      Lisianthus, Celosia, Gomphrena, Zinnias, Blue Sea Globe, like 20 something roses, tulips, lillies, daffodills. Not like a ton but we grow on like an acre. Its really fun other than dealing with pests lol@@TheThriftedPlanter

      I forgot to cover my Lisianthus seeds this year in vermeculite, it helps with keeping the algae down and the seeds moist, so guess were gonna see how they do without it :/

    Happy New Year to you, hubby and all the animals ! I guess I will need to make some space in the garage for seeds. I love violas and pansies. I so admire how you store your seeds ! I haven't been careful with mine and left them on the patio to get wet. I will do better because I so enjoy growing things. Just not the putting them in the ground so much.

    Thank you for this! I just found you yesterday. I am a fellow Ohioan living in central Ohio.
    I am only a few years into gardening and have never grown from seed, but hoping to try this year. I have a small portable greenhouse like you had (prior to your cats showing their distaste for it….I get it, I have 2 cats as well🥴.)
    Would that be the best thing to grow in with a light and heater? I am also trying to grow in a small area in my basement and it runs around 64-66 degrees down there. This has been so helpful, I am writing out my plans and hoping to get started in the next week or so. I look forward to more videos!

    • @TheThriftedPlanter
      @TheThriftedPlanter  11 місяців тому

      Hello!!! Yay! I love meeting other Ohio gardeners! If you are using the greenhouse in your basement to start seeds then yes grow lights and depending on what seeds your starting you may need to add a little heat as well. So for example my basement is about that same temp you gave. I am starting cold tolerant seeds that don't need higher heat to germinate. Later in March when I start seeds that need a little warmth I'll use seedling heat mats to keep them warm and aid in germination. I hope that makes sense. I do suspect that as spring comes along my basement will warm up even more. This is my first time growing in my basement so I'm learning as I go.
