For 38 years this song has given me such profound chills that I doubt I could ever make more than a few people understand just how truly devastating it is.
I had this tape randomly when I was 7. deep sleep n big mess were my jams like jammy jams. also, time out for fun. n it was still good when i was 17, 27, 37, and hopefully 47
Wow Alan is a great drummer. There were the quirky robot beats, but also beefy rock grooves with swinging fills like on this tune. Thanks for posting this tour ! ! ! ! I bought this LP on vinyl back then. I had forgotten how catchy all the songs were on this record + that great sound from Roy Thomas Baker.
I agree this album is a hidden gem and still slips under the radar; it tends to be one the least discussed material. It's by far my favorite Devo album due to the variety of themes, music and song construction... it's pure genius. This live version is awesome, I like how they accentuate the song here.
to me, not hidden, but dangerous: they unleashed a dark, disturbing collection - with a cupla more upbeat tunage to smooth the slide down the rabbit hole ... enjoy! 🤌🙈🙉🙊🤌
that's funny, pizzacat ....... never followed devo when they first came out .... as a matter of fact ...... i've really only been following them for about 2 years now ..... and i think they're awesome ........... sorry i never listened at the beginning!

very grim song; “is there a way i can un-learn how bad the world is and just go back to sleep?”

A smile is just a frown turned around on the face of a clown with a mean streak...
Love it! Just love it!

Audience = Heavily Sedated. How does one sit so motionlessly during Deep Sleep??? CAM AAAAAAN!!!
What did you expect? The song is literally called “Deep Sleep”
Excellent
"I can't remember what I used to know."
push me back, and let me go: into a dream again.
One of the best lines in a song ever!!
Nice to see and hear acoustic drums on this era material. Is there more? ❤
i cam from Deeper Sleep on Armor Games lmao
Then you shouldn’t be here

At long last - someone who knows how to specfy a date properly. Perhaps there is still hope for humanity.
