I went to have non cancerous surgery Aged 38 during which the Surgeon found a tennis ball sized Ovarian Tumour. 25yrs later, I still have my gall bladder but one of the most dangerous cancers, Ovarian Cancer, with radical surgery-did not kill me. There is ALWAYS HOPE. Our lovely Catherine will battle, she has three children to raise. Love is all around her. I expect it is for her, as it was for me, very difficult to know ones family are hurt by the diagnosis. I will always remember the look in the eyes of my loved ones. I felt so bad that they were so distraught. I found the pain in the childrens eyes excruciating. But I'm still here.

Kate's positive attitude is hardly surprising. Any patient who has been assured that their cancer has been removed and the chemo is for prevention not for cure and therefore likely to have no serious side effects.

Ovarian cancer is general symptom free...til its to late.
I had 20 + yrs ago...& only caught it after tumor became so large it twisted & drop causing severe pain. After many tests in ER
showing much wrong, bld pressure, internal bleeding, abnormal cell count, only saw/found via a ultra sound. Yrly pap tests & pelvic exams do not detect...I was 43 yrs old & forced menopause imed. after complete hysterectomy + gall blatter & appendix also removed...was hard, head & hormones were confused fighting ea other. Hormone replacement therapy is a must, much needed. Many male Dr's don't understand any of or HRT. Just sharing...Be Well

My initial biopsy was benign. After my surgery the organ was sent to pathology and cancer was diagnosed. It just depends on where the specimen was taken from for the initial biopsy.

There’s no such thing as preventative chemotherapy.
It's either to get rid of any stray cancer cells, or to shrink a tumour before surgery, or to manage symptoms if terminal. Not all cancers need chemo or radiotherapy
It’s called Adjuvant Chemotherapy. Look it up
And no biopsy before surgery? No indication in tests that the cancer was present?
@@LyndaHill Yes. It’s very strange that they claim Catherine got the news that cancer was present over a month after the surgery. In reality if tests and biopsies before surgery are not definitive then tests are done while the patient lies on the operating table and the patient is informed of a cancer diagnosis when they come out of the anesthetic. There is no waiting after major surgery to get a cancer diagnosis-especially a month later as it was claimed.
