The Bodensee Toggenburg line is now part of the sudoesbahn company and things have change today like Volpnern express now runs between St Gallen and Luzern only using Stadler flrit units . The line is now used mostly by St Gallen S bahn services under Sudoesbahn and Thurbo a suberly of SBB. The scenery is same but the trains have change over the years .
Although originally shown almost 20 years ago, its still mostly unchanged and the scenery remains the same today. Thanks for sharing a high quality video.
I think there was about 20 videos produced in the late 1990's. And inspired me to visit Switzerland first in 2003 and several times since. Have watched these many times but the quality here is excellent. Hope more will be uploaded. its a pity MITV retired. Thanks.
Thats great, I think I have seen all but not sure. Be great if there was a list and put a number on each journey. 22 Episodes I believe. I think the episodes were a huge undertaking at the time and stand the test of time. @@SwissRailwayJourneys
Wow, this series made my childhood even though I couldn't speak English back then and inspired my love for Switzerland. The opening music is just beautiful and brings tears to my eyes as I think about good old 90's and the times that are sadly gone. Also, I've always loved the deep voice of Malcolm Brown. Thank you for sharing and making me feel young again 💜
Great to see these "vintage "recordings". A lot has changed and not always for the good. All these glass steel cubes, don't witness any creativity at all. Many of the former railway companies merged into extended companies as subenterprises from SBB and BLS.

The difference is that many independant railways have merged into each other. I see a lot of material now in BLS livery.

There are 24 individual episodes in total. It took almost 15 years to complete them all.
