I owe a debt of gratitude to my Tabla Gurus, Late Sri G Laxmiah, Ustad Shabbir Nisar, and Sri Rajendra Nakod, and many other great Masters of Tabla who have inspired and taught me along the way. None of this would be possible without them.
your way to teach is very easy & clear .....superb sir

Thank u very much sir..its a great help for tabla learners ☺..
You are most welcome.
Dear Pavan: I am a student of tabla based in Islamabad. Professionally, I am a journalist/writer. I did my best to find good
explanations with examples of terms in tabla but failed. I wish I could know
what is Gat, Paran, Mohra, Mukhra, Tukra, tehai, Laikari, etc. These terms are defined on internet but they are not explained well and there are no
examples. It would be a great service to music if you could put a video and define all these terms with examples in a lucid way so that one could differentiate between all these different terms.
Thanks for your comments. I'll try to do that, perhaps in a future project but the focus of the current one is to give 50 compositions for the beginner student that will get them a good grounding in Kayda, Peshkar, Rela, Tukda, Chakkardar, Dupalli and Tipalli Tihaais etc. Where possible I have tried to explain what a Tukda is or what a Peshkar is. But what you have suggested is great - that will have to be another project for later.
Pavan
Dear Pavan, I will be truly thankful if you could - just for my understanding - explain theoretically Paran, Gat, Mohra, etc. I have failed to find a convincing explanation. Even the professional tabla player in Pakistan can't explain this. Or perhaps, they don't want to because they never share knowledge.
Will do, in a bit. First I have to upload all the remaining videos.
Pavan
🙏🙏🙏❤️
Thanks,
Sir Could You make Video of Chand & Rela in teentaal
In the future, yes.
What is the tempo of the lehara sir...also give us some practice tips to get the bols clearly..
Not sure. I'll have to check.
The ‘Ne’ sound is ‘sticking’ or ‘bouncing’ ?
In this Kayda the Ne can be sticky. But when it appears in Dhi Ne Ge Ne then the first Ne is bouncy but the second one can be sticky.
All the same, play the Ne gently and not stick it in too much.
Also, end of a theme or variation, feel like you have a Dha at the end - is there one ?
No. it is Ne at the end.
An example is at 10 min 13 seconds or so, end of variation 1, you left hand goes up as if a Dha were played. Is it from the Ge before Ne? Just curious
@@nkr1972 That Dha you mention is simply to indicate the Sam of Teen Taal and is NOT in the Kayda as such. Ignore. Just out of habit indicating the Sam I have played a Dha there. But it is not in the Kayda.
Thanks for the quick response - once again, this is a treasure trove, this winter, cooked up indoors, with Covid restricting outdoor activity, I picked up tabla seriously (after some 10-12 years) and have been consuming your UA-cam channel for 8-9 weeks straight ! Can’t thank you enough. What started as a class for my son some 15 years ago has become something I enjoy now.
Darun
Thanks.
don t get the difference between tha and ti ???
No difference in playing. Just difference in nomenclature.
@@tabaliya thanks man...what a mess if many names for same stroke ^^
i guess there s others?
got a book with a "thu" it is same as "tin" ?
