When I played bass, my guitarist hated it when I played with distortion, he's a Zeppelin purist. He even looks like, & plays like Jimmy Page. Best guitar player I've ever played with, & top 5 of guitarists I've ever seen! *lost the point there...It's tough to get a good mix with that much distortion in the bass. It turns into a fuzzy mess, usually. Lemmy works magic using that sound and weaves it into the song as if it couldn't be any other way...brilliant artist. RIP Love his Rickenbacker bass too!
“Never forget us.. We are Motörhead ♠️ and we play Rock and roll!” 🤘 BTW... Boogeyman is the track that Lemmy used to show his bass style at the end of your video.
Saw Motörhead with Sabbath in the mid 90’s,. People asked if I was excited to see Sabbath (Tony Martin was the singer at the time), and Sabbath is one of my favourite bands, but only with Ozzy or Dio on vocals. I’d just answer by looking them in the eye and saying ‘I came to see Lemmy, Sabbath is just a bit of a bonus.’
Great song and reaction. The video is from a Japanese movie. “Zatoichi, The Blind Swordsman.” The original movie came out on 1962 and a few other follow ups were released in the past few decades. They are all action packed as you can see.
Lemmy started out as a rhythm guitar player, but described himself as "mediocrity squared". He later became friends with DikMik, the synth player in Hawkwind, who were having trouble with their bass player. One day the bassist didn't show up for a gig but left his equipment in the van, so they asked Lemmy to play and he stole the gig. He had never played bass before but once he picked it up he said it was immediately easy for him, and he could play chords like he did on guitar. With the treble turned up he is basically playing rhythm guitar an octave low. Motorhead the band is actually named for the last song Lemmy wrote and sang with Hawkwind. Give "Motorhead" by Hawkwind a listen, I think you'll really enjoy it.
Glad you dug it man.. both the song and vid.. It's like my birthday came 2 days early. ;) Motorheads got way too many good songs to choose from (Besides Ace of Spades.. the only one most people know) but heres a few... I Am the Sword Back at the Funny Farm Smiling like a Killer Symphony for the Devil (Stones cover) Whiplash (metallica cover.. won a Grammy btw) Please Dont Touch (with Girlschool) Sacrifice Orgasmatron Iron Fist 1916 Let it Rock (1991 David Letterman show) Terminal Show We Are Motorhead
Thanks for this. I was actually jamming Motorhead alittle while ago. I was feeln ace of spades and killed by death. I think I'll be exploring their music further.
Watch the 2005 (ish) live just cause you’ve got the power that don’t mean you’ve got the right video. It’s a great song by itself but it’s a great live performance too
If the Japanese movie is really brutal then there are two other songs on the "Sacrifice" album (where this song is from) that would have been more fitting, "Sacrifice" and "Over Your Shoulder."
Orgasmatron, I'm So Bad (Baby I Don't Care), Going To Brazil.... No Voices In The Sky, I'm Your Witchdoctor... Just close your eyes and pick... Hard to go wrong with Motorhead....Crank up the distortion and reverb and go to town... Cheers!
One of my favorite Motorhead songs!
Lemmy used to be a rythm guitarist before becoming a bass player so that's why he plays like that. it sounds so good
I never new that, Lemmy rocks
@@megarocks911 yeah, back in "Sam Gopal" and "The Rockin' Vickars" :)

They made 25 movies in 10 years.. with the same actor. That's gotta be a record. It took over 30 years for Bond to have 25 movies.
There is an awesome fan video of Deaf Forever with brutal Spartan fight scenes, my favorite.
