With the Snakeye, only a nose fuse was installed... Shaft of the fin assembly treaded into the tail fuse well. On slicks, nose & tail ensures a bang... With the load outs I was familiar with, the delay element installed was the same for both, both will trigger at the same time - theoretically. We ALWAYS installed a nose and tail fuse on slicks if using standard M-904 and M-905 mechanical fuses... Electrical fuses? Whole different animal.
Just in time Cap! I just bought the F5 and started getting the hang of missiles and such. Now i'm moving onto bombs. Thanks for all these tutorials, as they're some of the best on YT.
More speed, Cap, that would've helped with the spread on the ripple. ;) Also there's not technically a necessity to reset the pylon selectors. I kinda like to leave them up as a reminder what I have used up already. One important thing to note though is that it is of critical importance to set your bomb/rocket program selector back to "safe", otherwise you will not be able to fire A2A missiles if you get yourself into a dogfight.
AFAIK If you drop a snakeeye without tail arming, it should not deploy the drag device. That way the bomb becomes an optional high-drag device allowing the pilot to choose later if low-drag becomes more appropriate for some unforeseen reason.
M117 is 750lb bomb so it's between the mk82 and mk83 if you watch Vietnam footage the F105 used to carry a ton of these and so did the B52's. It's from an earlier GP bomb series than the Mk8x bombs, there's also a M118 bomb that's 3000 lb but i don't know if it's in game on any aircraft. These bombs where introduced during the Korean war.
I need to be that guy again and point out that the guns & missiles switch isn't a master arm toggle at all, it doesn't have any effect on bombs or rockets. If you want a longer ripple you need more ground speed, reducing dive angle can help a lot as well if you can afford it. It's also possible to gently pull back on the stick during weapon release to spread them out but it's pretty sensitive. I tend to stick with the highest interval even for level bombing at mach 0.9 It was really sweet of Belsimtek to add the quintuplet rack but turns out it's draggy as hell. I did some testing and found out that for now it's best to keep the bombs in the wing pylons and put the tank in the center for any longer range missions. I hope they tweak the drag model, it can't be that bad in real life or nobody would have used it.
Your ripple switch looks neutral (ie. not up, right, or down,) not sure if that matters. Almost seems like it dumped all 5 at once. I never knew the F-5E could carry so much lovely destruction :o
it's so hard in this plane, one major reason why i much prefer the mig-21bis in this era, it at least has a targeting computer instead of having to do trigonometry on the fly like the tiger requires
You'll notice it later exploded. I wonder if the damage % is based on something like how much of the vehicle was struck, rather than "is it destroyed?"
@@msanchez7317 I DID see that it was later destroyed (or was that another vehicle?), but honestly, a bomb landing THAT close to a light vehicle should annihilate that vehicle immediately.

Mk. 117s on the BUFF were primarily carried on the external pylons, 2 MERs per Pylon in tandem

This video in summation = CAP misses his Viggen !
I know it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released series online?
@Joaquin Luka lately I have been using Flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Merrick Nash definitely, I have been watching on Flixzone for since april myself :D
@Merrick Nash Thank you, I went there and it seems to work :) I appreciate it !
@Joaquin Luka No problem xD
dudes got the eyes of an eagle
Hello, are you flying over Nevada o Peršić Gulf? Thanks!

how do you make these easy practice missions?
Just use the mission editor to make any easy mission that you want.
How is it that you are able to select your loadout?

"M1045 HMMWV TOW damaged 18%" - oh DCS....thats a bomb literally falling right next to a HMMWV.
