The medals for gallantry basically just means Tommy received honours for exceptional acts of bravery during the war. His dream also shows that he was a tunneller during WW1 which was arguably the most dangerous job in the army. Tunnellers were responsible for digging tunnels under “no man’s land” to plant explosives under the trenches of the enemies. The risk was being discovered by the enemy, or the explosives blowing up with you in the blast.
most commonly these men also died during cave-ins, suffocating and trapping men while others have to save them/dig back to their spot, just to keep digging past their dead bodies while others gather them.
Cillian Murphy is objectively one of the most strikingly handsome actors currently working.

I actually like when it's a group and one person has seen some of the seasons - I like the discussion it creates. And Rob is really going to love the seasons he hasn't seen! This is a show that is amazing and keeps getting better as the seasons progress.

Grace empties spittoons (spit buckets) because a lot of men dipped tobacco back then. They spit tobacco juice into the spittoons.
Emptying them was Grace's way of showing that, even though she's "too pretty", she's not afraid to get her hands dirty.
I always find it funny how so many younger people say it's "peaky blinders" music when all the "old people" are like, it's Scream music lol
What's really crazy is that this series gets better than better. Each episode is rock solid. And the last episode is easily the best episode of any series ever. A strong ending is something many series fail to achieve. Just look at Games of Thrones. Peaky Blinders is easily the best series of all time. This show has everything - great story, great acting, great cinematograhy, great soundtrack. I'm also liking how divisive the show can be, for example, different people are liking hating different characters.

Hearing & seeing Benjamin Zephaniah was a treat, forgot he was part of this show. Jeremiah “Jimmy” Jesus, plays the street preacher and good friend to Tommy. If you don’t know he was an amazing poet, beautiful writer, musician and impactful activist. He was also a proud Brummie (person from Birmingham). He sadly passed in December so it’s lovely to be reminded of him.

I would recommend Boardwalk Empire as a show for the future. It's like Peaky Blinders, but with actually good writing, characters and storytelling. Peaky Blinders is fast food tv. Nothing wrong with that, but if you want more substance in a show then Boardwalk Empire is an all time great. Way better from a writing standpoint
