Man I used to love your videos and trapping until 4 years ago. We gutted a house, I found 2 baby raccoons in the attic 3 weeks old ( Bonnie and Clyde). I bottle fed them and raised them. Clyde chose to live in the wild, Bonnie chose to live with me. She is free to go anywhere she wants when I'm at work. When I come home she comes in the house just like a dog or cat she lays around eat and sleep. Bonnie goes to her chair every night for dinner and my husband let's me sleep with her on the weekends in her bedroom. She's almost 4 years old now and no longer destructive. She is the love of my life! She's been fixed and has her rabies shot. They have such loving personalities.
The cat obviously liked the sound of your voice, the tone told him that he wasn't in danger and didn't feel threatened. Even after releasing him you kept talking and the cat felt comfortable and wanted to stick around. He was so beautiful and cute.

To much human interference in the natural world often does not turn out good, look at all the invasive pythons in Florida DECIMATING the local wildlife, Thanks to ignorant stupid humans that bought them for pets letting them go on the countryside once they got tired of them. Did those humans stop and think what might happen if they were let go? Of course not. Cheers!!!!
Great video and thanks so much for the practical advice. You do a great job to explain things to both the trapper and the non trapper. Great to see you on the trap line again!
Thanks allot for showing this video. I don't do any hunting or setting traps, so it is nice to see how you handle wild animals under duress. Take care.
Here in Alabama all trappers are required by state law to have a catch pole/choke stick with them while running traps. I use a 4 footer identical to the one you are using here.
@@Heli4213 Haven't read about the channel owner at all, but on a guess, the trap was intended for a different species legal to trap and kill. Trappers release animals they weren't targeting. Hunting and trapping is legal at certain times of year and in certain places because the species in question (example: raccoon) isn't threatened with extinction, and some number of them can be harvested without impacting the species as a whole. Though I wish hunters and trappers would explain on their videos why they didn't harvest a particular animal. It would go a long way towards clearing up misconceptions.
The traps are what people say they are. They should all be banned. This cat was still in shock and his foot was sore from being in that crude leg jaw. It wasn't because he didn't know what he thinks. I'm saddened for these innocent animals suffering through these sinister devices and those employing them.
When I was a young Boy I use To Trap muskrats in new england. There was a furier in town that I would sell the Pelts too. Then I realized how Cruel leg hold traps are.
Thanks for sharing! And yes, various different methods of release. Over in our neck of the woods, we use a black sled, cover the animal, expose the foot hold trap and release. Keep up the good work!! Cheers from Ohio!
Great job on the release of the bobcat hopefully the state of Illinois will start letting you all have some more tags. Here in West Virginia I am aloud to take 3 bobcats a year.
That is a bunch of BS! That cats foot was badly broken. It was not unharmed! You think because you let him go for the camera that you are fooling people. That poor thing did not deserve to get his foot all smashed to crap!
Thanks for the information. What a beautiful cat; from the front his face looks so much like a tiger. Maybe he's just hanging around to show his gratitude. I've seen videos where animals do that.
Same thing happened to me last year. Tried a bucket. No good. Used the catch pole and the cat just stuck around and didn't leave until I started the sxs
You got the cat loose and after which mentioned "You don't know what they are thinking". I've had a coyote run right up to me and stare me in the face. "You don't know what they are thinking".
BobCat was not moving because it was so tired and wanted some fresh water and was sort of thanking you for you releasing it You couldn't understand a simple signal
@@debbieneel8344 He has tags or permits for trapping other animals but not for Bobcats and he cannot control what animals get caught in his traps so he has to release the Bobcat. If it had been a Coyote or a Raccoon I’m sure he would have harvested it. Once again watch, listen and pay attention. You might learn something if that’s even possible.
bobcats are just like that. i think they dont run bc they dont want to look scared. and it is a cat so its probably thinking about all kinds of shit to say to you haha.
Most trapped animals have been in the trap for a while and most are not injured and he was doing his best not to injure the cat when releasing him and the Bobcats most the time it take them a while to understand they are no longer trapped and free to leave well done on Trappers end on his regards for the Cat
That cat obviously knows you set him free. He probably doesn't realize you're the one that caught him to begin with, but he definitely knows you helped him out. He's thanking you in his own wild way. That's literally a Bobcat saying, thank you. That's the best you're ever gonna get. I know this because I know cats. They are much much smarter when people think. Treat all wildlife with respect. It's one of God's creatures.
If that cat wanted to leave, it would have done so when released from the snare. It did not appear it felt threatened by its demeanor. Otherwise it would have been hissing and its ears folded back as defensive behaviors. Instead, it appears the cat was grateful for being released and saying thank you for being so kind.

That's exactly what I thought as well.
Whether that’s true or not no way would I have turned my back on it for even 1 millisecond
@ADAM-qr7bi lol NEITHER WOULD I !!
the cat was in shock, tired and scared.
Did you set the trap..?
The cat wants a treat for the filming!
Exactly! He's thinking: you caught me and you're not going to be rid of me so easy.
The cat is in shock..
Bobcats are beautiful animals. 😊
Thank you for setting him free...I am glad he is not hurt

That poor cats foot was broken and bloody. Not unharmed at all.
The cat is injured, hence why he barely moved.
A broken foot is a death sentence to a cat. Smarten up.
Very interesting. The tip about getting the leg in the noose seems like something I need to remember. Thanks for doing the video.
Wow, you are the fourth video today that showing how to release a Bobcat.
Thanks for setting him free I love bobcats they are so beautiful great video
Agree, now pick up your traps and trap no more.
All traps should be outlawed!!!
Great video and thanks so much for the practical advice. You do a great job to explain things to both the trapper and the non trapper. Great to see you on the trap line again!
If you quit putting out traps, then you don't have to worry about this! Bobcats are beautiful. Leave them alone.
👍👍
That’s really cool! Glad you were able to get him free! Good job!
Great job! An update in the camper build would be great

Great looking cat!!!
That is a good looking cat. Great spot pattern
Yes - looks healthy! 😊

Probably SHOULD be that way everywhere. But also SHOULD be able to do a lot of other things lol
Dang that's a pretty one
Thanks for helping him!!!!!!!!
You are a saint!!!!!!!
He is the one who trapped him in the first place.
Why?

Great educational video, not to mention that’s one good looking cat spotted up real nice. We are starting to see a few more cat’s here in Indiana.

Such a pretty cat!!!
It is a blessing to have good people like roaming the earth
It's the same guy who trapped the cat...
Good people don’t trap wild animals just to get views on how to release them. That cats paw is messed up forever!

Exactly.
Good old Illinois hardly give out permits for bobcats but hey keep as many grey fox as you can……makes sense 😮

A couple IQ higher and the cat would also know who trapped him in the first place.
@@subsidiarity8839 apparently the commenter above doesn’t have those two extra points either.
Great informative video....one wonders where they are in their heads how they have processed the experience...very curious
Dang that was a really pretty looking bobcat, nice meeting you at the Hoosier trapping rondezvous
Cat was surprised that a human helped and stuck around trying to figure out what just happened !
This guy is a warrior nerves of steel the likes of which we haven't seen since Alexander the Great
Hes waiting for some Temtation treats!!
He wants to go home with you! Become a "kept kitty!"
Great tutorial. Can't wait to try it myself.
Bro you got balls of steel!! Illinois needs to loosen that bobcat tag issue up!!! Even in PA you can buy one tag !!
He wants a treat!
That is a bunch of BS! That cats foot was badly broken. It was not unharmed! You think because you let him go for the camera that you are fooling people. That poor thing did not deserve to get his foot all smashed to crap!
Great job, traps are cruelty.
The cat is waiting for some UA-cam royalties
Thanks for a neat vid ! Do you ever give them food and water or milk before releasing them?
He wants to be fed now too😂
Nice job, sir !
You cut the vid before we got to see him walk. Wrong if you think he wasn’t injured, pulling on a steel trap for hours.
Exactly. And you know something got fractured or broken when the cat started fighting and his leg got all twisted up.
I wanted to see the cats revenge but it appeared to be in shock.
@@jhask64a bobcat cannot harm a human
@tarzanstrickland yeah sure pal, and chihuahuas are leathal predators.
There’s a very good chance the cat died from infection later. Trappers are garbage. Hunt, don’t trap random animals
Thanks for the information. What a beautiful cat; from the front his face looks so much like a tiger. Maybe he's just hanging around to show his gratitude. I've seen videos where animals do that.
Probably hanging around because his back foot is broken!
The cat is saying, " you leave, this is my woods. Now that Iam free, I will bite you"
Good job man. I sure would not have tried that.
Thanks for the information. Very helpful.
Why you catch it in first time ?
You were awesome❤️
Great release video on the cat. I sure like seeing those critters. To me, all of the cats from bobcats to mountain lions are trophy animals.
NO animal is meant to be a trophy. I hunt and fish but if it ain’t going in the freezer or on the plate it walks or gets released!!!
Same thing happened to me last year. Tried a bucket. No good. Used the catch pole and the cat just stuck around and didn't leave until I started the sxs
Well done Stu.
The cats foot was broken or badly damaged . He can’t hunt and survive without all four legs.
Absolutely Awesome !! 😎
Thanks for sharing! Nice how to video!

Ahh his little Bob tail is wiggling ❤.

The spots on that beauty.
👊💀
Do you have to report your incidental catch to your wildlife agency's?
Nice that you set the cat free. However, you mentioned that you had not been able to get a licence to hunt them. WHY would you want to kill bobcats?
What are the traps for?
Well played!!!
The cats probably hungry and wanted something to eat since it’s going to be on UA-cam.
Nice thing you do. 😅
Excellent, thank you great video
Nothing better than seeing animals rescued! Great job! ❤😊
He rescued the bobcat that he trapped himself. Not a great rescue considering the bobcat is probably going to die now due to his broken foot!
Clean release!

Nice work.
Wow great video!
Did you take the trap away?
He's thanking you. Just hanging around to let you know.
Look at him, such a handsome thing 😊
Thats a beautiful cat
You need to find whoever is setting out the traps!!!
Idiot! It's his trap.
It was his trap, he set it but had to release it because he doesn’t have tags for Bobcats. You’d know that if you paid attention to the video.
@rhulse8904 ok so you have no permit for trapping ,so what the point? Just because you can,🫤
