Some mushrooms are actually quite photogenic. I remember a few growing in my geniculata enclosure and I let them be cuz they looked really good. Really added to the natural vibe.
What an ingenius housing choice! And I really want a calendar!! Having mushrooms means your setup is closer to natural, not a bad house keeping issue. I've been watching videos of naturalists looking for tarantulas in their habitats and there is all kind of growth in their environment. The spiders tame what they will and work with the rest. Tarantulas are very hardy in their home environments. They know what not to eat or touch even in human made environs. Congratulations Dave and Camera Lady on the beautiful photos for the calendar.
I love your channel. You are the most proud, educated and considerate spider-dad that I know. To be a "tarantula collector" is one thing but to REALLY CARE for these creatures and provide them with what is best is a whole other level. Thank you for providing so much information on the well-being of tarantulas. I am not a spider-mom but I do respect and love all creatures and wish them well. I hope all collectors provide them with a happy life and are not just doing to appear cool on social media. Remember guys, animals are not here for our fun, they all deserve respect and care. Respect to you Mr. Dave 🕷️❤️
I hate that coco fiber stuff as well. When it is bone dry it turns into a very fine dust which makes it almost impossible for any tarantula to burrow , does not hold structure very well either. I am not sure why or when the spider community decided this was the go to substrate
Very valuable input in the mold/mushroom situation. I used to always panic whenever I saw mold growing my Ts' enclosures. Luckily I don't have to panic about my Ts' health and just remove them whenever they pop up.
It was so cute watching you get so excited like a little kid opening up for Christmas present my Christmas morning. And it was nice to see your girl. All settled in her new enclosure. Very happy thank you Dave and Camer lady I always enjoy your videos no matter what they are.🥸🕷️❤️ have a wonderful holiday
Ah brilliant Dave, that cobalt blue has settled in very well now Dave, hopefully when the pairing happens it will be successful, the calendar looks fantastic, anyway Dave another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. I know I have been scarce but life happens sometimes. I had to comment on that lovely golden boy! What a beautiful spider! I do so hope he survives his romance. Babies would be nice. I will shoot you a message for a list of merch and prices. I really must have a calendar for my office and for my felting. It may be a while as I am still looking for work so finances are not good. 😢. All part of that life thing. I am keeping up with your videos as they do help with my depression a bit. Thank you for the video. Y’all take care and stay safe. Lovely camera work CL! 😕🫥❤️🧡❤️🩹
Hang in there God will provide your work, and I pray that your depression subsides a little. God bless you will help you looking at it those beautiful spiders.
Congratulations on the calendar! Would love one for our own beastie room. You know, since you just made 12 of your T’s famous, those now deserve proper names!! 😉 Thanks for another wonderful video sharing your knowledge and experience with the rest of us.
I am so glad she settled! seeing her so upset last week, I didn't like it. Just proves the point fossorial t's need sub. I love that calendar watching you show it was a joy you were so proud and should be those pics are amazing 👏 great info aswell nothing wrong with mushrooms , I find sterile sub worse for growing mold ect my thought being because there's nothing in the sub its easier for stuff like mold or mushrooms to take hold as there's no organisms to fight it. Its like a waiting petri dish. Just put in the springtails 😊 Great vid as always Dave, Camera Lady ❤
Great information as always Dave but I've always thought to myself that Tarantula's surly come across mold etc in the wild so it surly can't be a bad thing
great video PROFF to help others in the hobby with the mould and mushroom problems. i generally just remove the mushrooms with tongs. great callender with amazing pictures. some great work CAMERA LADY. many thanks guys and take care
I've found that springtails help with most kinds of mold that pop up in my enclosures. Since I've added them to all my enclosures I haven't had any major outbreaks.
Thanks very much for covering the mushroom issue! I actually quite like the look of the bright yellow ones, especially when they match the fake flower decor I have in the spider's enclosure :P Love how excited you are about the calendar :D
Great video Dave, I've been fighting mushrooms and mould but you have put my mind at ease. The new calendar looks amazing I'm hoping Santa drops by with one of them just need a price please as I can't make the show. Cheers Dave and Camera lady 👍
Another very cool video guys! and those calendars are awesome, I'll pm you on Thursday about those other items I wanted to order ...cheers from Australia!
Oh I love the calendar and I definitely want to buy one in im Australia so I'll jump onto Facebook and see how to order one and my birthday is also September I hate the date though for obvious reasons it's the 11th 😢 Great info about the mushrooms and mold I don't know how many people I've seen completely redo their enclosure because of a little mold and a few mushrooms so it's good to know that they aren't as bad as most people think they are As always awesome video guys 😊👍
The mushroom was beautiful (and very likely poisonous). The spider ignores it so it seems reasonable to leave it alone and not destroy all the work she's done making a home to her liking. (Mushrooms might even make a colorful natural addition to bio-active enclosures, though you'd want to "harvest" them before they release their spores.) Your spectacular calendar is the perfect gift for anyone interested in spiders.
Hi dave& camera lady. I love the calendar, put me down for 2 please. Unfortunately can't make the Brighton show so I'll buy from your channel. Well done.
QVC eat your heart out 😂 Those calendars are epic! most definitely be buying 1 on payday so look out for my message! Im not international but can't travel to the show from Scotland. Those images are spectacular. Once the year is over can cut the pics out for my bedroom wall ❤
I've always felt like most of us tend to overthink things rather then letting them be natural, I love your setups. closest to natural IMPO. Things grow in the wild, and our arachnids manage to live just fine with the majority of them lol p.s. although bed ridden and having to lose my collection, I just couldnt manage to exst without just one T, so picked up a juvinile avic. One of my favs for their nature
Hi Dave 👋 my baboon tarantula was killed by mold and luckily she had an egg sac to continue her legacy 😂 thanks for the videos and all the useful information.
Im dying right now idk what is better the calendar or the excitement from Uncle dave lol i honestly dont know what i enjoyed more im in the states and absolutely want a calendar is that possible
Currently have an h. gigas in a tank with bunch of mold and mushrooms just like in the video. Been like this for over a year, successfully molted and is healthy. I see no problem with having an occasional mushroom grow, if anything it only add to the natural look of the enclosure.
Always a fountain of helpful information dave thank you.... I recently had a few small mushrooms in one of my enclosures.(just picked them out and was fine after).!!. Love the chanel guys...many thanks again..Brendan.!🙏🙏.. ps don't go spoiling camera lady 2 much.!. Lol as she now knows what her main present will be. What else are you getting her.?!?..x lol
I canny believe I thought there was only 1 type of tarantula 😮 For years I just thought it was only the one you would see on TV or films. Alwys the same. I remember the film home alone in particular 😂
@@daveslittlebeasties message sent 👍🏻 Thank you both for all of the effort put into the hobby! I’m scared out of my skin with spiders, except for the small jumping varieties, but I enjoy watching you both handle and film the Titan sized tarantulas. I’m positive the lady of the house here will enjoy seeing big tarantula pictures all of next year 😂
Another AWESOME video Dave I had a few of them bright yellow Mushrooms in a couple of my enclosures I just pick them out and scoop out the wee patches of mould and where the mushroom was growing with a spoon and just put in a small amount of sub to fill in the scooped out part one thing I did get was a white and blue mushroom that was a strange shape so used a bag to pick it out never seen one before and since lol Them Calendars are MINT and am a September Birthday Boy too lol
Dave how do I get one of your lovely calenders I won't be at the show oh soz Dave I'll get in touch on messenger great video educational and enjoyable thanks for that
Fabulous video and an awesome calendar 😊 I have sent messages on FB for a list of merch etc. Need to order calenders for family 😊 Really excited for you with the calender. Top quality...you can see that ❤ Eagerly awaiting your response to message 😊
Dave, you are the best spider handler I’ve ever seen… 🤩 the spiders love ❤️ you… like I said from the beginning, you are Spider-Man 😊
Wow, 🙏 ❤️
Some mushrooms are actually quite photogenic. I remember a few growing in my geniculata enclosure and I let them be cuz they looked really good. Really added to the natural vibe.
I love how enthusiastic he is about the calendar and how proud he is.😊
They are awesome 😂❤️👍
Wasn't he a little charmer. He seems ready willing and able. Thank you both so much. 💓
I love the calendar. I have never seen a yellow mushroom. It brightens up the enclosure. 😊
You’ve got a good male for that lady! He’s ready to risk it all lol

Beautiful pictures in that calendar ❤

If I have mushrooms in my enclosure and I don’t want to see it I either cover it up with masking tape or turn the enclosure around 😂
I love when the tiny yellow peens pop up! It’s a bonus!
