Original engine and transmission just general maintenance keeps her running great. Sure some things have worn and been replaced but that's expected especially in some of the crap I have to drive in. Granted it's not the more popular honda or..what is it, I forgot, it's not toyota is it? The crossover scene of the early 2000s, all where actually pretty good. Great video :) I have an 06 pathfinder LE with the 4L engine. 204,000 kms on it. Just did the cats now awaiting rack and pinion. I love the vehicle. Engine sounds nice and shifts smooth
I like to see ones that have hit the 300K mile mark. The few GM cars I had years, ago they tanked soon after hitting 100K. Thank you for the balanced used car brand advice. It's good to know that reasonably reliable pre-owned vehicles can be had for less money than even high mileage used Toyotas.

Great as always. Could you possibly make a printable list of often overlooked maintenance? Like when and what to use on various rubber bushings/seals on suspension components. You have covered so many that I lose track. Would be great to have a checklist.
My 2002 Maxima se 6-speed manual has 276,000 miles. I bought it for $600 a couple years ago when it needed clutch work. It has a few upgrades, 0-60 in under 6 seconds. I beat on this car everytime i drive it. I was up state last weekend going 120mph+ for a while
I've always liked the Pathfinder, even the older ones that could be found with 5 speed manual....Nissan VQ 3.5 and that 4.0 are bulletproof.....i got one with 212k and drive it till 343k in a 2000 Maxima with the 5speed....only got rid of it because rear hit.....
VG 3.3 is a good engine too. Not too terrible with its common problems. I have a Nissan VQ 3.5 Pathfinder. Good engine but got to be careful with the VVT solenoids and making sure to religiously change oil. Also, VQ 3.5 are known to burn oil a lot at higher mileage. But mine seems to be good just need to properly maintain it.
My moms 2012 Nissan rouge awd just hit 201k miles. Never had issues besides ac compressor. Original drivetrain and everything. Should I do anything to help prevent cvt failure? How much longer do you think the car will last?
@@aryan.r4126 she doesn’t drive the vehicle hard at all. One thing is the cvt sounds like it whines sometimes, there is almost like a groaning sound when she turns but it’s done that for close to 100k miles. What fluids should I change on it?
@@alexviking9383 Please use Amsoil CVT fluid. That will take care of that whining noise. It also will give you greater protection and proformace. I'm currently running it through my 2014 Maxima sitting at 100k.
Have over 317,000 miles on my '11 Pathfinder V6, 4WD. Only performed standard maintenance on it. For being in Michigan, the body is in good shape and the original engine and trans runs great. The 4WD stabilizes the ride in intrepid weather. It's been a great vehicle.

Scotty i have a Nissan Almera sedan model of 2001 manual transmission it has 480.000 km on the odometer never falled yet not even a clutch replacement. Nissan's are considered very reliable cars in Greece. Great channel friend...
Bought my 2007 SE in 2010 with 30K miles. It's at 170K now. No problems (except for the TPMS which I don't care about - maybe I'm old school, but I actually measure the pressure with the gauge that I keep in the glovebox). Love it - runs soooo smooth. I dread the day I have to get a replacement...
Hey Scotty, i still drive my 05 Nissan Titan with almost 440,000 Miles in it. Original transmission, engine, water pump, even Original AC and i live in Florida everything runs like a clock. I changed the started at 280,000 and the radiator when a rock hit it. I couldn't be happier with Nissan. To tell you the truth a hurts a little when you trash Nissan but i have seen the quality of vehicle going downhill; heck all the manufacturers are doing the same thing. Thanks for your videos.
The problem is the actual size of the package. For a front-drive vehicle, the trans has to be small, so they made the disastrous CVT, since those are much smaller than your average "front-to-back" transmission.
Hi Scotty, I had a work vehicle Nissan Navara STX 2013 and it was a beast. 275000 km was used a lot in mining areas where the heat an corrosive agents were the biggest factors to destroy any vehicle. Only things replaced apart of the usual oil, filters brakes etc was the steering pump as the system was leaking, throttle body and the cruise control. Not other issues so far as I know in two years. Fast and great for off roads pulling heavy loads. It might not be as Toyota but still a decent vehicle. Never had any codes.

Great as always. Could you possibly make a printable list of often overlooked maintenance? Like when and what to use on various rubber bushings/seals on suspension components. You have covered so many that I lose track. Would be great to have a checklist.
95-99 maximas were tanks
Same with i30s 96-99
Yep I had a 99 maxima. That was before the cvt
even 00-01 maximas are tanks, with the vq30-dek, my 00' has 231k and nothing wrong other than leaky upper oil pan seals
Even 2000 to 2003
Got a 03 maxima gle with two hundred thousand plus.. all original parts just the my radiator went out other than that pure reliability
My 2002 Maxima se 6-speed manual has 276,000 miles. I bought it for $600 a couple years ago when it needed clutch work. It has a few upgrades, 0-60 in under 6 seconds. I beat on this car everytime i drive it. I was up state last weekend going 120mph+ for a while
I just got a 2012 Pathfinder earlier this month with 130k miles and so far im loving it. The things a tank
When Scotty speaks, I know I will learn something!
everyone should have a mechanic who is upfront and trustworthy and knowledgeable - kind of like you'd like in your doctor
"When Scotty speaks.........People LISTEN!"
Hey Scotty I just bought a nissan pathfinder 4.0, because I saw this video, thank you
I have so much information from watching your video's everyday, I feel like it would be a waste for me to not do something with cars in my future!
i love Scotty, feel like at home when i watch your chanel
I have a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4! I plan on restoring it and keeping it for a LONG time!
My moms 2012 Nissan rouge awd just hit 201k miles. Never had issues besides ac compressor. Original drivetrain and everything. Should I do anything to help prevent cvt failure? How much longer do you think the car will last?
Don’t drive the vehicle hard as well as continue to change the fluid every 25-30k miles.
I have been viewing Scotty for years, and enjoy his frenetic, and entertaining posts. Well done Scotty...Big respect from New Zealand
God bless you all!!! Have a blessed day!!!
1:07 "sure there's all kind of warning lights on, but that's Nissans for you!" ☠🤣😂😭
I have a Nissan Pathfinder 2001 3.5 LE in northern Mexico, it works very well, greetings to all
Scotty-"I'm not making this up"
Hi Scotty. I'm a Nissan employ. I've been waiting about this video for so long :)
Love you, Scotty! I would love to get that jump starter for my ‘06 Accord! :)
Love the informative videos, and you keep me laughing.
Iam buying a pathfinder could do with this jumper pack 😬 love your show you've helped me do quite a few things with your knowledge keep casting all the best and good luck
I'm amazed that you found so many clients in the short time you've lived there.
Clients found him.
Why? He's a celebrity

I used to hate working on my cars ever sense i found your channel ive been slowly learning on my car
Over 300000 on mine still running strong
Original transmission?
Hey Scotty. Thanks for your help with cars. I jst wish we had some of the cars here in south africa.
I love the toyota trucks but here we only have Toyota hilux as our pick up from Toyota
Lucky you! I’ll trade ya my 4Runner for a Hilux ;)
All I have is a Tundra. Crazy...truck weighs 2960 kgs.
Guys those cars are beautiful and powerful. Hance the need for Toyota to bring them this side of the sea
Scotty i have a Nissan Almera sedan model of 2001 manual transmission it has 480.000 km on the odometer never falled yet not even a clutch replacement. Nissan's are considered very reliable cars in Greece. Great channel friend...
"One size doesn't fit all(shows picture of condoms)" 😂😂😂😂
Scotty's an ol horndog! 😂

👍
I wish Scotty would stop w/ the Hulk Hogan hate...he would fit in the third row seat!
Not open a restaruant
Bought my 2007 SE in 2010 with 30K miles. It's at 170K now. No problems (except for the TPMS which I don't care about - maybe I'm old school, but I actually measure the pressure with the gauge that I keep in the glovebox). Love it - runs soooo smooth. I dread the day I have to get a replacement...
Thank you for this video scotty you made me feel better about my Frontier with this engine and transmission 😁 interor too
Frontiers run forever...only bad thing about them is interior is dated and cheap plastic
There's a million mile Frontier
@@jimeagle1155 That's what I'm gonna. Have to change bro im at 141k

Scotty I missed you so much while I was at recruit training. You’re a legend thank you
Old school Pathfinder, as opposed to the current CVT mommy wagon nightmare...
2021 model no more cvt
@@blkbimmer90, all of a sudden they’ve understood they were going the wrong way :)
Anyone else get excited for “here’s some bonus questions and answers!”
You would think Nissan would want all their Transmissions to be like their rear wheel drive vehicles. I don’t get it. -Stephen, Ohio
The problem is the actual size of the package. For a front-drive vehicle, the trans has to be small, so they made the disastrous CVT, since those are much smaller than your average "front-to-back" transmission.
Time to pack my bong and watch Scotty!
This "IS" my clean, non-offensive comment!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣
I am offended!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣
Me too. How dare he point out the obvious. I'm not stupid ya know nrcd 2020 ....plus the channel icon is also offensive. Ouch my eyes!!!!!
@@IKnewMickey ope now I'm offended by your comment. HOW DARE YOU AGREE WITH ME IN THESE TRYING TIMES. I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR MANAGER. My feewings awe hurt :(

@@relentlessenterprises9238 I see you have 6 subscribers on your channel; I don’t think Scotty is one though. Look on the bright side-only 3.9 million more and you’ll be close to Scotty’s numbers 😚.
Scotty, Really Love Your Show. I've been working on cars about as long as you. Once in a while I see something on your show that makes me say WOW, but most of time it's like talking to me ! Thanks !
Hey Scotty, send me that jump starter let me know when to send you address.. haha have a good day
I've been through plenty of cars since I'm crashing all the time and I gotta give a shout out to my 09 altima with 250k+ miles for being reliable even though I abuse it EVERY SINGLE day (follow my insta fvckn.dead.loser to watch my shitty race car make it to 300k)
Hey Scotty - leaving a clean comment here as you said in this Nissan Pathfinder video. Thanks for all you do for us here on the interwebs. I regularly watch and enjoy your stuff and wish I lived closer to you in Tennessee as I'd hire you as my mechanic. Scott Brennan Cranston RI
Thank you Scotty for teaching us that good vehicles are out there. I love my 98 Nissan Frontier truck. Keeps on rolling.
Scotty's camera presence equals his mechanical authority! You are doing great job, mate! Thank you and cheers!
A friend had a v8 version and it was a true high mileage runner! Made it over 200 but they traded it off because of the cats. Other than the exhaust leak from them, it was an awesome ride!
Still rocking my 4.0 in my 2010 Frontier. Same Transmission as well with the pathfinder. Love it.
Love your no-nonsense automotive vids! I feel better all the time since buying my 2007 Lexus RX 350!
