Since this story they identified it as a bacteria and cleaned the school. It was not hand foot mouth. It was a bacteria called Haemophilus influenzae, despite the strange name it's not the flu, the spelling is different.
As a dentist , with a med lab background had to inform city health department because of kids coming in with hand ,foot and mouth virus. Noted especially in the k- group as they play . Called hand. Foot and mouth because kids run around with shoes off many put foot in mouth,etc.
