren't the same, it's unsettling.
Babylon 5 is one of the few shows that did a nice job of showing more realistic space combat and explained what was going on - but even they had quite a lot of cheating.
@@rcb3921 Battlestar Galactica was top notch. They only used artificial gravity on the big ships. It needed .. what... 20 more years for "The Expanse" to get the physics right AND use it for dramatic purpose? Its crazy how humans think and envelope the real picture in their fantasy culture.

Can't say I'm with most here whom express sadness at this series being cancelled... the battle scene didn't invoke any interest, probably the humdrum lack lustre unexciting acting across the board and a background soundtrack I would use to go to sleep with. When a series needs to put super tights on already attractive women to try to improve ratings, that in itself should tell you all you need to know about the whole production. Its funny how most of us could watch years of reruns of TOS and TNG, but also most of us couldn't be brothered to watch this series let alone a rerun.
To be fair the tights where present from the start it's only Voyager where what your talking about really happened specifically in response to ratings and secondly it's still so much better then new trek even with all the perfectly reasonable issues you point out.

Sorry, I must have missed something. Since when phasers can be used while at warp?
They're phase cannons. They operate a bit differently from Phasers in the first place, but... it wasn't until ST:TMP (~2273) that phasers were routed through the warp coils for increased power, thus preventing their use at warp for some time (I think VOY or late DS9/2360's, Starship designs stopped this practice).
Star Trek was never about battles until Roddenberry died.
