    Ha,just come across your page.We got the exact same van,Ours is the FX upgrade.Same issues.Wiring,cupboards ect.Aircon never worked and all rear plastics warped and a few other issues however Jayco Perth whom we purchased it of addressed all the issues with out any hassle.An issue we now have is the front lower fibreglass panel has developed a crack so will have to make some more enquires to rectify.But as a whole we are vert happy with it.Any way safe travels.

      Our front panel was replaced before we got it for the same reason. Like you, we are happy with our van but sadly have had more issues which I will detail in another video soon.

    You can add the anti flap,kit for the awning works amazing. Agree on the 12 volt stuff as I have done the same. BMPRO is junk, will replace that soon. Love the Sphere set up though for lights etc.

      @@gettingtheretravel Thanks for that. No I have 19.61-2 so no slide out. There is wires in the aux port though, so I am hoping this is car input. Does the fridges run from the bmpro or does it bypass that.

      @@RVF7501 No the standard Jayco wiring is the fridge runs through the 12 pin plug (I actually removed it from the 12 pin and put it in an anderson plug). This is for a 3 way fridge, not sure about the wiring on a compressor fridge though.

      @@Ttnorth11I was going to buy one, but after watching this video, I'm really not too sure I want to go with Jayco. To be honest, I heard many years ago someone complaining about the fit and finish quality and how crap it was on Jayco's, but at the time I thought he was talking shit, now after watching this, I can see some truth to what he was saying. Very disappointing I'd be so pissed if that were mine and I just bought it.

    You can fit antiflap kits and curved rafters to the electric awnings, have fitted dozens and have had no problems.

    • @gettingtheretravel
      @gettingtheretravel  4 роки тому +3

      I'm aware of those kits. My issue is that unlike a traditional awning, these electric awnings require you to spend hundreds of dollars on after market items to fix a problem that shouldn't exist.

    The cupboard door latch hasn't improved in 2020 JJ 16.51-3. I have adjusted the catches and used shims. I know they are made to a price but does it take much more effort to install a cupboard door latches right?

    Thanks for the insight. I am looking at buying one to live in. I am a real greenhorn and know absolutely nothing about how things work in a caravan. Eg how the toilet system, water system, power etc works. Glad you mentioned the wastage in using a washing machine, Could you make a video for dummies on the basic workings of a caravan? I have looked on line for something like this but so far have not found anything. Enjoy your home away from home :)

      I am planing to buy for my retirement. Have a look at Kedron. Yes they are expensive but the quality is way beyond a Jayco. If you are like me and plan to have it for 10-15 years it will be worth it in the long run.

      Paul Steven’s is right you need to buy a good quality caravan it’s is worth it in the long run you should have these issues this guys having , it’s just lax workmanship , and a washing machine is a good thing , but u never use it while free camping they just water guzzler’s it’s for the caravan park

      We find it ideal as we came down from a 22ft Coromal which had a lot of wasted space (mainly cupboards we didn't use). For us and the way we travel it suits and I wouldn't want to go smaller. There's only the 2 of us and 2 small dogs.

    Which model is this? I have a Pajero NW and the comments I have read lean to stick with 2.5t towing. Looking at a 19-3 which will tip us over that and the 180kg limit.

    • @gettingtheretravel
      @gettingtheretravel  3 роки тому +1

      Ours is the 19.6-2. Has an ATM of 2778kg and empty ball of 166kg. The Pajero tows it fine but to be honest it is a battle to maintain the 180kg. I have to constantly be checking how I load to maintain the correct ball weight. This is why I am looking to upgrade the Pajero in the next year as this 180kg ball limit is a pain. It's a shame because the Pajero is a very capable car with this load.

    • @AussieMatias
      @AussieMatias 3 роки тому

      @@gettingtheretravel what are the options from here? I have been doing some research on this topic as it’s new to me and seems many suffer the same fate. Landcruiser is the obvious choice but out of our budget. Pajero Sport seems to be improved though. Most utes are no good. And how many people in Oz just don’t think about this? As I was surprised just how many caravans I can’t legally tow with a Pajero.

    • @gettingtheretravel
      @gettingtheretravel  3 роки тому

      @@AussieMatias The Pajero is fine so long as you are aware of the 180kg limit and it has a very good payload. I also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee (which I'm about to put out a video on) and it tows the van really well but not setup for bush camping like my Pajero and it's the wife's car. I disagree with you on utes, much better payload especially with vans under 3000kg since GCM is the limiting factor. I'm currently looking at either a V6 Amarok or the new D Max.
