*The following is a continuation of the musings of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!* [EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] "12:22 - "Ah, classic twist ending! Dad finishes cleaning up and makes breakfast, but the kid falls asleep while waiting! It's pretty much Murphy's Law but Murphy decided to give Papa Bear a break by getting the sandman to put his little cub to sleep, though still had him make breakfast for not thinking of letting the kid go back to sleep in their bed in the first place!" 12:45 - "Ah, yes the Arts & crafts episode! As long as there isn't any glitter involved, all the parents have to put up with is paint or hand prints on the walls! As Madame Gazelle from Peppa Pig once said, Glitter is a Menace (which is why she keeps it locked in a safe and no I'm not kidding as Peppa Pig actually has some decent british humor for the audience)!" 12:47 - "Oh this sounds ominous! I love it! Most narrators in these shows act like everything is hunky dorry even when it obvious isn't!" 12:52 - "I just love this concept! The Narrator makes it sound like he died in his sleep only for it to be revealed he's just sleeping in! Again this reminds me of an episode of Little Bear, were Father Bear is trying to sleep in!" 12:58 - "We all know that if this was real life, Papa Bear hear would be cursing or at least say Crap Baskets like in TFS DBZ Abridged! Or an old classic like dagnabbit!" 13:19 - "The body proportions are all wrong! Seriously is that supposed to be his father or Mr. Potato Bear?!" 13:21 - "Ah, yes, Papa Bear's poor choice of words comes back to haunt him as Little Brown Bear decides to help by painting the walls literally with paw prints!" 13:29 - "More like make daddy use some actual swear words if this were real life! Unless he's one of those profanity is sin types, though its really supposed to be saying GOD's NAME IN VAIN that is sinful! 13:34 - "Nah, this is typical kid logic and assuming repainting a wall is the same thing as painting in an artistic sense due to lack of experience and/or understanding the nuisance that differentiates the two! 13:38 - "Again, young kid! Doesn't realize what he's done will just cause more work for his daddy! Seriously little kids sometimes just lack the experience to know better and their attempts to help often just make more of a mess! Its failure & making mistakes like this or seeing others make said mistakes that teaches kids what not to do!" 13:40 - "Kid doesn't need meds! He just needs to learn that repainting is different from arts & crafts style painting!" 13:48 - "Ending is a little to abrupt for my liking as there is no conflict resolution, like Daddy comes home and he explains that while he appreciates him trying to help he should have waited until daddy got home to show him how! Seriously the kid isn't maliciously painting on the walls, he's trying to be helpful! I mean there are ways to teach kids they did wrong while also helping them understand what they did wrong and allowing them to help out by showing them the proper way to repaint a wall! It's an honest mistake and kids are going to make mistakes just like everyone else! The problem with this episode is there is no resolution other mom is not happy but doesn't explain what he did wrong! This episode definitely dropped the ball!" 14:09 - "Its a kids' show, best not waste too much energy and brain cells trying to figure our how this show's world works! Seriously it's like how the first couple seasons of Max & Ruby, where Ruby lives in the house with just her brother with Grandma living nearby! Ruby acts like Max's primary caregiver and at times acts much older, yet still acts like a bossy big sister and goes to school! Then in the last few seasons the creators decide that the parents being absent all the time is weird so they add them into the show around the same time Max becomes more verbal and starts attending preschool, with no explanation for their absence in early seasons (especially around holidays and other events like birthdays)! Ruby still does her usual shtick though the parents do take over from time to time! Again sometimes creators don't think of how their fictional world functions cause kids are far more accepting cause they don't have a grounded idea of what reality is and while some can tell the differences between fiction and reality, they are generally less picky! They don't question how Ryder from Paw Patrol can fund the Paw Patrol's operations (the theatrical films make it clear Ryder makes some money off Paw Patrol merchandise and the pups are seen operating a car wash for the townsfolk in one episode as the pups often wash their own vehicles/pup houses so they have plenty of experience and its possible they receive some public funding from Adventure Bay itself as they are basically the fire, air & water rescue, police department, construction, and public works as they are often called upon to fix local infrastructure and the Lookout Tower is a local landmark! Also Ryder has some arrangement with the royal house of Barkingburg aka Paw Patrol's equivalent of England where they provide security and serve the crown in a MI6 like fashion, before becoming actual knights so Ryder may be getting some funding from oversees as well)! Again its not something kids think about! I mean when you were young you never thought about taxes or rent as those are things you learn about as you get older!" 14:10 - "Kinda surprised they'd do an actual episode where Little Brown Bear is interested in a girl! Most shows these days avoid outright romantic pairings (as they can't really represent LGBTQ+ crowd unless it's adult characters and even then take stuff can be controversial! I mean sure adults can get married and kids can play pretend, though it's usually just implied the boy likes the girl or vice versa, or they go the boys don't like mushy stuff and are scared at the mere suggestion of kissing a girl in a play (Ryder does this with Katie in Paw Patrol with the two both being close in age and having jobs (Katie runs the local pet parlor despite being a kid like Ryder as the show features kid/tween characters who have jobs usually held by teens or young adults some which may require a college degree like an archeologist! Again its one of those aspects kids just accept and you could age up the characters and it wouldn't effect the plot very much, other than Ryder & Katie would probably be allowed to date)! Also those that do feature love useful tie it to Valentine's Day, puppy love, just a crush, or they have a friend of the opposite sex whom they have a strong friendship that could be interpreted as romantic or that is setting up a future romance when said characters are older!"

The queen's/king's English can be quite different from American English! I mean power cut, instead of power outage!" 5:48 - "Don't you mean PedoBear?! I mean, the -phile part is supposed to be silent!" 6:02 - "If course I remember it! It's one of those internet memes you can't really forget, even for those of us who haven't spent a lot of time on Reddit!" 6:23 - "Aka, just another day that ends in WHY?! And no, I didn't mean the letter Y! Seriously, kind of surprised Cailou hasn't had a title card like this!" 7:08 - "This is an old school form of parenting called TOUGH LOVE & NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT! Basically mommy is punishing him by taking him the long way around in the rain hoping he catches a cold so she can wag her finger at him for wanting to stay outside in the rain after she drags him inside! Its like letting a kid eat a bunch of junk food so they get a tummy ache! Its letting them have their way a bit and letting the consequences serve as a punishment!" 7:16 - "Better hope Momma Bear don't believe in the BELT or the even more messed up form of whopping, the choose your own switch (a stick which your parents would spank you with)! Seriously I remember a comedy routine where a comedian talks about how messed up The Choose Your Own Switch thing was as basically the kid was choosing the implement of their punishment! Personally I think humans should stick to their bare hands if they uses spankings at all! If done right it isn't abuse just a form of punishment that shows there are consequences for one's actions sometimes painful ones! Also in some cases you can just resort to the more tame version aka the literally slap on the wrist which is great for kids when try to touch things they shouldn't like a hot burner or pan followed up with a classic finger wag and a firm NO! Just a quick small amount of pain as punishment while also stopping them from injuring themselves or touching something they shouldn't!" 7:18 - "Oh, Hi POT! My name is KETTLE!" 7:25 - "MAMA BEAR ain't wrong! Also Little Bear on Nick Jr back in the day is the GOAT compared to the piece of $HIT that is Little Brown Bear!" 7:29 - "The parenting here is leagues above Cailou! As Mama Bear acts like an actual parent and doesn't stand for Little Brown Bear's misbehavior! Sure maybe she's a little heavy handed for some people but her parenting skills remind me of my own mother and grandmother, in that that actually act like mothers who are firm but fair!" 7:40 - "Again its a form of punishment, let them sit in a puddle throwing a tantrum while mommy focuses on her housework!" 7:50 - "Its a more subtle form of storytelling! Instead of beating the message into your head, they imply he learns his lesson after he calms down and realizes mommy ain't gonna tolerate his misbehavior! Its actually very realistic as sometimes kids don't learn their lesson or need constant reinforcement that if you cross a certain line your going to be in trouble & no amount of whining or temper tantrum is going to change that so they might as well accept they lost and behave themselves! I mean kids often do things without thinking of the consequences or try to push boundaries to see what they can get away with!" 8:10 - "So what?! There is nothing wrong with kids playing outside after it rains as long as they have there boots and maybe their rain clothes! After all if Peppa Pig has taught me anything, jumping in puddles is a children's pasttime! Also she's encouraging his interest in gardening which is good honest labor and a great hobby for kids to get into! Also they can actually help mom out in the garden so its a win-win for mommy & her son! Besides he did ask politely which shows he has learned his lesson at least for now! Kids are like sives they sometimes need to learn the same lesson over and over until it sticks!" 8:14 - "I disagree! Sure the kid's a brat but that's just being realistic! All kids can be brats at times! Most kids either don't know what they are doing is wrong, do know but don't recognize any consequences other than getting caught! The again sometimes kids do things without really thinking especially if they are impulsive! I for one think these episodes are far superior to Cailou as the mother acts like a real mother, punishing Little Brown Bear when he does something he shouldn't like refusing to listen when she says no and leaving him knowing he will eventually come back once he's calmed down! Sure you could argue negligence especially in this day and age (I mean she's lucky the old bear wasn't actually a PedoBear), though odds are she was just waiting for him to come over to her as that's what good mothers do, wait it out rather than waste energy arguing or trying to move the kid by force! Its the let the sit and cry approach! Eventually kids get bored, tire themselves out, and/or realize mommy ain't gonna cave!" 8:25 - "Ah, a classic kid show lesson, the importance of sharing & not being a selfish brat!" 8:45 - "They probably wanted to name him Little Bear but that one already had a much more well-known character by that name! Seriously Little Bear is a classic and one of my personal favorites! Also Father Bear was voiced by the same guy who played Beastly from 90s the Care Bears cartoon!" 8:54 - "So does this mean Little Brown Bear is supposed to be the bear equivalent of black kids and Little White Bear supposed to represent white people or Inuit cause Polar Bears represent the inuit does make some sense! Or are they half inuit/half norseman? Then again are brown bears in this literally brown bears while white bears are polar bears and they're race relations are completely different from humans! I mean you can never tell where they are going with Anthropomorphic animals & don't blame me, blame the idiots who think Chase from Paw Patrol is racist towards Zuma cause he's a German Shepherd police pup while Zuma has brown fur cause he's a chocolate lab! Sure he and Chase do compete in stuff, but its just friendly competition between coworkers and friends!" 9:27 - "Ah, a Scooby-Doo classic!" 9:38 - "Again its a subtle kind of story telling! Obviously Little Brown Bear wants to have fun with his friend and simply realizes his friend is done tolerating his selfishness and Little Brown Bear just gives up and/or he started behaving cause his mother is watching them! Kids will sometimes behave when their parent is around to avoid getting into trouble!" 9:48 - "I think its a more subtle form of storytelling that shows kids figuring out on their own how to behave correctly without beating the audience over the head with the message!" 10:30 - "Its funny how when kids are younger they will wake up early in the morning (if they haven't stayed up all night), yet when they are teens or older you can't get them out of bed! Heck its usually on the weekend when they pull this crap or when their parents day off!" 10:49 - "Papa Bear knows his Little $HIT STAIN of a BEAR CUB is just trying to rip off a similar episode from the OG Little Bear!" 10:58 - "Careful kid! PAPA BEAR looks like he might be willing to use the BELT!" 11:04 - "Its called being an ADULT who is tired! You know a good way to fight boredom... sleeping in! Or you could just go downstairs and watch cartoons!" 11:16 - "Isn't it obvious! Seriously Papa Bear, there is juice and glass on the floor! You don't sound half asleep!" 11:21 - "Either he really is a thoughtful kid who messed up by accident or he's a smart kid who's learned what to say to get himself out of trouble! Seriously that would be a grade A fib! I mean you'd have to be a super strict hard@$$ to punish him!" 11:32 - "Not so much a rip off, but a The Simpsons Did It phenomenon! Certain genres of medias have tropes that get reused as they are usually based on common experiences like children trying to do something but making a mess or spilling something! I'm just saying there aren't many scenarios that another kids show hasn't used a similar plot or trope to teach a lesson! Its like a video on house saftey tips (like don't put forks in electrical sockets, don't touch a hot burner or stove, and don't pour water on a grease fire, smother it with a pot lid or use a fire extinguisher), and don't play with guns and always treat them as if they are loaded! This is why sharing or accident episodes exist!" 11:39 - "Kids being afraid of monsters is a trope as old as the concept of childhood! I mean its in Look Who's Talking 2 and countless other shows like Max & Ruby! Cailou & this show are just using typical childhood experiences!" 12:01 - "This is how you be a parent! Parenting doesn't always have to be tough love! Sometimes kids like adults make mistakes! Kids however often are afraid they will get into trouble! Failire is something adults & kids have to deal with and accidents happen! When you kid is crying like this, that's when its the right time for a parent to try the soft approach and be understanding! The kid was trying to avoid waking his parents while doing something nice (making breakfast) but they mess up and dad consoles his son rather than punish him as he sees it was obviously an accident!" 12:08 - "The third time was an accident! Also the kid is young and obviously full of energy in the morning! Yes, waking his parents up like that is annoying but being a parent means something you have to grow a thick skin and recognize sometimes kids just can't help themselves! Also probably best to get the kid out of the kitchen so dad can clean up the glass before the boy steps on any of it!"
