I bought this bowl from West Coast Shaving in blue and white. I just love it…..wide enough to lather nicely and deep enough to keep the lather in. The best thing though is the handle and brush rest. When your hand is soapy….looping your thumb through the handle allows you to pick up the bowl with one hand. The other hand can be used to pick up the brush off the rest. It works super for 2nd or 3rd pass lathering in the most efficient manner possible. It also cleans up easily and looks great on my shaving shelf.
I have the crimson-and-ivory color scheme. It arrived in great condition, but I am a little bothered by so many reviewers complaining that theirs arrived chipped or damaged. As for performance, I am always able to generate a great lather with it. I've not had chances to try their soaps, balms, and aftershaves, though.
my Simpson T3 Trafalgar was from West Coast Shaving is the best brush on the market today it's like buying a $200 badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a badger hair can, cheap to buy, i have owned it for 5 years with no problems wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas
I got a new lathering bowl the other day from Executive Shaving. Its stoneware and is handmade by a local potter up in Glasgow. It is absolutely superb, perfect size, easy to hold (as it as a flared base on the bottom) not too shallow or too deep, and they have spiralled ridges in the bottom to provide friction when lathering. I was struggling with my lathering before getting the bowl I mention (I've only been DE shaving for around 5 weeks) but this bowl has helped my lathering improve massively and its wide enough for large brushes and large handled brushes such as the Simpson Chubby 2 and the Razorock Big Bruce. Not sure if you would be interested in it, but here's a link to Executive Shaving's range of stoneware bowls, think there available in three or four different colours: Here's a link to them: www.executive-shaving.co.uk/stoneware-lathering-up-bowls.cfm

Great bowl. Captain’s Choice has some nice bowls with ribs to help whip up a great lather.
