I remember seeing this commercial during the 1998 All-Star Game. I thought that dog was cool, plus they were using Linus & Lucy, which made it 10x more awesome.
I used to watch the NBA just to see this ad. They motorized the chair and equipped it with a joystick so the actor could steer. Great Aussie! Thanks for putting it on Tube. It's been my favorite ad all these years. Now I have a red merle Aussie- must have been destiny.
I remember this commercial.... It seems like yesterday I was a 18 year old high school kid..... I drove a 88 Pontiac Grand Am First then a 93 Ford Ranger....
Maybe the greatest automotive commercial, along with the Opel MiniBrute and late-sixties Volkswagen ads. Everybody takes themselves too seriously nowadays!
I bought a '98 Frontier king cab 4x2 with the power windows and 5-speed. I put almost 300k miles on it before the timing chain tensioner broke. I then bought a new 2004 Frontier. Now driving a 2013. I miss the first-generation models: better handling and maneuverability.
@@endersstare328 KA's were also still available in them later, I have a 2000 reg. cab with the 4-cyl., only 104,000 on the clock and runs like a champ. 2001-2004 was still basically the same truck chassis (D22) but with a bunch of plastic trim. After 04 they became a new platform really (D40). I still like to call mine 'the last hardbody'. D22's were still sold for a as the Navara in outside markets for a while but it look like those have transitioned to the D40 chassis as well.
my dad used to have a green nissan pickup, i forgot what is it called but it has a shifting gear in it but it was stolen so my dad got a 2002 frontier from the people, he didnt bought it from a store, is too expensive so my dad bought it from the people.
the 1998-2004 Nissan Frontier was assembled in Tochigi, Tochigi, Japan Smyrna, Tennessee, United States Curitiba, Brazil Barcelona, Spain Rosslyn, South Africa Samut Prakan, Thailand Makati City, Philippines Taipei, Taiwan Aguascalientes, Mexico Zhengzhou, Henan, China Cairo, Egypt Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Khartoum, Sudan
I only remembered the tag line “dogs love trucks” this brought me back.
BC of this ad for over 20 years every time I see a dog in a truck "I say dogs love trucks" 🤪🐶🚛
I miss that Nissan Guy! Some of the most entertaining commercials ever.
This is a commercial that i never forgot!
I had a 1970 Datsun truck and i loved it more than my dogs!
You loved a truck more than your dog !??! I let my Yellow Lab pick out the truck she likes and i drive her around !

I love this commercial. Thanks for posting it!
You know what the best part of this ad is? No fine print saying "Do not attempt this."
this is a fun commercial, the Linus and Lucy theme just adds to it

Haven't heard that Charlie Brown tune in years!
Nissan had some really great TV spots back in the 90s... Remember the GI Joe/Barbie ads for the 300ZX and the Pathfinder
I was looking for this one! Thanks for posting this!
we have a Jack Russell terrier like that when I say "dogs love trucks" he goes nuts
what a blast
My Norwegian Elkhounds have always enjoyed rides in whatever vehicle was available.
I've never seen this one before. It must be from the same slogan as the midnight run one. Very funny. Thanks for the post :D
didn't realize that the commercials were this old.
I actually took photos of a 98 model non 4x4 King Cab at a car dealer. Great ad.

he called the police and reported that his truck is stolen :( but finally the police found it.
Totally funny luv it
I miss this version of the Nissan Frontier. I'd prefer this version more what Nissan sold since then.
+Jason Carpp I actually drive one. It had the KA24DE Four-Cylinder at the time. A V6 was in it in 1999

It was yesterday
I missed those Nissan commercials they should bring that guy(who appears at the end of the commercials) back. I wonder what happened to him.
+CountMetal Pat Morita passed away. I dont know if that is really him in this commercial or not tho.

Apparently, this commercial campaign did nothing to sell trucks. As Jason Vines notes in his book "What DidJesus Drive?," "Dogs don't buy trucks."
