Time 2:39 to 3:00 the audio is still audible and clear only the difference is the audio imaging from front now goes to the back of the source which is dji osmo pocket.
In reference to using the pocket facing an audio source. It is possible to connect your phone via cable to the Osmo Pocket and also face the camera towards the audio source. That way, you still get great sound and can now see what you’re filming. 😎
You just made my day! The Achilles heal to me was a continúes power supply. Or lack of it out-of-box. I’ve asked other reviewers but got no answer. You covered it in your video. So happy it will continue shooting using a powerbank. Thank you for being intuitive to the cameramans needs. Gracias 😊
Useful tips. It's 2021 and bought the dji osmo pocket because it's on sale! waiting for it to arrive so I can apply what I learned from this video. Thanks!
I have downloaded the new firmware today. I like the pro feature on the device itself without needing the phone. The autofocus should be faster now when turning the device quickly. Nice to see dji listening to their customers.
Very useful video! For the inception shot, why don't you point the camera straight up, then hold the Pocket with the camera facing forward? That's how I do it and it works very well.
Thanks Mike. Hey question for you. I was watching another UA-cam video that said you'll only get about 400 hours of charging. Have you heard about this? Sounds like we have a product destined for the Garbage Pile/Along with Osmo Mobile 2 after battery life runs out.
For most people 400 charges would be good enough for years of use. Also for most people the pocket would be a second or third camera so it wouldn't get much use for a lot it would be just a holiday camera maybe used a few times a year. I've found the battery lasts well below the quoted running times.
I hooked mine up last week. Very Easy to install. Haven't had a chance to field test it yet. Looks like it will work as a base to hold firmly in a pinch.
@@DroneSupremacy can you tell me why...can't find the option under menu...so you can do almost anything straight out of the camera without mimo app, except for story mode??? And now the timelapse in mimo is in 4k??thanks for you suggestion :)
Dude! I love your setup! Your videos are really great I love them! Right now I have a channel just with cinematic videos but you inspired me to build a little studio like yours, which I am starting! Thank you!
HELP HELP HELP. My OSMO Pocket won't stay connected to my phone. I have the Samsung G7 android. It connects then disconnects, then connects. Try to download a video to the phone it starts then shows disconected. I do not have the phone case on it so its not that. Seems to be somethng with the phone keeps assking to I want to allow. Not sure how to resolve this. Any help greatly appriciated.
Great vid. I'm looking to get one for my walks. I had no idea about the mics. Great tip. Have you used an external mic with it yet? I'll check out your other vids on this as well. Thanks -Henry
Mike have a look at the “skyreat aluminum handheld phone holder” on Amazon. It’s actually a OP/phone holder. I picked one up and absolutely love it. Comes with a tripod which doubles as a handle. Nice video by the way. Subscribed.
The 4k video quality is very good but there are issues with pocket. The annoying beep at the beginning and double beep at the end of a recording is just old technology. Next the pocket is useless when it comes to filming and walking the amount of bounce is really bad. Panning and keeping the horizon level is really good and not really possible on other cameras unless using a tripod or gimbal. Will I be keeping the pocket I have yet to make up my mind.
Ok, what about the DJI osmo pocket mic adapter? Not only DJI charges you a premium for what is a cheap piece of plastic and makes it impossible to use a third party equivalent adapter but, at least outside of the USA this item is impossible to find. I even managed to buy it from a local reseller, I am in the UK, to be told the day before delivery (a good three weeks after I ordered it) that it was out of stock and would not be back in stock for another month at least. Furthermore, two-three days later, I received a stock reminder from DJI (as I had registered with their service before finding out that a UK reseller had one in stock) that the item was back in stock. Nevertheless, when I tried to buy it from their store (I received the reminder at 11.30pm and I saw the email only two hours later when I tried to buy it from their online store) I could not buy it and customer service told me that it was out of stock and tried to convince me to buy it from an American resellers for close to double its price (plus possible import tax by UK customs).
Do you or does anyone else know if a USB microphone with a USB-C connector will work with the Pocket? DJI still hasn't offered an external mic adapter.
But if you put it into the wireless module, this covers the bottom mic - but you need this if you want to utilise the full facilities, without connecting your phone. Which you can’t balance without a tripod, unless you hold it. As for carrying a tripod - the whole point is that the Osmo Pocket is so portable, if you start adding tripods / mobile phone holders / mobile phones, you may as well stick with the Osmo Mobile 2. Most of us are going to use this for personal videos to record our travels, not to make Vlogs.
Cheers Mike. And the other nic tip I learned was to reverse the phone adapter clip so the little metal phone bit isn't sticking out of the handle. Hadn't thought of that :) Plus, a big blob of blu-tac is a nice way of fixing the Osmo to a table or something whilst doing a timelapse. But my tripod adapter is on its way. From China 🤣🤣 Cheers, Ian in London.
Thanks for the great video! Do you have a recommendation for a microphone that I can use with it? Also is there a video about the various settings of the camera?
Thanks for the tips Mike. I also like the osmo pocket. Must say it performs not bad in low light situations. Of course the device isnt perfect but its a great tool on the way. So easy to carry with you. I saw a comparison with the regular osmo. The quality is better than the osmo with zenmuse x3. I guess the quality is somewhere between x3 en x4. Awsome small and cute piece of equipment.
That turn around is so tricky 🤣 You said: Try, you will get there, but I must disagree. You can't point on the same spot and than turn it, without spot been missed. Just a detail. 😅
Set pocket to fpv like he said instead use the wheel controller if you have it or your phone it doesn’t do a full spin but works way better n stays a little steadier

Gonna return mine!
Smash the like button for the Osmo Pocket! :)

thankyou, so the battery on these units are limited?
Great video, thanks. I have had my Osmo Pocket for a couple weeks and haven't really sat down to learn about it. This helped.
Useful tips. It's 2021 and bought the dji osmo pocket because it's on sale! waiting for it to arrive so I can apply what I learned from this video. Thanks!
Great tips. Just bought this tiny gimble and liking it.
Thanks alot for the mounting idea
Excellent tips
Can I record sound with Anker usb-c to lightning audio adapter and Sennheiser Ambeo Smart headset?
It actually sounds better at 2:50 mark when you turn it away from you and say that its muffled.
Great tips, thank you!
Hi .thank you so much,i buy osmo pocket 2,but in mood 4k after 5 min, stop, shooting, can you help me why?
how is this in the rain? is it water resistant?
Thank you, Mike. I have ordered the Osmo today but have to wait 7 - 8 days for delivery 😊
It’s a long wait, I hate waiting for stuff to arrive, but in the end it’s always worth it 😀👌🏻
Can I set extra microphone on this camera for vlocking videos?
Please help me. I use dji osmo pocket, and the size of video so big, 15 minute and used memory 3,8gb, 1080 30 fps, its normal?

Compliment, very well done.
I had no idea there were two microphones. 1 minute into the video and already it's worth it.

Does this device have zoom features?
No, it doesn't
Good one
Honestly, I think I like the audio better when you had it covered. Patiently waiting for the 3.5 audio adapter.
Imma agree. I didn't notice the difference initially, but I listened to it again, and agree with you.
i thougth i was crazy. Good to know others feel the same.
Liked ! Useful informations thanks man 👍
great
Is there an hardware option to reset the osmo pocket? Hold the on off button for 12 seconds (as example)
Great tips. Great video. Thanks. Have subscribed as your tips and hints are fantastic thanks

Mike, would you advice to use the bluetooth adapter?
I hooked mine up last week. Very Easy to install. Haven't had a chance to field test it yet. Looks like it will work as a base to hold firmly in a pinch.
Haven't tried it to be honest, but from what i've seen it could be useful for tracking you from a distance, which is a great thing!
Gracias por los tips, faltan videos así en español para quienes no entiendes mucho inglés, gracias!!
Subbed and liked, thanks for the cool video
2:52 Actually it creates a 3D audio effect. I don't think it's that bad.
Ehi dude is that possible to format sd card straight out of the camera wirhout dji mimo app?
Yes, you can do it without the app :)

Does the osmo pocket have any zoom?
good tips.. thank you
Great
Do the filters help with the focus issue! Awesome concept but sometimes blurry and out of focus! A deal breaker for the price!
Dude! I love your setup! Your videos are really great I love them! Right now I have a channel just with cinematic videos but you inspired me to build a little studio like yours, which I am starting! Thank you!
Yeah me too! I love the background.
Having a studio or just a small place to work is a massive thing! It inspires you and motivates you, so definitely go for it! 🙌🏻
Drone Supremacy that’s for sure! I can’t wait until it’s done!
Hey,Mike. What is your hometown and are nice Locations there??
Amazing tips bro plan to buy one of this gadgets really

Great tips and apart from the FPV mode, and the ND filters (short of cash for those), I use them all.

Just do it external and sync it after.
DJI has a adapter. They just haven't sold it yet

Wow so many reviews saying the microphone is crap. It might be blocking the holes.
