"Love to Love You Baby" sung by Donna Summer was the original song played when Michael began to skate with the doctor. It has since been changed in this scene.
I know right. I remember reading their Books when I was a Kid. Nancy Drew in her own way along with Pippi Longstocking (Sweden) epitomized Girlpower. They ahd a Swedish Version where the Main Characters name was Susanna she was 21 and a Lawyer. Isn't it hilarious they are playing You Sexy Thing and later on it was also used in Boogie Nights.
I'd forgotten how much I loved this. Watching it now is like opening a time capsule! Pink Izod Shirts, the Baths, Casual sex, Rugby shirts, ubiquitous Disco music, Cruising the Supermarket, 0 SPF suntan lotion, penny loafers, Adidas sneakers.
Don't forget this is only the 1990s, it was not filmed in 1976, so it is a bit fake. They have tried hard to capture the atmosphere, though. I went through a phase last year of watching the Streets of San Francisco, and it WAS filmed in 1974, they had the pot smokers, druggies, etc, and it was the real thing.
For some reason Mary Ann Singleton reminds me of Peggy Olson from Mad Men. They start out a bit frumpy, timid but as the years go on, they come into their own. Peggy as a successful Copywriter and Mary Ann A Talk Show Hos.t
Jeden z najlepszych seriali pokazuziacy historie życia mieszkańców sań farancisko moze trochę excentrycznych ale prawdziwych. Uwielbiam I zawsze wracam do tego filmu. Dziekujie. Hs NY.

This was so much better than the 2019 Tales of the City series. It was so PC and so cold and empty. This is a masterpiece - this the 1993 series. I like how the guy Mouse picks up at the bar looks like a male version of Mona.
I almost forgot that line. I had a similar on when I was a Five in 1971. Don't mess with Gay men when it comes to Fashion. Oh here's a fun fact. When they played Jive Talkin' By The Bee Gees from 1974 it was their First Hit n The R & B Chart and they had no idea it was a Expression in The African American Community for BS! They wanted Otis Redding to record To Love Somebody but he died before they could ask him.
Yes. When you have A Recast in a Miniseries Part 2, they aren't as good as the First One. Bess Armstrong played Judy Hale in Lace then Deborah Raffin played Judy #2 in Lace 2. Deborah was good but she didn't have that "thing" that Bess had. She was also considered for the role of Sandy in Grease but did The Last Convertible and a TV Movie of The Week about Two College Girls who were falsely arrested and got sent to a Prison Camp in The South whose Co-Stars were Lynn Whitfield (Irene Roots), Robert Reed & Della Reese (RIP).
@@laminage There is an old programme about a Yorkshire vet from the 1930s which I loved for the first three series, but the lead actress left and it because awful. I just could not watch it with the other woman in the part. It was a completely different programme.

@@treasurehunteruk9718 I'm guessing that you're talking about All Creatures Great and Small. Another miniseries continuation that suffered from a recast was The Winds of War / War and Remembrance. But that one went both ways... We lost Jan-Michael Vincent for Hart Bochner but we gained Sharon Stone replacing Deborah Winters and Barry Bostwick replacing Jospeh Hacker
Looking back it amazes me how much of an impact The Beach has had in Movies in the LGBT Community. In The Boys In The Band, They talk about Fire Island which was a Mecca for Gay Men before South Beach really took off, then The Gang hang out at The Beach during Fourth Of July Weekend not knowing it would be the last time they'd hang out and have fun before a Brand New Disease called AIDS came along, then in the Canadian Documentary Forbidden Love The Unashamed Stories Of Lesbian Lives one of the Ladies Interviewed talked about how on Sundays the "Gang" would go to the Gay Section of a Beach in Toronto through a Ferryboat and have a Sunday Picnic.
Back when people actually talked, looked each other in the eyes, made real connections, and lived in the moment. Despite the shadow of HIV/AIDS, I'd go back to the 70s and 80s any time.
No mobile phones or computers? Imagine how hard it used to be to have to find phone directories, maps, a phone box which actually worked! It is easy to romance, but it wasn't really better then.
Hey if any of you can Check out Frank Butterfield's Books. It focuses on Nick Williams a PI and his Husband Carter Jones a former Fireman who meet and fall in love in 1947 who live in The Tenderloin which was a popular but silent Gay Mecca. Read an Enchanted Beginning that shows how they first meet and fall in love.
I think Edgar meeting Anna was the best thing that happened to him in God knows how long. He was actually "Living" and not "Existing". It's like eating Steak & Lobster every night then one day you have a Delicious Old Fashioned Hamburger for once in your life, and you realize how much you are missing out on.

I really love this series, and Parker Posey who played Connie Bradshaw was great.
the music , the characters and the story is enthralling!
I just loved the scene where Michael meets Jon for the first time. Love at 1st sight
Mouse is so cute here.
"Hi.. I'm Nancy Drew you must be the Hardy boys"
hahaha cracked me 44:11

I totally forgot that The Isley Brothers Music has been featured in This Movie. They are one of my all time favorite groups.
They tried to make it 70s: Hot Chocolate, Elton John, Tavares, Trammps, Bee Gees, Kook and the Gang.
Mona is an icon
MT. How are you?
MAS. Great
MT. Not in that housecoat you’re not...
Love it

Now can you imagine if Mona Ramsey giving "Shade" to someone like Don Draper.
"mom he's not a strange man...he's a homosexual....WHAT"....
ONE OF MT FAVORYTE MOVES , THANK YOU AGAIN , hs.
Had forgotten how much I loved the series. Too bad D'Amico refused to return for the second part.

Ugh, Andy would’ve ruined the series with his obnoxious personality!

At 25:44 Baths for heteros... how avant garde!
I love this, but why is the bottom of it cut off? Spoils it a bit.
Hear, hear!

You hear that Brian. She wants you out !
