One time I decided to celebrate "Valentine's Week" by contributing to my newest favorite couple as depicted in "The Spectacular Spider-Man" animated series. Peter and Gwen were just MEANT for each other in this show (don't get me wrong, Mary Jane has her charm too, though I feel this couple has a little more potential to go a little further in some form of mainstream media). This is so cute just like the whole show. I love Peter in this animated show and Gwen was the perfect partner for him.

You know if it kept on going I would've liked Gwen and Peter to ultimately stay together. Mary Jane is also a good match but this series was really made for Gwen.
I know. Watching her in this series after seeing Emma Stone's take on her made me like Gwen a LOT more! Not that Emma Stone wasn't good, in fact she's the most perfect live action Gwen to date. That being said, her depiction in Spidey 3 and the comics are my least favorite versions of her -- her Ultimate incarnation, however, falls somewhere in between. And I agree, I would've loved this show to end on a proper note like that! Sadly, we'll never see it :(

I read somewhere that the directors of the show had already planned to make like 5 or 6 seasons and Gwen would've died and Peter would've ended up marrying MJ at the end. I'm cool with that, even though I really liked Gwen here too. I just wish they'd pick it up again like they did for Young Justice.

Unfortunatly while it did get cancelled because disney bought the spiderman television rights from sony. They didn't choose to discontinue it. They had to. As part of the deal they were unable to continue any projects from before the purchase which included spectacular spiderman.

Sony gave up the tv rights for concession on some shitty movies, and marvel/Disney didn’t want to pay for the rights to keep the show going. It’s just such a shame. It was probably the best on screen adaptation of spider/Peter Parker of all time. So much thought and passion went into the creation of this show. We may never see anything like it again. It accomplished so much in so few episodes, I can only imagine how great it would’ve been if it would’ve been given the chance to run its full course

Damn Peter has so many loves in this show. Benny, Mary Jane, Black Cat, Symbiont, Liz Allen, and Finally Gwen Stacy. I wanted to see Peter and Gwen get together. Even though if it was me, I would go for Liz. But like Gwen is great for Peter. Please bring the show back so we can have the happy ending Peter and Gwen deserve.
On the bleachers, mj said she only wanted to be friends with peter, gwen clearly liked Eddie and Harry, and Liz only pretended to like him to get back at flash. In reality, all the babes hated him in this.

Ray Anderson Dude, Gwen wanted to go to the dance with Peter. She only went with Eddie because Peter said he wasn't going to go with anyone , only to then later show up with MJ. As for Harry, she only started dating him because she thought Peter was a lost cause and she felt like she needed to move on. Then in the final episode, she literally stays with Harry out of pity because of what happened with his Dad. Peter was always her first choice, it's just that the poor dope didn't realize it until it was too late.
Liz did legitimately like Peter. She pretended to hate him throughout most of season one because she wanted to stay as one of the popular kids, but then finally had the courage to break it off with Flash for good in season 2. She chose Peter over Flash in the end. MJ said she didn't want to be tied down to anyone, but there's actually an explanation for that in the comics that the show unfortunately didn't have time to get to. Had the show gone on, she probably would have been developed further and her feelings on relationships probably would have changed.
King Orange You know I honestly don't know how that relationship would have turned out. It's possible that the writers were going in their own direction with the Peter and Gwen relationship, but I have a sneaking suspicion they were setting up to follow the storyline from the comics and if that's the case....yeah a happy ending was never really in the cards for them. I guess now we'll never know though....Dammit I hate the fact that Sony refused to give up the rights to this show. If they had, we might have gotten all 65 episodes.

and I agree with you. this show really does have a lot of potential. And so does the relantionship between Gwen and Peter. I was reading that apparently they had planned a third season but never put it into production... so maybe if we can show them how many fans are out there that LOVE the series (which there are a massive quantity) they would put it back into production.
Disney cancelled it.They would have made a third season but it was replaced by Ultimate Spider-Man.

It was cancelled because of licensing issues. When Disney bought Marvel, Sony had the decision to either give up the film rights or the TV production rights of Spider-Man and so they decided to give up the TV production rights to Disney. However, Sony did not give up the Spectacular Spider-Man tv show rights since Disney wasn't the one who created it in the beginning. Meaning that Sony still owns all the artwork, designs, etc. of Spectacular. Sony and Disney could neither produce anything new for TSSM

So i really think that the Gwen from this show is the one for Pete instead of Mj because, FREAKING VENOM, SAID THAT SHE IS THE ONE FOR PETE, and yeah, Mj in this show is kinda (in my opinion) doesn't need anyone, and is already happy alone, and it's the free spirit that doesn't need anyone, and even wants Peter to be with Gwen.
I agree. They started foreshadowing Gwen's interest in Peter all the way back in episode 2. They were building up to the moment when Peter and Gwen would be together, even through all the drama with Liz and Harry. Unfortunately, we never got to see them actually get to that point because ... *sigh ... the show got cancelled.

Assuming they chose to go that route...yes I would absolutely be willing to pay that price. Sure it would rip us apart emotionally, but it would make for a damn good story and also open the door for other great stories.

I used to watch this AMV religiously when I was a kid, despite being unfamiliar with the show or Linkin Park, so I'm glad it still exists. Watched the new Spiderverse recently and it's also real fun to take a look at Peter's other animated depictions.
I never liked Gwen's design in the spectacular Spider-Man until she lost the glasses and the orange jacket after that she looked very cute attractive and beautiful.

Oh man I binge watched this show in two days, completely fell in love with it, stuck to it even though after a certain point I was only interested in the romance, and thats the ending I get? Imagine what it must have felt like for the creators to have their story be cut this way. I hope this series will be completed. Or at least Pete and Gwen will get together, after that, they can do whatever they want.

His character is complicated in my opinion
It was really sad to see Harry do that. I felt like he was growing to be a better person by the end of the season, but after he guilt tripped Gwen knowing full well that she loves Peter, I lost all respect for him. I guess Spidey's life just always has to stink in some regard.

I would like to sea more of Gwen in some shows aslong as they don't kill her off for comic acuracy sake. And I think MJ is overused like Lois and Clark from dc. I would like to sea some programs with some new twist to charecters and stories as long as they pull it off righte.

If you're talking about just this particular TV show then yes he likes Gwen more as he and MJ have stated they're just friends and are not romantically attracted to one another. But in terms of comics, I think he loves both of them equally. Many people use the House of M storyline as proof that Peter loved Gwen more than MJ, but I think this is miselading. The reason why Peter saw himself married to Gwen rather than MJ was not because he loved her more- it was because he was imagining what his life would have been like had Gwen not died- would they have married and started a family? No one knows, but that would have been his ideal. Plus, in nearly every other universe, he's either married or in a serious relationship with MJ- in the MC2 he is married to MJ and has two kids with her. In the Ultimate universe, they're kin a serious relationship- there's even a storyline where he and MJ have a daughter named Annie and they're a spider cime-fighting family.
I personally prefer Mary Jane. I used to ship Peter and Gwen- but then when Gwen did something (that which shall not be named), I was instantly disgusted by her. MJ is so much more loyal to Peter as well. But in the end, I don't think he has a true love.
He does both; but if he had to pick one he would absolutely bring back gwen from the dead and be with her.. The way he goes about everything and talks about gwen after she dies is as if a hole in his heart that is unmendable has been broken.. Don't get me wrong; MJ is the love of his life too; BUT he loves gwen more and he always will.. They are literal PERFECT SOULMATES, while peter and MJ are just perfect for eachother.... Sorry people; Peter loves Gwen more. This being said; i actually prefer that Gwen canonically stay dead - as life isn't perfect for everyone and her dying just shows not only how much Peter truly loves her - but that he needs to be a hero so this doesn't happen to anyone else.. Gwen dying is a stark reminder of who he is, why he is spiderman and how great power comes great responsibility.. If MJ died - then peter wouldn't of got this message/stark reminder as good - but Gwen reinforces this WELL to him.. Atleast he still fell in love again with another love of his life - but Gwen will always be Peter's perfect soulmate and she'll never be back :(

+Josuke Vi Kurosaki (King) Harry overhears gwen and Peter saying that they love each other and will break up with Liz and Harry. Once the green goblin is killed and is Norman Osbourne Harry saids he needs gwen now more then ever. And it is also revealed that Norman Osbourne is still alive.

I love Peter with Gwen (especially this version of her) but I also think the ending was perfect for the series. A big theme of the series is managing responsibilities. Peter constantly chooses to be Spiderman over Peter Parker and that costs him many relationships with others (Harry, Eddie and Liz to name a few). The final episode is just the breaking point of what the series had been leading up to: Spiderman winning the war against crime (Tombstone specifically) but Peter Parker ending up alone. I really wish that there would be a third season where Peter, having accomplished his goals as Spiderman, proceeds to rebuild his relationships with his friends and eventually ends up with Gwen. There would still be Spiderman but it would be mainly focused on Peter getting his life back together. A guy can dream right?
