I had a gobbler hang up at 75 yards today, he was putting on a show. In the past I would not have called anymore at that distance but after this video I figured I’d give the soft calling a try. After a few soft calls, the distance slowly closed. He got to ride home in the back of my Chevy. Thanks for the videos, keep up the good instructions.

I think the thing I like about what you said is even if it feels like he's hung up and it ain't ever gonna happen, keep working it. Stay focused. It is so easy to give up because it has been soooooo long. Stay in the hunt, don't relax. That is part of the fun of it.

Dale, I am a avid turkey hunter and I enjoy watching your turkey videos. I take a lot of your tips, and I will be the first to tell you that world class calling does not kills turkeys. Knowing when to call is the key and setup. New turkey hunters have a huge disbelief that you have to be an expert caller to kill a turkey.

No one would share any info with you ,videos was not around then to learn from I learned from trial and error .LM not a great caller but knowing what call and when to use it .means everything.im open to new ideas to make me a better hunter .you are very knowledgeable ,what you say is spot on keep making videos .I've killed somewhere just over 50 birds . But always willing to learn something new.good luck 2021 season .I'll be watching🦃

Tony Reynolds talks about doing that as well as a old hunting buddy of mine I have never heard a turkey do it but I do have chickens and they do it as well but it sure does work thanks for the videos we never stop learning the game and for the ones who bad mouth the calling have probably not killed many birds it’s at best 20 percent of the hunt woodsman ship is what makes you consistently kill birds year in and year out keep up the good work

Hi Matt. Thanks for all the great videos. The tips you give and knowledge you share is awesome. I really feel like this is my season to get my first turkey. I really like the tail feathers with saddle? that you have behind you. Any plans on sharing how to do that? Anyway, thanks for everything. Keep up the great videos!

PLease make a short video explaining the sounds and uses of the different mouth call cuts. You mentioned bat wing cut, ghost cut, cutter, double reeded call with no call. What are the differences? What are the different sounds? I just ordered my Ole Sly box call. Sell me on the different mouth calls.

At the end of the day, I'd rather be a so-so caller with a turkey in the back of my truck than be a champion caller with no turkey.

what kind of calling should I do if I only have about a hour and a half after sunrise to hunt?

    • @jamesgentry6864

Call normally and if you get one to come in say inside 75-80 yds then start that realy soft stuff. Your volume depends on how far away you are from the bird. Far away=loud close=soft. Just don't overthink it and good luck!!

I BELIEVE THATS A BREEDING SQUEAL, NEVER HEARD IT WHILE HUNTING BUT HAVE HEARD OF IT.
