So, there I was in the middle of a 140 BPM Techno track and needed a break as I couldn't get the chord samples to vibe right - they needed to be more spacey and no amount of VST filtering and FX nailed it. Close, but too static, something was missing. I thought I'd have a coffee and a gander at some UA-cam synth demos. A terrible idea 99.999% of the time. I typed in Techno analogue poly synth reviews fully expecting to waste my time. Up popped the usual suspects but I decided I would scroll down and up popped your title. Ok, I'll check it out. As soon as you added the FX I knew this was the type of sound I was looking for. I commented on here stating that I was about to buy the synth, but later I removed it thinking I might be able to produce the sound via one of my VST's and avoid spending £500. A few hours later whilst I had something useable, the sound, the vibe, the life of the sound wasn't there. The next day I bought the XD - which is entirely your fault 😉. Arrived , programmed up the sound following your instructions, loaded up the track, sequenced a couple of notes and the sound fits like a glove. Tried to edit and make my it my own, but nah, I got too familiar with your original and the track really needs the big spacey delay vibe so it's really just a slight variation. I'll need to give you credit for the sound if I release the track 😎
I mean where do you stop with it? Every flick of a switch or turn of a knob sounded amazing to me. This is my problem with ADHD and synths, I can't settle on anything as it just keeps getting better and I lose myself. That's the beauty of it, but the struggle is real 😂
I feel like this is what Audiopilz's Bad Gear episodes really focus on. Getting to know your gear before saying it's worthless. It took me over a year to get familiar with my Minilogue xd, Volca Bass and Volca Drum. I initially thought the Volcas were terrible, but now just the 2 of them can create a track, and with the minilogue xd in the mix it's just too good. A part of me always wants a new synth to "solve" my current issues, but I realized that unless I get better all synths are gonna suck.
great vid thanks for posting! how do you get the effect parameters / cut off etc to populate values in the oscilloscope? cant find the option to do so in global settings

Thanks. I’m sure you have to set Parameter Display To All in the Global Edit menu.
