Really one of the most beautiful pop songs ever composed.
The band's concert film, "Stop Making Sense," has a great version of this. Lead singer David Byrne dances with a living room floor lamp! Good fun for the whole family!!
Great film
@@JB-Deadskins It's my favorite concert film.
@@MapManLK it's definitely up there. The only issue is that it's not really live, except the final song. But it's still in the top five of "concert" films that were actually in theaters.
@@JB-Deadskins The whole movie IS really live, shot over 4 nights in a Hollywood Theater in 1983.
@@RandyHall324 you're right, I was confused because I remembered reading that Demme didn't turn the lights up on the audience until the last song, because he thought it made them less responsive.
What a great choice. Love this song.
Talking Heads were a breath of fresh air when they appeared in the late 70s and their excellence continued into the 80s. I love their movies too, Stop Making Sense and True Stories.
That's my favourite & best song Talking Heads ever made IMO,
One of my 10 take to desert island songs.
The production of this song is so good.
talking heads and violent femmes were like bread and butter in the 80's. Staples of life. Not a day went by I didn't hear them
8 8 8 I forget what 8 is for
9 9 9 For my lost God
10 10 10 For Everything Everything Everything
YOU CAN ALL JUST KISS OFF INTO THE AIR
My favorite Talking Heads album is either Fear of Music, Remain in Light,, or Speaking in Tongues!
Yes yes "building on fire"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and "sugar on my toung"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love everything you had to say about this one. Right on. Also, I just love Tina's baselines.
They are hard to peg, for sure. So very much baked into the cake of the 80s yet always set apart from the Blondies and Flocks of Seagulls. Very much committed to their own thing.
Great song even my hard core rock fans liked the talking heads
Talking Heads are in my Top Ten.
I remember when this band came out they were so different at the time , thank you Biz
My personal three favorite bands.
The Beatles
Steely Dan
Talking Heads 😎
Add The Cars and Chrissy Hynde and The Pretenders and you have my list...
Replace the Beatles with Rush and Supertramp and you have summed up my teen years.
Excellent choice Biz.
Talking Heads are delightfully weird. Always love to hear them.
This one also sounds great live, as heard in the movie "Lars and the Real Girl".
I enjoyed it live in the movie Stop Making Sense.
Great reaction. Love them! Thanks for sharing.
This is another band to deep dive into Biz.
Dozens of great songs with a unique style.
Cool band.
Your comment about them being futuristic is a great thought! You give really good reaction's always insightful.
I appreciate that!
Almost passed this one up cuz I didn't know the title, but thought, hey, it's Talking Heads, can't be bad. So yeah I know it, good one.
Nice! This dropped when I was in high school. It was one of the albums we listened to on the bus on the various trips we took to this place or that. Also check out "Girlfriend Is Better", "Making Flippy Floppy", "Slippery People" and others from that album. And check out "Pulled Up" for another taste of their debut album. Talking Heads members met at art school. So "Art Rock" is apropos. My favorite Talking Heads album is Remain in Light.
Great song! This one and Slippery People are my favourites on this album.
Love your reaction. Talking Heads is a band unto themselves.
My suggestion for a song to react to is Sax and Violins. It’s one of their last songs.
Let's Gooooooo
Wonderful song, which sounds unlike anything else. A perfect companion piece to this is Shawn Colvin's version 4:10 , one of the best covers ever. She takes a great song, completely changes the arrangement and many of the chords, while keeping the melody exactly the same, and giving it a very melancholy feel.
Loving the term 😂Geek Squad blues❤
😂😂😂
❤️❤️❤️
I love this song and this entire album is incredible. From this album check out Making Flippy Flop[y, Moon Rocks, Girlfriend is Better and from another album, check out Blind, it's amazing!!!
Thank for this one....classic...fire. You just have to do Born Under Punches LIVE Italy 1980!!!!!!
🔥
Saw Talking Heads on the tour for this album, "Speaking In Tongues", about a month before they filmed "Stop Making Sense". I developed a HUGE crush on Tina Weymouth, too bad she was already married to Drummer Chris Franz. Still think she is the best Female Bassist ever, sorry Tal Wilkenfield, and my favorite female ROCK STAR, sorry Susanna Hoffs.
