If someone is an initiate from a previous life, does he have to go through the same initiations again and if so, can he fail initiations that he's already completed in a previous life? How does that work?
My understanding is that this is indeed the case. With each new incarnation, we have a new body/mind that needs to be fine-tuned and therefore we would take the steps again, although it would no doubt be easier. For those more advanced, reincarnation is quicker and does not involve the creation of a new mental principle so the re-initiation would not be required.
There are no rogue entities. Tricksters is just an alien intelligence that has taken an interest in us and attempt at interaction, maybe humor? No malevolence they just do not understand what is ideal or easily understood by you. Peace.
Can a person be interested in the occult and theosophy, have the desire to serve humanity, but not be on this accelerated path of initiation? Or not be qualified for discipleship? Or are these interests an indication that this may be a path to learn more about?
This is certainly the case. I would go as far as to suggest that it is the service to humanity that is the important thing.... the accelerated path would be a selfish process without the first part. For the majority of us the f we focus on the service part we are on the ultimate journey that does not need a name.

I've always felt a desire to serve humanity, since childhood. And I've felt drawn to the occult since I discovered it existed. But, be it lack of ability or lack of confidence, I doubt I'd be qualified. It's good to know that I can still help in my own way even if I don't have greater capabilities.
Personally, I think the concept of Initiation is misunderstood, or perhaps we misunderstand them. At certain points in our pilgrimage, we undergo expansions of consciousness which can be momentarily or permanently which is what initiation means. This expansion of awareness continues forever and in future lives, we gain the fruit of our endeavours in this life, of course, that is dependent on what the soul's goals are in any life. We strive, through our practice to ever awaken more fully. Given these awakening numbers does not really help in my opinon.
