I like how they allow players to customize to build their own characters/party for each game (from DQ III onwards). It makes each playthrough seem fresh and distinct, and I can enjoy the game several times by altering the character customization and party for each playthrough. I want this type of stuff to continue to exist in future DQ games. (like I enjoy playing DQV at least 3 times, choosing different wife for each playthrough)
I can legit begin my Dragon Quest journey with the HD-2D remakes coming out later this year, and I'm incredibly excited to finally get stuck into this legendary series!

I've played & beaten DQ 4, 5, 6, 7(twice), 8, 9, & 11. All wonderful games imo! I have beaten DQ Heroes 1&2 and DQ Builders 1&2. These are great spinoffs as well! Currently, playing DQ Monsters Joker and am having fun! DQ Builders has actually made me invested in the lore of DQ 1 & 2 so I'm even more excited to play the Erdrick Trilogy for the very first time in HD 2D!

I’m simply enjoying the JP edition of DQ Tact. Right now’s the True DQ XI event where we’ll likely see the Hero of an Elusive Age later this month for the game’s 4th anniversary. I’m also excited to run a dubbed playthrough of III HD-2D real soon.
I'm a new fan even though I'm not totally new to the franchise thanks to The Adventure of Dai anime and manga that is loosely connected to DQIII and The Emblem of Roto manga that is STRONGLY connected to DQIII and now that DQIII is coming as a remake it's my time to really be a fan. I used to be into Final Fantasy but as a classic JRPG fan the series is now dead to me. My true home have always been Dragon Quest but it took me a lot of time to become aware of it. I even love Dragon Ball too and it was my destiny to come into Drago Quest sooner or later and this is the time, a new youth for the series even in the west. My JRPG desire is taken care of by ATLUS since 2018 and I love the angelic and esotheric themes of Shin Megami Tensei and I'm playing all the series but I couldn't resist to the call of Dragon Quest anymore, it's the icon of the very idea of JRPG. I've just finished Dragon Quest Treasures and started DQ XI. The whole Roto saga is somewhat connected and I wanna live it all with the renakes and the spin-offs, I have to read The Emblem of Roto 2, the sequel, in between DQ III and DQ I and I want all the remakes and remasters for the whole series not only the Roto trilogy and with add-on contents that help creating a more cohesive timeline and connection between games..... I could just say I hate the fact that the English localization changes all the names not only Roto into Erdrick but also Camus into Erik, even places like Delcadaar becoming Heliodor... I really don't know why but outside of it, what a wonderful series to be part of! ❤

As for FF... FFX is my favorite and FFXII is still good to me. As long as the series is somewhat turn-based I could apprecciate it. FF VII Remake could be a good combat compromise between action and turns. 🤔 I love how DQ (and also the ATLUS series) remain faithful to the roots of the genre.
In this day and age in which people and fans above all tend to complain and whine about what should be their favourite games this video is a breath of fresh air. Dragon Quest is THAT cool, but appreciating wholeheartedly something is rare nowadays.
I guess we technically have access to DQX if we're willing to jump through a few hoops... I wish they would localize DQX Offline but so far no word on that.

But if there’s one thing i would definitely complain about is that if DQXII is the “FFVII moment” for the franchise, then not only we’re getting more games, but we’re asking the franchise to be homogenized by casual gamers who are likely to ask for more changes to the series since they don’t like that is “traditional” compared to FF. So i’ll ask you the difficult question: is it really necessary to ask for the series to be more popular outside of Japan so that us fans can just talk about it to people who are likely will not try it anyway? Also the series would likely end up being like FF and its fandom in terms of divisiveness since we’re asking the series to be more popular and our fandom would be splintered like the FF fandom. This would happen in the future and this big question won’t be revisited until much later.

Well….. most of them had no clue what they’re playing and SQEX had to provide notes or scripts on how to market the game and they ran with it cuz they want exclusive perks from SQEX as well as to continue their parasocial relationship with the company. So everyone in the general JRPG fandom knows DQ but outside of it, nobody got a clue nor they gave a damn about it
I really enjoyed dqxi, dq heroes, and builder's, later dqx offline. But bummed its a headache to set it up ,online pc,or deck. Microsoft, throw phantom star online aside,give ip dqx online globally. And well remake and put 4 to 9 on steam. Dqx was great. Ff14, trash.

I love the Dragon Quest series but despise the translation and localization. Why do 90% of the names have to be changed? And why did they include odd dialects and weird accents in the game? I truly disliked how the localization team handled things.
Yeah, that's pretty much been a problem for JRPGs and anime for a long time. Them making very unneeded changes to the original script , and i know things won't always line up perfectly when translating japanese to english, but at times it really feels like they're just changing the dialog instead of translating it

I personally enjoy the accents for the most part, as it makes the games feel more worldly. It feels more like you’re interacting with different cultures that all speak different languages, giving a bit more identity and personality to the different regions in the games.
Square still owes us dq 10,11 3ds, monster 1 3ds , 2 3ds, joker 3 , dq9 is lock in the ds, dq 8 needs a defenitive edition cause 3ds content is great but lacks graphics a get what your saing but sqaure have a lot of work to do still. And thats only counting the ones that are not in english in my mother tonge (Spanish) i believe the are around just 4 o 5 mainline titles and a very few spin off.

They got a patch for it now. Personally I played the whole thing via using phone, translate app most game. Great experience.
As a new DQ fan I am absolutely stoked about all the games I'm now able to play. I genuinely have enough DQ games to last me for years to come
