Laura Linney is excellent in this tv show. I really enjoy seeing her hairstyles, its the kind of look people really wanted in the 1970's.
This is one of those shows seen when young, that made you realize the world was bigger than we ever knew.
Watching “tales”, when does Yuri, Tear, and Chester come in?
1:26 poor mother was probably crying after that call.
10:35 look at that couple discussing a cucumber. lol.
So sad that Marcus D'Amico passed away in December 2020.
18:00 Famous Dynasty lillypond where Alexis and Krystle slugged it out!!
Also nobody knew that Orlando was once the place in the late 1990's where they had the last version of Mickey Mouse Club, Star Search and The Boyband Movement.
Laura Linney named her son Bennett Armistead....after Armistead Maupin.
"mom he's not a strange man...he's a homosexual....WHAT"....
great book and fantastic series. sadly SF at that point was just a few years away from the AIDS epidemic. many if not all of those well-heeled guys at a dinner party didn't make old bones trust fund or not.
This TV series changed me when I was in 6th grade. I already knew I wanted boys. It was just amazing to have popped up on the TV.
"Love to Love You Baby" sung by Donna Summer was the original song played when Michael began to skate with the doctor. It has since been changed in this scene.
Brilliant 👍
I was an extra in several scenes over the 8 episodes. Interiors of restaurants, bars, the End Up and other clubs were all shot at the then abandoned Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles in 1993. The bathhouse scene which I was in was actually filmed in the kitchen pantry area about 10 feet from where Robert F Kennedy was shot in 1968. It seems souvenir hunters over the years pulled up pieces of the linoleum floor on the spot where he fell. It was right next to the door that Jon Fielding (Bill Campbell) enters when he drops his towel.
You can’t leave an unpacked and unlocked 🔓 car today. I di not think you ever could. Thanks @Parker
You hear that Brian. She wants you out !
“And Bing Crosby ALWAYS singing everywhere” 😂❤
I have loved this series since it came out, but the one thing that has always bothered me is how she just leaves her Irish coffee behind ant the Buena Vista. Noooo! Drink it! Drink it!!
What happened to the sound track?
This was so much better than the 2019 Tales of the City series. It was so PC and so cold and empty. This is a masterpiece - this the 1993 series. I like how the guy Mouse picks up at the bar looks like a male version of Mona.
Boys in the Band 1970 is a nice companion to this series. I'm not gay and it's my favorite film. Seen it 75 times.
wow--i saw it once--new version is avail. now
I am gay, born in 1966, and I think Boys in the Band (1970) is simply dysfunctional. Those characters are their own worst enemies.
Thank You for posting this!
Do u have anymore episodes of season One? I lived in SF and have met amistad. I'm trying to find anything on dvd
16:13 absolutely love the cover the Bouncing Souls did of this song!
47:40 Anna looks like the Spanish inquisition 😂
This episode is so important to me as a trans woman in a situation similar to Mrs. M but wheb she was asked why she'd decided to transition i couldnt help but say my own answer "its who i was meant to be" rather than her friendship of women answer. It was empowering because it was authentic & just a response.
You can get pills to induce abortions. I am not saying this is right, but it is better than kicking someone in the stomach or trying to injure them in any way.
Mrs Danvers? Have they been watching Rebecca ........... It is a shame they had to introduce the F word into this series. The first series managed without it, now it is littered with F's, and coming from an old woman. They could have done better than this.
the f's are in the books.
Is Dede's kid going to be Chinese?
She has twins!!
Where is the windmill in San Fran they were standing beside?
There is a windmill in Golden Gate Park. You asked a year ago so not sure if you will even care anymore.
@@gardenlover9663 Yes, I do care. I don't delete my emails very often, so am glad to have your answer. I love windmills and there are not many left in the UK, but Holland has many. I will read up on it. Thanks.
@RedheadLondon Golden Gate Park is a very special place. I hope you visit soon. I won't list everything, but there is a Japanese tea garden, an art museum, a natural science museum (with a mini rainforest inside with birds and butterflies!), a gorgeous conservatory (not on the scale of the one at Kew Gardens, but amazing), a fenced-in area with bison, a children's garden (which looked very fun, but adults without children are not allowed), a merry-go-round (for everyone), a botanical garden, a lake with a little "island" in the middle, and the windmill (they plant lots of tulip bulbs sometime in spring).
This reminds me of Soap. All the bed hopping and different lives merging.
Dont sweat the audio interruption. It barely lasts ten minutes.
God, Laura is unique. Who can match her sweet, unsappy goodness of heart and her all-American girl loveliness? Sigh.
😊
Wish you fixed the darn sound problem before uploading to youtube.
Jonestown? Yikes!
Colin Ferguson in a pre Eureka role. Can this video be reloaded with the corrected audio?
If you listen closely at 35:30, it seems as though the composer is paying tribute to Bernard Herrmann's score from ''Vertigo.''
Billy Campbell was the only reason to watch it for original series Was Good, The actual one with stupid Ellen page is shit
I’m assuming that you had to change the sound for copyright reasons? Unfortunate because it ruins it.
this series paved the way for "Queer As Folk"...and maybe even "Will & Grace". All these years later, and it still delivers. Very well written and the cast, for the most part, was memorable.
wish there were good streams available. Where are the other episodes?
They’re all there. You simply have to search for them on here.
This is the only series that really tied everything together. The rest of them felt forced and uneven.
I saw a younger Thomas Gibson.🤤
Quite the risky role for him, playing a risk-taking bisexual. I know he wasn't defined by this character.
THE MUSIC IS FROM THE "VERTIGO" SOUNDTRACK??????? OR AM I CRAZY????????
They mention The Pyjama Game whose Choreography was done by Bob Fosse (RIP), and Fosse's name was also mentioned in The Birdcage.
Randy Crawford was also mentioned in B Boy Blues by James Earl Hardy that is a Book Series about Mitchell Crawford, his Boyfriend Raheim Errol Rivers and Mitch's Friends.
That was cool!!! Armistead Maupin’s cameo appearance … 2:06:49
I've seen Seasons 1 through 3. Was there a Season 4 or Season 4 is where Netflix picks up from. Do you like the Netflix one?
